Yes please! I'd like to at least find a vehicle in my DayZ career someday -
Player Identification and Classification System
Bjorn9486 replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I really, really like this idea. Instead of typing on the fly when you see someone, maybe you could spawn with an item in the tool belt named "Notebook" or something. This would allow you to make some predefined "tags" for people so when you see someone, you hover over them with your cross hair and then can scroll up/down and pick the tag. This would make it quicker when seeing someone but people would be able to make their own terminology. -
No item respawn/despawn + sleep [Standalone] [Future mechanics] [Dreams]
Bjorn9486 replied to ENSLAVER's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like this idea but many servers do restarts multiple times a day to keep it daytime. This would re-spawn all the items and make them all more common. -
Can we please try to come up with a consensus?
Bjorn9486 replied to Conor88's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
1. I'd say hacking is number one right now, nothing more fun then getting randomly blown up 2. Zombies should always be a threat. I don't care how its done (more zombies, faster zombies, zombies spawn in the woods, ect) but once you have an axe, zombies present very little challenge. 3. More/better end game; I'd much rather do something than hunt players but that is all there really is to do. If number 2 from above is dealt with, this may be dealt with as well. -
I favor this idea, but only when big updates happen that do stop major game breaks (hacking, duping, ect). Updates that change other aspects of the game play (1.7.2.4 for example) don't require a reset because they arn't fixing unbalancing game issues.

To hell with primary weapons says the medic
Bjorn9486 replied to Tsyn's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Nice idea and something I'd personally love because of the runner for our group and I already only take a pistol (on the off chance I find a good primary) when I look for supplies. -
This would be a great thing, but I'm thinking way too much for the server to handle.

This is more a quality life of suggestion. Suggestion: Backpacks already let you know how much room they have left in them, so I was wondering if tents could implement the same system. However, tents can hold a different amount of each "type" of items. According to the DayZ Wiki, they can hold 5 Backpacks, 10 Weapons and Tools and 50 general items. So my suggestion is the tent item interface goes backpacks/weapons&tools/items. Reasoning: Like I said above, it is a quality of life issue. Right now I am personally counting each item that is in there because I have lost items in the past. How Would Work: The Tent inventory at and empty tent would look like this "Camping Tent (5/10/50)" Problems: The only problem I could see is the numbering may not be intuitive and thus meta-gaming is needed. However, with the current about of meta-gaming in the Alpha I think this would be acceptable, but for release it may need to be reworked.

Water Bottles, How Many Is Too Many?
Bjorn9486 replied to Bramacgar's topic in New Player Discussion
Only ever carry one water bottle, and everytime I run by a water source, I'll drink from it and fill it again even if I'm still green and I've never had a dehydration problem. -
I like the idea but at 1/2 the rate like you suggested in a later post; I know it wouldn't seem like much but you can still sit in a forrest without harm from zombies (because quite honestly, it really doesn't matter how much blood you have when facing a player as its pretty much the first person to get the shot off wins) and regen to full in a short amount of time with your first system.

+1 I like the idea of not having a backpack and as other have said, we give a reason for the Czech Vest Pouch to exist.

Let's play from beginning with every new big patch!
Bjorn9486 replied to Dedulka's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like this idea; makes people test every phase of the game (new, ok gear, good gear, great gear) so all the bugs can be found. I don't see how sitting at your base with a dozen tents and vehicles just so you can go out and snipe people is "testing" the game. -
I like this idea and this is my take on flushing it out: - Cigarettes can decrease shaking just like Painkillers due but for less time and you can become addicted. - Cigarettes are made just as common as Painkillers are now; Painkillers spawn-chance reduced by W% (75?) for balance reasons (as right now you cannot become addicted to Painkillers, more below) - Cigarettes have multiple uses and are indicated so just like ammo is now (10 uses? I don't know how many cigarettes in a pack now vs. how to balance for gameplay) - Cigarettes require matches, so maybe up the spawn-chance for matches to utilize cigarettes but reduce the spwan-chance for say knives so cooking animal meat can be just as difficult (item-wise) as it is now - Cigarettes cause addiction if X-number (2?) are smokes. This causes shaking to occure more frequently and outside of getting hurt. This will continue until the person smokes another cigarette or Y-number of minutes (15?) at which point they are "cured" from the addiction. - Cigarettes have a Z% (5?) chance to make you cough, alerting nearby zombies and players. All numbers and percentages are made up by me and would of course have to be tested in-game to determine their use and effectiveness.

I must say very nice ideas. The only problem I see is that we will need more room in our bags or have to have someone dedicated to carrying medical supplies.

OK, I understand that you don't want people abusing the repsawn button to get loot and thus, we may not be able to start with our friends via multiple respawns. For the love of god though, could you please allows to "die" somehow if we've gotten a broken leg; being in the middle of nowhere and having to crawl for 1/2 an hour just to die is going to be frustrating as hell.
-
Can I ask the respawn button be left in place for two reaons: 1. As people have said before, playing this game with friends is great, so my buddies and I will respawn until we are close to each other; not necessairly in the "best" loot spot, but just so we don't have to spend 1/2 hour running to each other. 2. The bigger reason though is because as a new player, I would use this quite often. I have had multiple times when I have broken my leg (sometimes my fault, sometimes an alpha-phase glitch, but I'm not complaining) and I would be in the middle of no-where with no zombies and would respawn because I was basically dead anyway and didn't want to spend an hour crawling to the closest zombie just to die. The height mechanics are different from other games, so as a new player I would jump off of stuff that I thought I could be OK from and end up breaking bones.
