Just got into my m1911 and Lee Enfield combo. The m1911 would easily take out zombies and the Lee Enfield would be perfect if it became necessary to kill a player. They both had ammo which was pretty common and it made a lovely combination. With the nerf I'm not sure what I want to use now.

If the vehicle allows for a relatively visible gunner which could be shot. That way the gunner would always be in danger of a sniper and snipers would maybe focus on that rather than noobs for a little bit.

Well, if you want the best loot I suggest looking over the Survivor/ and Bandit forums they have loads of groups looking for members. That way you'll have a group that will help you find and maybe even supply you with such gear. Furthermore, there's an offline map that depending on your standpoint on cheating you could use it along with the in-game waypoint system to scout out deer stands. Deer stands are a relatively safe and easy way for a player who is going solo to acquire military grade loot.

Just joined a group that has an "innocent until proven guilty mentality." I met a guy atop the building under construction that's right outside of Cherno. He confirmed that he was friendly and the majority of Cherno was under friendly control anyway. I didn't really care about him until I saw him hiding on the ladder watching me. I could have chalked this up to either A. His paranoia or B. His douchebaggery. However, I couldn't kill him and just continued to wander around seeing if my attitude of nonchalance would change his opinion. Not to mention my framerate was nowhere near mucho bien!!!
