    Radios

I see a lot of bitching about people using sidechat. I personally don't mind it one bit, but it got me thinking. What if you had to find a radio in order to use the global side chat? Might be that you'd have to scavenge for batteries as well to power your radio.

Oh, how I hate going to Cherno...

I've yet to try the shift + num- , thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt it will work. Nothing else has. For now I'm content to just avoid the troubled areas, or at least, try to work around them as best I can. Bugs like this are expected, though this one in particular is almost making the game unplayable.
  4. I've only been playing a couple weeks now, but I've noticed that in the last few days, there's been some crazy graphics glitch I keep getting in various places, but almost always in Cherno, especially near the church. At first I figured it was my computer getting all wonky on me, something was up with the settings. After a little google digging, I found that this has been happening to just about everyone lately, and it has something to do with dead soldiers and barbed wire. Shitty, but hey, what are you gunna do, right? So I died earlier tonight, and spawned in Cherno. Every time I looked toward the church, the screen started to do all sorts of crazy stuff, making it impossible to look at, and ultimately served to remind me that I was just playing a game and not really in the zombie apocalypse. The thought, "Oh, how I hate going into Cherno..." drifted through my head, even as I dove straight towards the church in search of supplies. I've come to associate Cherno with this glitch, and not only do I try to avoid going there, I notice that most other players steer clear of the area when possible. It would be really neat to see this mentality carry over into later versions of the game. Instead of graphical errors though, give the town another effect, like heavy clouds of smoke. There's some decent loot in cherno, speaking as a beginner, and to add to the tension and risk of entering the city, clouds of smoke that obscure the player's vision might be a good inclusion. It could even be a sort of nod to the alpha community, a tribute to the time the developers broke cherno/elektro in alpha.

    Version 1.62.95389???

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar
  7. I've been trying to get into the server US PA1 to join a friend. Next to the server name is a little red x, and I'm unable to join. The server seems to be running version 1.62.95389, and I am just running 1.62. I'm able to join other servers, but not this one. I've run sixlauncher and commander to update the game, and both say I'm up to date. Is there somewhere I can download the newer version and update manually?
  8. I've seen one. I was just exploring a small farm settlement, no idea where. I spotted a some supplies across the street. There were a few zombies, but I didn I was prone, half in/half out of an outhouse type shack. I picked up the suit and put it on right away. The screen flashed white and a zed spawned into the room, directly in front of me. Just getting to the suit had been very tense, so I was all wound up with the zed came into existence. I started to react, but then he despawned. I sat there catching my real life breath, waiting for a zombie to coming running up to me. I looked into my gear bag to find that all my items had disapeared, and I didn't have the suit any longer. I was a little sore about that, but heyitsabeta, so I just let it go. 1/10 would not use again
