Just out of curiosity, when getting the error, were you using DayZ Commander as well?

It is the beta patch... Arma 2 OA beta patch 95310 to be exact... I think you're confusing "beta" with "mod", which is not what people are discussing here. No one is pointing fingers at DayZ.

I updated through DayZ commander today and was having this problem too... for the heck of it, I tried coming into the game through Six Launcher and was able to connect w/o issue... not sure if I just got lucky or not, but it worked for me.
  4. I figured it out! My problem was simple... I hadn't uncommented [misc] I bet this is the same solution for the op.
  5. Will send in PM soon, thanks. This is what I have set currently... I removed the absolute path last night after realizing the Admins.xml file was working properly with the relative path.
  6. No such luck... here is my current Scheduler.xml file, which still does not work: <?xml version="1.0"?> <Scheduler> <!-- *** INTERNAL COMMANDS *** --> <!--Heart Beat Check--> <job id="0"> <time>000020</time> <day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day> <loop>1</loop> <cmd>say -1 Testing scheduler</cmd> <cmdtype>0</cmdtype> </job> </Scheduler>
  7. Good catch, I think I had it correctly set with 6 digits in testing, but I'm trying again now.
  8. P.S. I don't think controls is working properly in my case, either.
  9. It's weird... I tried everything that you tried as well, using full paths to the file from Myconfig.cfg, etc. Relative paths must be working, since my Admins.xml file is working.
  10. Thanks... unfortunately it was just a bad cut/paste and edit job on my part here... I had the close job tag on my server. I actually tried using your scheduler code as well with no luck. I'll give it another go this afternoon, and maybe I'll take you up on your offer to look over teamviewer if I strike out. I'll pm you my ID/Pass and Ventrilo info if all else fails. Thanks.
  11. Did you ever figure this out? I got BEC running today and am having the same problem... scheduler doesn't seem to want to run anything I throw at it. For instance, this does not run: <?xml version="1.0"?> <Scheduler> <job id="0"> <time>0000020</time> <day>1,2,3,4,5,6,7</day> <loop>1</loop> <cmd>say -1 Testing scheduler</cmd> <cmdtype>0</cmdtype> </Scheduler>

Hey, If you still need some help and have a mic, send me a PM and I'll send you back my Ventrilo server info. I just set my DayZ server up yesterday, so I should be able to help you through the process.

How long a delay to get an instance ID?

    Wow... was this recently?

No problem... for some reason multiple people have made interesting assumptions about my infrastructure in this thread... I was starting to feel like I was in some alternate reality.

How to setup public DayZ dedicated server

I must say.... I'm a little amazed at how many replies there have been to this thread where people have made assumptions about where my server is hosted and what the bandwidth at the data center is. I'll clear the air again... My server is colocated at a datacenter, it is not at my house. It is not a home computer, it is a rack mounted, Dell PowerEdge server running Windows Server 2008 R2. It is not on a home internet connection, it's on a 10/10 fiber channel which on average gets actual speeds of 40/40 and no TOS with the ISP will be broken by hosting DayZ on it. All I ever wanted was some instruction on how to build the DayZ server once the instance ID was approved... three posts within this thread have indicated that the instructions are sent from the dev team with the instance ID approval.... thanks to those who provided these answers.

No offence taken... as stated throughout this thread, this is not on my home connection, or my home PC. I'm not trying to break or bend the rules in any way... My server meets all of the requirements stated in the rules. I'm in the US... though it doesn't matter as no TOS will be broken... again, not using a home internet connection... using a fiber channel at a data center.

How to setup public DayZ dedicated server

Yesterday I installed Steam on my server and downloaded Arma 2 and OA, so that much is done... would the best way to get everything on the server patched and to get DayZ mod be to use Six Launcher like I would on my my PC, or is there a better method for servers? Thanks for the post... really not much has been stated other than that the dev team sends out instructions when the instance ID is approved/issued.

How to setup public DayZ dedicated server

I have I have a fiber channel which is supposed to be 10/10MBps... they don't cap it and usually I get upwards of 40 each way. [EDIT]Ugg... looks like they actually started enforcing my advertised speeds... it's been about 2 weeks since I did a speed test and just assumed nothing had changed. Hopefully this isn't an issue with the request[/EDIT]

How to setup public DayZ dedicated server

Ok, good to know. I think I can manage to be patient that long. Hey, another question... When I was filling out the request form, I was unsure what they were looking for in the fields for: Network Port Speed Upload (mbps) & Network Port Speed Download (mbps). Are they looking for what your bandwidth from your ISP is allowing, or for what the NIC card is capable of (eg I get 40MBps up & 40MBps down vs having gigabit NIC or 10/100MBps NIC). I assumed the former and listed the upload and download speeds, but have been second guessing myself there.

Me too, but it's out of our hands... I'm just grateful that we don't have to pay server rental fees, which is the reason why I don't host a BF3 server.

Bummer... hopefully everything goes through smoothly once they have time to review our requests.
