I can't see steam putting Arma2 on sale for the summer sale. Why would they? It's always in the 1-3 top seller spots since DayZ came out. -

I sorta agree that the high level spec-ops gear really has no place in the hardscrabble world of DayZ. I like having many types of guns, but I think there should be more civilian type guns, not every high end NATO marksman rifle you've ever heard of. -

3rd person's extra awareness barely makes up for the real situational awareness you have in real life. 1st doesn't have peripheral vision for one thing. For another, sound in real life gives you much more locational information than games do, especially an alpha mod with, shall we say somewhat placeholder sounds at the moment that are poorly implemented regarding direction and distance. Not to mention the annoying screen shaking of 1st. There are plenty of 1st only servers, play on those if 3rd offends you so much. -

My current life is gong on 23 days now. I'd be pretty choked if I was arbitrarily 'reset' at the end of every month. I may die tonight and lose everything but it would be on my terms, not some butthurt bs character reset. -

Who knew that the zeds are made up of former heavyweight boxers! I mean it's pretty reasonable to get 1 hit knocked out by a starving infected person.

For me at least, it seems that about 50% of all packs on the ground that I find are not interactable, and they are floating about a half foot off the ground. Frustrating when you are starting out and think you just scored nicely. No big deal for my current life as I have an elite Coyote, but still it's annoying. -

Some of those un-enterable buildings have loot that spawns in the doorway. Not many, but some. Binocs are a great tool for scouting out towns both for the transparent window buildings you can get in and spotting the little loot piles that I mentioned. I'd like to see that as well. Funny thing about the tits is that I try to give people the benefit of the doubt if they don't know I'm there (unless I need or want their goodies) but when I see female avatars, it is shoot on sight, no questions asked. Anyone who chooses to play a female character is 99.99% likely to be a griefer. -

[/quote'] Umm, yeah, that's why I justify the bleeding damage as biting, even though there is no animation for it. I do hope the hurky-jerky animations when they are closing with you get sorted out though, they look ridiculous.

It's an Arma engine thing, not the alpha state of the mod that causes this. Hell, I've had my legs broke just standing in place once. I thought I was attacked so I killed a guy in the barn I was going to transfuse. Felt a little bad when I realized it was an engine bug that did me. -

I can see why we bleed so profusely from a gameplay standpoint, but it has never made sense realistically. They are still humans, no super strength of adamantine claws or anything yet somehow they cause bleeding damage when really the only damage outside of biting someone they could really do would be the blunt impact of their fists, hands, limbs or whatever. I've chose to think that it must be bite damage.

Runways are a good place for some reason. Big open fields as well; when I'm hunting or travelling I keep my alt button pressed and am constantly scanning around me. You can make out the little blob moving in the distance.

Earlier in the alpha wasn't there a mechanic that paralyzed you with the hourglass for a couple of minutes if you login right after disconnecting? I'm 99% sure that was the case.

Other than maybe 2-3 people, everyone I've shot has attempted to DC on me, it's rather annoying but at the same time satisfying when they fail. -

Take care of your video settings, on low many of the functions are passed to the CPU rather than the GPU so you'll get performance *hits* from lowering the settings. Most important is video memory, keep that on 'default'. Run everything else on high or above and you should be good. The periodic fps slowdowns are a server issue from what I heard, they simply need a reset. -

If you're gonna server hop, move a few hundred metres away from your target building. I don't condone it, but at least do it right. People who log and hop in buildings should be shot at all times. What's the point anyways? AFAIK if you spawn *in* a building, all the spawns will be empty.
