Hello, I'm in the process of setting up our first DayZ server, and I'm having a little trouble tracking down any good 'how to' resources. I have to imagine these documents exist since there are thousands of servers up and running, but I'm striking out like crazy. All I've been able to track down is a video on YouTube which shows the process for creating a private server, which I assume is a different process than setting up a public one (maybe not?? Maybe the only difference is the mission files along with the whitelisting?). What I know I know that I need to request the instance ID through the support portal... I have a pending request already. I know that when the request is approved, they will give me access to necessary mission files Assumptions based on things I have found I'll need to get copies of Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead on my server, as well as the DayZ mod files Better instructions will be provided along with the instance ID Ports 2302, 2303 and 2305 (TCP and UDP) need to be opened up to the server I also came across this wiki page for Arma 2 dedicated servers... assume there's some useful info there which is also relevant to DayZ dedicated servers there as well. Any information you can provide about setting up a server is greatly appreciated. And apologies for asking a question that I assume must be answered somewhere... though for the life of me I cannot find. [uPDATE] My Server was just approved and as stated by a few in this post, everything needed to set up my server was included in the welcome email. For those aspiring to set up your own server, fear not. Also, it took my request 3 days to be approved. I'm not sure if this is an average wait time or not as I have read about others waiting in excess of 1 week. [/uPDATE]

Ok, thanks. Agreed... I know the focus has probably shifted to the standalone, but even minimal support for the mod in the meantime would be appreciated, and it appears there is none. -

We've been having the same issue on my server as well... though, I don't think it started with 1.7.2.5... it seems like I started noticing items in vehicles and tents stopped saving after the new BattlEye enhancements (remoteexec.txt and createvehicle.txt). I may remove these for a couple days and see if things improve (if no one else already has). -

lol... go take em. We hoarded these vehicles over the course of a month or so. All of the good ones have either been looted from our site already, or we've wrecked them. Also, if you can identify the coords to this camp based on the image alone, I'd be pretty impressed. Please do so if you actually have any idea where it is. I will reply honestly if you're right or wrong as we're no longer set up there. -

I misread your previous post... sorry I gave such short notice on this one. Usually I do 5 mins. I had been killed by hackers about 5 times in a row at that point and was getting frustrated. Hard to say if that's our camp... we have a few camp sites now, because we keep getting raided. That's funny about the chopper... we've been looking for it for the past few days too and have been striking out.

Yeah, it's been bad today... I was the one that did the restart. Hopefully things get better, but with the limited things we can do to get rid of the hacking, it's unlikely.

AFAIK there is only one method proven to work. Click start > shutdown.

Hello, Today I started using Dwarden's fixed scripts.txt to fix the issue with scripts.txt being renamed... twice after doing so I have seen every player in the server get kicked with the message: Player has been kicked by BattlEye: Script Restriction #98 Has anyone else had this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated. -

Thanks... I'm pretty sure that's the same scripts.txt file I was trying last night (though I found it in a different thread, and didn't diff the two files so I can't be sure). I just put these files in place... testing now.

Thanks, but I don't think this is the official file... in fact, this is the one I had been using yesterday but had to stop because of these floods of script restriction - all player kicks on the server, I tried the 'updated' version too with the same result.

I have not found a fix yet... Hoping in the morning that the link to this mystery new official scripts.txt file will be available. Dunno why they spam it in the server if they aren't going to post it online, or comment about it on any of the many threads regarding it here :/ -

I was running his last revision today, and everyone keeps getting booted by BattlEye for random scripts... (EVERYONE). I just switched to this copy... we shall see. -

Line 96, however, was 5 openMap !"\"openMap\"," I've changed that to 1, so hopefully that was the issue... Thanks for the help.
