Comm discipline is the hardest thing for groups to get down. 1. 'I got eyes on a target!' 2. 'where?' 1. 'road next to the house!' 2. 'what?' 1. 'by the tree!' 3. 'hey guise u seen Hobbit yet' 2. 'who's shooting!!!????' 3. 'cause I just got back and it was..' 1. 'stfu man! he's down!' 4. 'aw shit man I'm down I was coming to your position!' 1. 'errrr' 2. 'dude man!'

Sorry I missed it, just couldn't get the gaming time on Sunday. Judging from the above post have you guys disbanded? -
unbelievable situation, searching 3hours for matchbox!
jukaga replied to HeicPy's topic in General Discussion
WAD! Sometimes survival does come down to luck. Die of hypothermia in the freezing rain because you can't find adequate clothing/shelter or fire? That's a good thing. It's a bit harsh at the moment but we are playing an alpha and they are testing the ranges of temperature effects. -
Until the draw distance is improved they have limited value vs the time investment in making one imo. There are situations even now when it is a huge advantage but for most situations I'd rather have my kit bag.

The only long term solution to hackers is the same as every other game, wait till there is a new release that will pull most of them away. I imagine BF3 saw much less hacking when BF4 dropped. With H1Z1 coming on line, there should be a large hacker migration over there, or so I hope. It's the age old shield/sword dynamic. It would be nice to see the initiative slide towards the 'shield' in this case, as the 'sword' has been owning it lately in DayZ.

Without PvP there is NOTHING to do in the game. I'm not defending pointlessly downing un-geared players but listen to yourself: Are you kidding me? Milbases are, always have been and always will be free fire zones. What use is a military grade weapon outside of PVP? Absolute zero. It's pretty fucking safe to assume anyone at a mil base is there to find a gun and shoot you with it. Do it to them first, or give up on the mil bases, get some backcountry survival gear and live off of fishing and game. Perfectly legit way to play the game and you won't get KOS'd so often since you'll be way out in the boonies.

I confirm 3pp publics are a mess of hackers. You're generally ok off the coast but I've encountered them at Vybor base and much more obscure corners of the north. ESP and teleport hacks know no map distances. I'm very grateful to private 1pp hives so one can play in (relative) peace.

I found 2 in the space of half an hour the other night, hardly typical but I usually find one before I find a Mosin. Houses, restaurants and storage lockers are hot spots.

How do you set up your hotbar, and why?

Interesting, that would be quicker than dragging it, will try tonight. Useful info earns beans sir. -
Server hopping, the 60 second countdown, crashes, and game loading
jukaga replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
Server loot hopping is not the problem it was meant to solve, it was to prevent or mitigate combat ghosting which was and is a far bigger problem than AKM mag hoarders. After all, those hoppers go to die on the beach promptly and re-distribute their gear in short order. Combat ghosters ruin the dynamics of the best part of the game: a sphincter-clenching, cold sweat legit gun fight. -

1. Melee 2. Primary 3. Pistol/Sawn off 4. Pistol/Sawn off 5. Rags 6. Bandages 7. Compass 8. Bino/Rangefinder 9. Lockpick 10. Grenade/wildcard Though since they only work half the time, I usually just tab and drag. And come to think of it, I rarely pick up a compass as they always seem to be bugged. -

The FOG awaits is absolutely my favorite server, bar none. A well populated 1st person server that I have yet to see hacks on? Hell yes. I'll try to make it for this meetup but Sundays can get pretty full for me so I'll have to see. I had a great 4 hour session teaming with a random guy named Josh last night on FOG 2 and will continue to frequent the server. Thanks again guys. -
Neato. I still can't be bothered with tents or hoarding with the maintenance every week. What's the point when you have to pack it all up every week? I only get 1-2 days in a week to get some good playtime in and I don't want to spend it moving junk around that I can find in a few hours. (other than ultra-rare heli loot of course, but it's not like carrying an AUG makes you bullet proof). Still, to me this sounds like dupers, no one is going to put that much effort to build a base in a high traffic area like that.

That should be the only scope the Moisin can mount ironically.
-
I've never found or seen the LMG I keep hearing about, or a SMERSH vest.
-
That's why I prefer the AKM, most engagements are going to be in the sub 300 meter range anyways. I usually don't have the patience to camp & snipe, but I have to second the sawn-off, It's an old friend for CQC in buildings. Once we can saw off a pump action and stick it in our bags I'll be a happy man.
-
I'm fine with an AKM, IMO the single most versatile weapon in the game. If I feel more long ranged you can't beat the Mosin/AKSU combo.

It's a bug, there's a cannibal or two on the server and you're hearing the sound they make. It glitches, just like you hear phantom pop cans, ammo sorting and the like. It's creepy as hell, especially when you're playing at night. It happened to me and I thought a cannibal was stalking me through night time Novo, but after about a half hour of hearing it, always at the same volume I figured it out. Still, when I hear it for the first time, I take caution's side and assume it's real. After the third or fourth time hearing it, while moving at the same volume and no sighting of the person it's safe to assume it's a glitch.

As much as I love this game, I have better things to do on Christmas day, or is this supposed to be for the week? In either case, it will not be observed.
-
Is it just me or did the latest patch improve FPS for everyone? I haven't really tested it but it seems like everything is running noticeably smoother than before. Also, the lighting and weather effects seem to have gotten a big boost. I was playing near dusk in game with some bad weather and the light quality and fog looked very, well, real for lack of a better word. You know that neat light you sometimes get on a bright day near dusk? It looked exactly like that in game. The shadows are still pretty glitchy (does anyone else get that problem? Shadows appear normally, you move your head and suddenly they are gone? Really jarring), but unless I'm imagining things it's nice to see the graphical progress being done.

In case some aren't aware, that gun has a weird display bug that allows other people to see you through walls. It shows up as a ghostly extended shadow through walls so it's best to avoid this gun for now.
-
Here's what OP said: 'WAHHH People aren't wandering into my sights after a half hour in a place that everyone who has a week's experience tends to avoid because it has crap loot and is wide open to snipers, this game sucks!'
-
I do the Elektro camp fire thing too, to make it more interesting operate one as a free BBQ for survivors. Have some deer, boar and mystery steaks all cooked up. I like doing this on rainy servers near twilight. Of course, flares and chemlights all over the place too. I'll usually hide my guns and other gear somewhere nearby but isolated just in case, but it's surprising how most people are just surprised that someone is doing something other than shooting them.

Prove me wrong Bohemia! Prove me wrong.

They also talked about player made underground bases and I don't see that ever happening.
