That I like. Kind of a 'Predators' opening. Sure it doesn't make sense in context of the storyverse, but damn that sounds cool.

I like starting fresh with no gear, I really do, but when I am geared up decently I don't want to die. Strange, but true. Once I do die I'm fine with it, but damn I get paranoid and protective of my gear while I have it I admit. I'm currently rolling with a Mk48 and some other good gear and am living in fear of losing it but I know I'll be happier when I do. But I'm still not willing to take suicidal chances to make that happen.

I was flying a Chinook around Fallujah and while typing in side to invite people for a ride, i failed to notice i was banking hard to the lower right, by the time i escaped out of the chatbox, it was too late and I crashed the chopper, somehow survived with broken legs and some blood loss, I felt quite the ass.

Amend that to take an FN or MK48, then shoot the box till it burns I'd agree. :)

Looks decent. It would be nice to see some more unique buildings in these maps, rather than just re using the same Arma2 models. -
I don't want to see players digging out bunkers, it just makes no sense. Instead, have instanced underground areas that players could occupy and fight over with some resources that make it worth fighting over, ie water pumps, ammo production tools, soylent green tanks; what I'm saying is we should be taking over already existing soviet era bunkers, not magically building underground bases after the apocalypse has hit.

I've got no problem with merchandising out of game swag, but the second micro-transactions rear their head in DayZ and I'm out. There are plenty of games out there and I refuse to play any pay2win games, and that goes for paying $$$ for new skins. -
MK48 Mod 0 - Question regarding backpack

I found a hacked camo version once and it displaced my backpack. I was confused then gave it a closer look and saw it was a hacked version so I turfed it. A tear ran down my cheek, as it is my favorite all-round gun in DayZ. -

I can confirm I've experienced this a couple of times after dying with .26, but after the timer expires I get up. I chalked it up to ALPHA. -
I've got mixed feelings on it. I enjoy the entertainment on long northern runs, but the amount of inane chatter and complaints filling the lower left quadrant of my screen can get annoying. Between epeen measuring contests and tear sessions there is a lot of garbage posted there, but all in all I don't mind keeping it in.

I bet it's been brought up before, but why not introduce tranquilizer weapons in the standalone. It would give bandits an option besides killing people to loot them. The mechanics can be refined, but my suggestion would be after impact of the dart, the victim has about 30 seconds to a minute of blurry vision and involuntary movement then he collapses with the egg timer set at 2-5 minutes, giving ample time to loot the victim and make a getaway before they awaken. This would obviously never get rid of random murders, but would for sure reduce their frequency and could lead to some very fun and hilarious situations. thoughts?

I agree with your goals, but really it's pointless. Duper factories will keep producing endless copies as long as DayZ is in its arma2 mod form, so your options are to wait for the standalone or join a private hive. I have not heard a single AS50 shot in two weeks of heavy play on one and hacked versions of guns are non existent. With admins looking over the logs on a regular basis, dupers are caught and banned. -
Thanks for the feedback guys, I think it would add some interesting dynamics to pvp combat. As for the grIefing dimension I agree it could be used in that fashion but the benefits outweigh the flaws. If someone really wants to shove an unconcious body into a car and run it off a cliff, well that sort of creative play is what makes dayz stand out from the crowd, and that's a pricey kill.

The headshot thing about zombie lore never made sense. After I sever a zed's spine with a burst from a LMG, how is he supposed to move and get me? In a related gag, has anyone ever seen the Robot Chicken sketch that shows a guy blowing away a Werewolf with a minigun, collecting the gore into a bucket, pouring gas and lighting it on fire, snorting the ash, crapping the ash out, the effluent goes through a sewage treatment plant then it cuts to a D&D group, with the gm saying 'I don't care! The book says he's still alive!' then the other saying 'That's just stupid' Damn funny sketch and it sums up how I feel about horror lore BS like bullets to the head, stakes to the chest, silver weapons..

Hmm, I never knew there was a Novy spawn, hope I get one eventually. It would be nice if they added a Berezino spawn, I mean it's great being the Baron of Barezino but some visitors would be nice. -

I'll extend an invitation to www.survivedayz.com, sign up for the forums and join the private hive. It's been completely hack-free and there are many friendlies around. With side chat enabled, it also adds some of that early DayZ flavour from may/june that actually has people talking before shooting outright.

So true, those and bizons seem to spawn very often. I can't remember how many crashsites I've found with nothing but empty FALs lying about.

It is fun but more safe with a buddy doing overwatch. I like doing it with a vocoder filter. 'GREETINGS SURVIVOR, I REQUIRE YOUR ASSISTANCE! PLEASE DROP YOUR WEAPONS AND PACK FOR INSPECTION. COMPLIANCE IS MANDATORY, YOU MAY RECOVER WHAT IS LEFT.' It's pretty funny watching the reactions to a friendly demonic voice demanding their gear. -
Other than the obviously hacked gun, you have to be kidding. I could see a boy scout disposing of the gear in this case, a clear hacker/scripter but to never take NVG, RF, GPS from your kills is frankly... dumb.
