It isn't impossible, you will just die more frequently. His silence was definitely a bad sign. Learn to understand the warnings. At least he didn't pretend to be friendly, that's the worst!

I think of a bandit as someone who actively pursues players to kill/ steal from. A survivor to me is anybody who is minding their own business and may kill on sight? I'm not sure where to put that line. A friendly is somebody who will only shoot if it is incredibly apparent the other person is of malicious intent. A friendly will typically only fire once they have given a warning the other player has not abided by or have been shot at first. Those are the definitions I imply when I use these terms.

I definitely agree that the crossbow needs some type of improvement. It could be a very fun/ useful weapon but for right now I have trouble finding my bolts (if they're even there) & picking them up. The idea of wood & tin cans is a great one. It could give a use to those pesky empty tin cans/ liquor bottles that we so commonly overlook except for zombie distraction.

Re-log and follow smasht_AU's suggestion. Once you have done so use this website as a reference guide http://dayzdb.com/map Then find a map & a compass and you're set! Then again, if you consider this map cheating... well, then you'll need to use road signs and landmarks to find a town which will hopefully contain a map. I have found that the road signs do not match the in-game map though, which is kind of BS. -
Why I think Alt-F4 makes us all better players

It makes you better at killing people before they ALT + F4 . People who do disconnect due to being at a disadvantage would get better either way. In one scenario, they die and have to respawn, so they may reconsider their approach to survival. In the other one, they ALT + F4 and MAY reconsider but they may also just smile at the fact that they have a wonderful crutch and don't need to worry that much. Disconnecting also takes out a fundamental aspect of the game. I'm not a whiner either or very upset. However, it is without question a problem and should be fixed rather than put in a different light. I did like reading your post though! -

A couple weeks of and off play. I don't remember exactly which day I was on. I was definitely fully-kitted out though. I died because I was not only navigating for a group of my friends but letting one of them ride the dirtbike. He kept getting lost. Eventually he ran me over, rofl. All I remember is flying at a high speed into a pine tree. Then he got sniped. Crazy night. Now i'm on top of the belltower thingy in Cherno. What to do now...? -
