I also want female zombies, for the sake of realism.

Well, we here in germany also don't like seeing children get killed in games. That would be a major point for censoring. I am not sure about cannibalism. World of warcraft is getting played here, and the undead can feast from the dead and it has not been censored. Killing children = no go. Cannibalism = maybe possible.

OK. As i have pointed out before, killing people is not a necessary feature for players. You can play the game without killing a survivor and still have fun. I don't see why the game should be censored. Killing is not needed to have rewards in the game. That makes the difference to Call of Duty, for example.

Best items in zombie infested areas, not at deer stands...
subvision replied to subvision's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Thats what I mean. There should be more general loot in villages, including drinks and food. And some good weapons, surrounded by zombies. This would be fun. -
I live in germany. And here games get censored, even the ones for 18 years old, mature people. Reasons for censoring can be: - shown extreme brutality. - killing humanoids (especially humans) the only possible way given. - getting points for kills. - shown sexuality. This is just a few points why games get censored here. And DayZ is not extremly brutal, you don't have to kill others to survive, you don't get points for killing (only the murder counter goes up) and there is no sexuality shown in DayZ. I don't see the point why DayZ should be censored. And I am familiar with censored games... :)

My goal is to make zombie infested areas more interesting to the player. What is wrong with that. Oh, and thanks for your all so intellectual answers so far. Edit: except for snafuu :) -
Good point. But I also think, that it has technical reasons because of the game mechanics, that trains can't be implemented. So sorry for you train-lovers. ;)

No. And there will be a fix for the broken bones thingy. Lets wait and have fun in the meantime.

Should I have moral issues now about killing infected humans? For me, it are zombies. And a zombie is only good - dead.

I picked this quote while reading the thread, and the OP is right and has my beans. 9 .45ACP rounds pumped into a zombie would not be a problem if there was more ammo to be found in the game. But you can't carry an unlimited amount of ammo and the shots attract other zombies. So this way it is almost impossible to infiltrate a city without having 20 zombies on your tail. Maybe the hatchet can help here, but this can't be the solution? In the last DayZ update the changelog says that zombies not hearing gunshots is fixed now. Well, I think the Mod was very difficult before, I have not played with the new update yet, but I have a bad feeling about it. Oh, I think headshots should be pretty deadly, maybe that's the solution? We will see. I don't want to have to shoot 10 rounds of ammo in a zombie and attract 10 other ones, while I have only 2-3 clips. Slowly the development of DayZ is making the game a game for freaks who have a high frustration tolerance. I will see when I play with the new patch, bus as I have said, I have a bad feeling about this. I want the old weapon damage back.

No, I don't want to be a sitting duck for some snipers to practice. Because of the rails they would know the train is going to come back and all they have to do is wait. I am against this idea because it's easier and safer to travel the way by foot. Trains make a lot of noise and will only attract zombies and evil PKs. No, please. No.

Personally, I like the idea of switching on electricity in the cities. But it should be very hard to do and require teamwork. That way, people without NVGs would still be able to play on a night time server and explore the cities and villages. Great idea, you have my beans.

Only for this you should be banned.

Change of zombie movement
subvision replied to tommygun17@hotmail.co.uk's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This happened to me today. A zombie spotted me from a mile away and ran in zig zag directly in front of me. That wouldn't have been a problem if I had at least a hatchet or some kind of weapon. Sometimes it's not clear to me how I am supposed to pick up stuff when zeds are acting like this? Hasn't somebody told me, the zombies have poor vision, but can hear and smell good? If they have that poor vision someone please explain to me how a zombie can spot me half a mile away. BTW: Eating living animals is the best diet in most cases. -
The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
subvision replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The debug monitor has it's right to exist. You are right with the kill text. Server difficulty influences the time you get hungry and thirsty among other things. That should be left as it is. The recruit servers are for beginners and it's ok as it is. With the removing of military-grade weapons there would also be a lot of fun removed, so I am not sure about this. In another thread someone suggested to remove sniper weapons, maybe this is it. Would help a lot of beginners not to get murdered while investigating cherno or elektro. -
The OP brings me to laugh unintended. You could have used the search function of the forum. We had this discussion yesterday. Try using search next time before you post. @Topic: No, the aiming assistance system would be unfair to pc gamers. So please, Rocket, don't make DayZ a console game! (Well, I#m pretty sure he won't) But you could be lucky if some developers just copy the idea behind DayZ and release a similar game on consoles. The type of gameplay seems to be quite popular. And here in germany we say: Better stolen good than badly self-made.

I want the side-chat back. Or maybe a similar system. But I doubt that DayZ can continue this way. I mean all players killing each other instead of communicating. I don't know how, but there has to be done something to bring the trust back into the game.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
subvision replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
DeathmatchZ is what it's all about now. That's precisely my thoughts. There have been some good suggestions here in this part of the forum, but noone has the holy grail of ideas to prevent players killing each other for a can of beans. The game should not be like this. Maybe it is not a game for me, I don't know. Last time there were 2 players wandering the coast, looking for unarmed players. One had a gun and the other had a hatchet. The one with the hatchet decided to kill me after I had hidden myself. But the only thing I could have done was alt+f4. I let him kill me. I knew I would spawn elsewhere. The game should not be like this. -

I'm not sure about Rockets plans either. But I doubt he wanted players to shoot dumb at each other on sight without communicating first. So, I guess you are somewhat right. And because of overreacting: Maybe I was overreacting, but I just don't like this way to play, may it be creative or not. It simply seems wrong to me. I am sorry for every guy who thinks leading newbies into a trap is amusing. -

It's nice that Rocket wants a playground for sick psychopaths. -
Some spawning points at the medical tents would be fine. I saw a Let's Play with one guy exploring the tents and he found nothing inside. I think, there could have been at least some medical supplies. The hospital is a hot-spot and that's a curse. The chance to meet another player and get shot is very high. Not to mention the snipers in the city. I'm for the OPs idea. Thumbs up! :)

subvision replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Morally this is just evil. And I hate evil players. I'm one of the kind helping others out. So I can't see the fun in luring beginners into a trap. That's no fun for me and it isn't legit. They should be banned from the server for this. It's no wonder nobody has trust in the other player. -
Let's play from beginning with every new big patch!
subvision replied to Dedulka's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
As has bees said before, the game has to be tested in all its aspects. From beginner to pro. I am against your idea. I simply don't want to see 20 people in the hospital at the same time. -
No. Please, no.
