Helping unarmed people by saving them from a bandit that was firing on them also gets a bullet in your head, ive noticed..

Best part of Lingor island is NO MORE ARTIFACTS! And vehicles/tents save! What more could you ask for? :) Also the hotels are fun and great place to make bases. Or one of the mansions.

As long as its a purchased unofficial hive server the most the admin can do is kick or ban. Hackers and bandits cost you all your gear and time.. Personally I don't see why anyone would even bother weighing the twos pros and cons. I see an obvious winner myself. Not to mention all the bugs that have been fixed on the lingor servers (tents, vehicles, artifacts, ext...) On my non-hive server I can make sure all players who join get to actually have fun without all that other BS. Bandit, survivor or hero, I can take care of these people A LOT easier without getting crap from the hive. I may be a little strict on the private hive, but I can almost guarantee the 10+ people I see join excluding myself and clan, have a better experience. Also not all servers edit the config to stupid shit. I have not and will not touch the vehicle count as it would take a lot of fun from the game. I like being able to hunt down things and not just take two steps and spot 6 vehicles...

Aren't the majority of GB servers full of scripters? Have you by chance tried to join another server to see if you receive the same error?

Helped someone on medic forums, as I've been helped by someone on there before. We ended up sticking together after the healing and headed torwards Cherno hospital for more supplies. Stopped to check the super market on the way over and heard shooting (of course). I saw an unarmed man running outside of the market and let my friend know he was undarmed and heading in the back, where he currently was looting. The guy comes in and being the nice guys we are don't shoot him. When suddenly someone else with a gun comes in shooting at the unarmed guy. We kill the gunner before the unarmed guy could die and let our unarmed friend loot him.... That was our first mistake. He takes the guys m14 aim and we head off, hitting a close church for loot. Me and my friend hit our maps to plan next course of action. This was our final mistake.. A shot was fired and I saw my friend had been killed. The moment I got out of my map our m14 friend had his sights on my head and killed me before i could react. Needless to say, people like that are the reason we shoot on sight, unarmed or not. (I understand kindness goes a long way with some, but apparently its getting left behind by most in this game.)

I own a server and it seems on most new servers vehicles don't save. They don't save gear, location and repairs. As of right now working on a vehicle is a waste of time, i'de suggest finding a Bike or motorcycle since their glitched and don't need repaired. (just save it and its fixed)

Seems to me whats causing it is trying to join a server of an older version. I'de suggest trying to find a single server to continually play on until the next patch. Though sadly seems like the patches are only creating more bugs lol. Oh well..

Short Version: You live, you die. Long Version: It seems like you learn something new in life everyday. And for myself and probably many others you learn something new in DayZ every life. I'de like to share with everyone else what I have learned, to possibly help another. For starters I have learned: *FN Fal is probably what your gonna get 75% of the time at heli crash sites. *There is a 75% chance the first stranger you run into will shoot you in the face. *You will spend 10-15% of your time in loading screens joining servers. *You will spend another 75% of the time running. *You probably haven't learned anything new from this list yet. *By default if you press the quote key " ' you will sit IF standing. *By default if you press the backslash key \ you will salute IF standing. *If you go into your key mapping, you can assign 'Surrender' a key and then have the ability to do so IF standing. (Worthless unless you like to get deep into character) *There is a 50% chance someone is currently watching you in game. *80% of all statistics are made up on the spot. *There is a 50% chance you read and know where my topic tags came from. *There is a 50% chance you will nearly die from a bush or door. *The medic forum is the best place for health related issues ;) *Double tapping ALT makes your body face only one way while your head can look around *Double tapping W makes you run funny. *Double tapping shift inverts it. (Hold shift to run instead of holding shift to walk slowely) *Theres a 10% chance someone had a chance to kill you but did not. *Holding in Shift while viewing in game map and left clicking can set a way point. (some servers don't have?) *Its not nice to throw a flare in front of someone using night vision. *Tents are magic. *Bikes don't need fixed. *Helping a stranger doesn't mean they wont put a bullet in your back. *Artifacts. *You should always pay attention to the road while driving. Anyone else like to add something? I'm still learning, so I will add as I go.

I have a different server host but same problem with vehicles. They transform or go back to their spawn completely broken, however every tent I have placed "saves" what I put in it. Fixing vehicles has become pointless lol. Unless of course you don't ever restart your server, but I wouldn't count on that working out long..

I find it funny when you offer someone help and you clearly tell them you have someone on overwatch, then offer them supplies or medical help then they kill you, JUST to be shot in the head imediatly after by said overwatch. Lol too many idiots play this game. Next time i get on if your in my area i could possibly help, just learn from others mistakes.

Even if you plan to meet people on the forums, they can still fuck you over reguardless of how nice you are to them.

Me and a friend have been playing for a while now and are looking for another player to join us. Req. - 18+ - Don't yell/scream constantly - Skype - Understands this is a game and you will eventually lose your gear - U.S residents (just makes finding a server easier if were all close. im in ohio hes in new mexico) Feel like you fit add us on skype: elemity p.s we are currently near the southern part of the map just sitting on the beach.. lol

Not all torrentz are illegal lol. But ive always wondered about hooking a controller up, but figured there were way too many buttons and not enough on the controller. If OP has tried, how well does it work?

At least when it spawns you on the beach you still have all your shit. Though I can't complain, they left me with an empty alice pack.

Weird, with it being out of NY and me living in ohio (9+hrs to NY) you'd think i'de have a good ping. Sadly my ping was over 100 :( when its usually in the 40s. Would have enjoyed looting a newer server.

Didn't read all the comments, but I've completely updated ArmA2 and DayZ and have only had this happen one single time. It was after i tried joining a server I didn't realize was 7.4 and not 7.5. Since then I have not had a single problem and have even moved servers probably 3 times last night within a 4-5hr period. (all times coming back in exactly where I had left off, as did my friend) ArmA2 Version: 95883 DayZ Version: 1.7.2.5 I did notice however a couple of the servers that claimed to be night (10:00PM-1:00AM) weren't night at all. Just seemed to be a cloudy day... (using DayZ Commander)
