nobody answered the question. let me reformulate: Since i read somewhere that customization will be much more present in the standalone, will i be able to wear bandanas, wear my too-large pants low so everybody can see my underwear and wear a XXL basketball shirt? will i also be able to wear chains and alot of bling?

this isnt a simulation, its a game. if you think this is a simulation then you agree that all the suggestions in this thread should be in the standalone. plus heres a few suggestions that should in the standalone IF you want realism. 1. you character has to masturbate once in a while or else you run slower due to a boner. girls will take 300% more time to masturbate. this is an obligation, if you dont do it, the next time your chatacter needs to take a shit of piss, it will masturbate but suffer a penality which will make the process twice as long. 2. your character tires after running for 5 minutes and has to walk to recover or runs very slow at a speed that the zombies can hit you 3. if a zombie hits you, you are slowed down for 3 seconds due to the shock. 4. you will lose blood much more quickly 5. you will die after a few hours after being bitten since theres no cure 6. your character has to take pisses and shits. 7. you can become depressed and if your meter is too low, your character automaticly suicides 8. you have a chance to injure yourself from anything for example: you can cut yourself while chopping a tree and results in a broken leg. fall down the stairs and results in broken leg and 3 minutes knocked out. you can trip and fall down in the middle of the street which has a chance to result in a broken leg. you know what i mean 9.your character must sleep and can be seen by other players while your logged out. if they see your sleeping character while you sleep in real life, they can kill you or take your stuff. your character wont wake up unless you log in. 10. your gun can jam 11. you have a chance that your character doesnt know how to shoot a gun and results in horrible accuracy 12. no 3rd person 13. no crosshair 14. no display of options, you have to learn the controls by heart. in real life, green text doesnt appear showing your options. 15. you can voluntarily shoot yourself in any part of the body. IF YOU AGREE THAT DAYZ IS A SIMULATOR THEN YOU AGREE WITH THIS i hope i dont see this shit in the standalone. i want a game not a fucking simulator edit: 16. your have a chance that your character is autistic and sometimes do stuff on his own such as shoot the gun in the air, stop moving and starts laughing, etc. 17. you have a chance to be of any religion such as islam, jew, christian, etc. if your muslim for example you have to do your prayers. if you dont do them you lose morale and end up suiciding if ur morale is too low. 18. you have to wash yourself or it results in ichy skin, which makes you to stop aiming and scratch yourself for 1 seconds or develop infection can be anywhere on the body which cause you pain and you need to take painkiller much more often. 19. broken leg is broken. morphine wont do shit.

ok so heres my idea Gangs started to form in chernarus. Cherno is west and elektro is east. gangs are hostile to eachother and each one wants to rule over all the ressources on the map. how it would work: - players can choose a faction such as west side or east side or whatever. - to be part of a game, you must wear at least 2 garments of the same color ex: 1 blue pants and 1 blue bandana. only one item doesnt not make you belong to a gang. - there can be 2, 3, 4 gangs. it doesnt matter really. - players have to find appropriate clothes in order to represent and be regonized by others as members of the same gang - have items for each part of the body ex: bandana, tshirt, pants, shoes,etc. wearing a blue tshirt will make others see you as a survivor with blue t-shirt. - players will have to go into houses in order to find clothes but they wont always find a full set blue or red clothes. they may find a blue jean and a red t-shit for example. so a player will have to visit several houses in order to fully represent. - killing a player who has 2 or more garments of the same color will count as "rival gang kill". if killed by a player who wear all clothes of the same color, blue for example, will have a skin change showing his homies he killed a rival gang member. - players skin will change as they kill more enemies. their skin will let you know how many people he killed. ex: 1 kills = one skin update, next skin is at 5 kills, next at 10 and last one at 15. a player who has 15+ kills will have the coolest skin. punishment: if you kill another gang member, meaning you have 3+ red garments and the other player has 3+ garments too, you will become something similar to a bandit and wont be able to join another gang. useful: - players can easily team up with people from the same gang. - allows more roleplay. -even though their in your gang, you still might want to kill a fellow gang member to take his stuff. -you still have to watch out and cant trust anybody as you cant tell if the other gangsters will kill you or not. - can easily recognize enemies as you may all know, everybody shoots on sight and unless you group up with somebody you know, you probably never find friendlies anywhere.

i gotta agree that this might be a better idea. what i really want in dayz is less kill on sight so i thought a faction system would maybe allow more team play and less solo. and for those who say that gangs would never happen in a zombie apocalyspe, there are gangs or groups in that tv show Walking Dead and i found that show pretty realistic if you ask me. i mean they dont all go solo and kill everyone they see.
