Loose humanity, risk insanity (game mechanic)
subvision replied to DeadManWalking2's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I really like the idea. Thats because I would like people not to shoot each other on sight, but maybe play together a little bit. Lets say, to enhance the social aspect of the game. As it is now, DayZ is an antisocial game for antisocial players. -
Against Playerkilling: Feeling of guilt causes unconsciousness/poor aiming

Well, I'm starting to think, I was wrong with my suggestion. It's only comfortable for people like me, who want DayZ to be more of a roleplaying kind of game. Most people seem to think PvP is cool, but that's the point. There is a very sophisicated PvP content in DayZ, but where is PvE? Maybe chernaurus has to be a living hell as has been stated in another thread, to make people play together. And in this, my thread, one guy said that there is nothing to do when you got your basic gear. I know. When looting zombies, they have a can of pepsi with them, if you're lucky, and nothing more. I think there has to be a hard PvE content to prevent players killing each other because it's "fun". OK, I thought over it overnight. Maybe my idea wasn't so great at all. But you shouldn't forget, that all I want is to improve the game, so there is no reason to push my ideas in the dirt. A simple "no" and then a "no because" is sufficient. -

Healing broken bones with morphine in ten minutes is unrealistic, too. So please spare me with your realism. It's a game and it should be fun. It makes a lot of fun now, but I still think it could be better. -

Well, rocket has taken out humanity. I'm pretty sure he will find something similar to this. Maybe a class system or something like this. Let's just sit and wait. @Topic: Most people are against my idea. I understand this and I assume that all of you are playerkillers. It's an interesting experiment, this thread. It tells me a lot. -

Yeah, I don't have a problem with players playing bandits and it's part of the game. But have you ever joined on a german server? The people there are paranoid and shoot at sight. Well, all players are bandits. I miss the balance between explorers, bandits and playerkillers. Do you understand this? -

I'm just trying to improve the roleplaying aspect of the game and all I have to read are comments like: "I won't feel guilty." I know how you people in the USA are like, but I'm talking about a game and how to improve it. If you have better ideas, feel free to post them here and keep your rubbish for yourself. -

Well, I had the idea of making people playing together and I have to admit, I'm a little bit surprised about the reactions here. I don't think the devs intended people to shoot at each other on sight like in call of duty. -

I read it somewhere but I don't remember well. I would have made a link otherwise. -

Studies say, here in germany the playstyle is really harsh and arcade. Players meeting just shoot at each other, even when they say "friendly" in direct chat. In new zealand, for example, players really talk with each other just like the devs intended and start playing together instead of against each other. Think about it. -

I got an idea while reading a german thread. Why not make playerkillers faint? When they have murdered a special amount of players per hour, this increases the chance of fainting spontaneous. As an alternative or addon to my idea, the aiming could get shaky. I think this is a good idea to decrease senseless playerkilling. What do you think about this? -
I also think the bleeding will stop at some level. It depends. But it happened to me, too. I wonder every time I log out and when I log in again the next day, I have +2000 blood. It's odd, but I feel fine with that.

After 220 hours- here are my suggestions for dev ASAP
subvision replied to reuben5150's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Mostly, I disagree. Zombies are not too easy. As it is now, you need double the ammo as in the patch 1.7.2.3. Ok, it's not rockets fault, but this should be fixed ASAP. -
The zed spotted me from half a mile away when I was prone, pal. I didn't say I was running around. This happens not very often, but it happens. Must be the last patch causing this. It didn't happen to me before.

Start With Nothing (Or one randomised Item)
subvision replied to Howler's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Healing broken bones in ten minutes with morphine isn't realistic, too. And also other aspects of the game are not realistic. There should be the perfect balance act between realism and playability. And starting with a bandage, painkillers and a flashlight, ok, and a backpack is the balance act not to scare new players away. The most will start the mod and think:"Huh, what? no weapon?" and play anyway. But starting with almost nothing would be too harsh for beginners. That's what I have to say. -
I have a nice story to tell. When I was in a barn in a small village these days, I got my legs broken. As we know, you can stand up with broken bones, but if you try to walk you go prone. So far, so good. I wanted to get killed by a zombie, but the one in the barn was still hitting my dead pal and did nothing else. OK, I thought, and I crawled out in front of a zombie standing there. I stood up in front of him and he did... nothing. Then he scratched me one time and again did nothing. I wasn't bleeding, so I couldn't get killed. So I had to crawl to the next zombie and this one at last killed me. And when you don't want to get killed, a zed spots you from half a mile away and runs right in front of you, as the OP is telling. Very annoying. When this happened to me I had to stand up and when I did this, ten other zombies spotted me, and I could swear, some spawned out of nowhere in my back.
