I'm thinking this is something on the original map and not DayZ itself
-
I like everything except this; it would be too easy to farm zombies for gear instead of actually going to get gear if they all spawned with weapons and such
-
more matches... or make it default equipment.
Bjorn9486 replied to muniek85's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I've been in both boats; the small towns never seem to have any matches but the supermarkets seem to have at least 1, and I've found up to 3 in a single supermarket. It'd be nice if they could be spread out more. -
As a clothing option it would be cool.
-
If they made 1st person more like real life first person I would switch to it, but currently its like we are wearing a dog cone around our head and that's all we can see.
-
I really like the channel thing; gives bandits the ability to be more bandit-y. However, without a GPS I don't think you should show up on other player's maps; you might do a "ring" that says they are somewhere in this area but exact location would be very hard without both of you having a GPS.

If there is going to be a "class" system, I think it should be done with by limiting the items you can pick up in your toolbelt and use at one time. AKA, if you've got a knife and matches, your now the "cook" class, but you can easily switch them to a toolbox and entrenching tool to be a "defense building" class (or something along those lines).

As stated above, currency is only as good as what is is backing up. Paper money is backed up by gold, which is wanted by everyone because it is so valuable, so you'd need something in DayZ that would replace that gold. Right now, items (NVG's, weapons, ect) are filling that role, but you can trade person to person, so there is no need for an in-between currency.

I am all for making zombies the main threat of this game, but not armed zombies please.
-
I love how you people say "its not hard, just go find a weapon" like people coming into this game have been here from the beginning and have watched every Youtube video on this game. Yes, once you learn how zombies work, you can do a flat out run to whatever building you want, get the gear, and get out all while loosing the zeds but new players don't know this. As for the OP, why not a 2x4 that we floated in on and give it say 5-10 hits before it "breaks" and becomes useless; basically something to kill maybe one or two zombies before we need to find a real weapon.
-
Well that escalated quickly... And no, last thing we need is more military weapons. @OP: Yes, more damaged vehicles would be nice. Let some of us that don't horde on the server have a chance to play with them.
-
+1 I'd like it to be Global Chat, but a max range would be better than what we have now. Plus finding an item would keep the snipers happy because the people they snipe can't instantly respawn and say "Sniper in Electro" with out first finding a radio.
-
No respawn button? Group spawn or S/E coast spawn.
Bjorn9486 replied to Kra's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd like to be able to spawn with my friends when we play, I don't care where we spawn. For us, its the exploring and the adventure not the loot, so we don't head into the big cities anyway. -
+1, the Crossbow is more useless than the Crowbar because of this reason here.
-
Can't you just hit "N" to turn off the nightvision?
-
I think it has something to do with the fact that certain loot spawns in certain buildings, and the high loot buildings are in the 2 bit cities. Hopefully in the stand-alone game it'll be fixed, but I agree its boring just to have to run to the big cities to get gear (specifically medical gear). I think fixing this will also diminish the amount of sniping that'll go on because people arn't forced to go into the cities.

It is implemented for your backpack, but I don't see how hard it is to do at the normal inventory screen. Press G, that will open your inventory.
-
Its been suggested before but it is still a good idea +1

Player Identification and Classification System
Bjorn9486 replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You don't have to use it you know... -
And thus the downside of putting down a sign... but it could also be a trap.

Suggestion, Industrial headlamps.
Bjorn9486 replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like this; basically a big "shot here" sign, but if you're going to have your flashlight out anyway you already are expecting to get shot. Plus, it would free up your hand to hold a pistol so you don't have to go through the animations to put away your flashlight and draw your pistol. You may want to rename your title though. -
Maybe if you are a bandit, but if a group of people have established a camp it would let other survivors know they are about to enter dangerous territory and they should go around.
-
Ever heard of backstabbing someone? And you can access the person's pack from any dam angle it seems.
-
I agree with you guys, I know this is Alpha, but I think we've had enough "new features" to hold people over while we fix bugs now. In addition to the backpack/inventory glitchiness, I would add in tents and (from what I've read) vehicles too; losing stuff because of the inventory being bugged really shouldn't be the hard to fix.
-
Rocket said it is an issue since people have placed so many tents (he said over a million, but I don't know if that is a serious number) and the hive wasn't set up to handle that many tents and that is why all new tents have the possibility of glitching out. I believe he stated this in the 1.7.2.4 patch notes, but I'm not going to crawl through the 80+ pages to find the exact quote.
