BattlEye Extended Controls - Scheduler Question
SubEclipse replied to Lith's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I use #shutdown in the scheduler, and then when the server watcher script sees that the process has died, it restarts. Here is the script I use. http://r4z0r49sisle.com/Server.html I have slightly modified mine to also launch bec. -

This looks like it's not finding your BEC config file -
BattlEye Extended Controls - Scheduler Question
SubEclipse replied to Lith's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yeah, that's a little different than a MOTD... You'll want to use something like BEC for those warnings (that's exactly what I do). If it's a server rental, they may not allow you to execute files on your server as you could with a dedicated server. Asking your server host is definitely the next step. -

If it's running, the first few lines in the window will look like this: --------------------------------- Bec, Arma2 Server Tool V.1.460 Copyright (C) by Stian Mikalsen Email: [email protected] --------------------------------- 11:51:18 : Checking for updates... 11:51:23 : Bec is running latest version! 11:51:25 : Requesting login on 81.166.125.84:20100 11:51:26 : RCon admin #0 (81.166.125.84:63217) logged in 11:51:26 : RCon admin #0: (Global) Initializing Bec If all you want to do is display some MOTD text, put them in the server.cfg file... ex: motd[] = { "DayZ is in alpha and as such bugs and frequent server restarts may occur!", }; motdInterval = 1; // Time interval (in seconds) between each message -
BattlEye Extended Controls - Scheduler Question
SubEclipse replied to Lith's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The config file you need to point BEC to is the BEC config file (which must be in the Config folder with your xml files for admins, scheduler, etc). For instance... I have my BEC config file named "Myconfig.cfg" which is in the Config folder. The command I use to launch BEC is: bec.exe -f Myconfig.cfg One last thing, from your last post it sounded like maybe you were trying to run BEC on your PC, pointing it to a different server. I've never actually tried this scenario myself, and I'm not really sure if that's possible. I have BEC installed on my DayZ server. -
BattlEye Extended Controls - Scheduler Question
SubEclipse replied to Lith's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
P.S. Guessing based on your file paths and port that this is a private server... I've only set this up on my public server, so I have no idea what else you may run into, but I would expect it should behave the same way. -
BattlEye Extended Controls - Scheduler Question
SubEclipse replied to Lith's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
You have a few issues... scheduler shouldn't be moved up to BEC, and you should use relative paths... You may want to use a log path w/o spaces as well. For the uncommented lines, you should use: [Bec] Ip = 81.166.125.84 Port = 20100 BePath = C:\Users\JonnyBoy\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\BattlEye LogDir = NVLOG Admins = Admins.xml Commands = Commands.xml [Misc] Scheduler = Scheduler.xml Then launch bec.exe -f Myconfig.cfg If the program opens and then quickly closes, you probably have set the path to your config file incorrectly... otherwise it will display the error in the command prompt window. -
Hello, There have been a few instances now where there have been hackers in my server, and I've done my best to go through logs and identify who they are, but I'm assuming there must be a better way. A good example would be an incident that happened yesterday. Someone in my server was spawning vehicles and ammo... Multiple players reported to me that they would hear this person over direct voice chat offering them weapons, gear, etc, (all over the map). I looked through chat logs, but found nothing definitive as it appears he was primarily using voice. I have to imagine there's a way to see the spawning of these items, but I don't know what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How to identify hackers as a server admin?
SubEclipse replied to SubEclipse's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Ok... I have tags on as well... unfortunately, no one that I've talked to caught the guy's name. I downloaded the "DayZ RPT Helper" which does clean up the logs a lot and makes it easier to review them for an individual user. I have a log file I could really use some help with. If there's someone out there who is experienced with interpreting the RPT files, who would be kind enough to jump in my Vent server with me for a sec, I would really appreciate it. If anyone is up for it, please PM me and I'll send you the info. -
I came across this in the chat logs... not definitive, but does raise eyebrows. 19:16:44 : (Vehicle) The Black Guy: OLOLOLOL report all hackers

Did you by any chance get any names or clan tags?
-
Very generous of you to offer, but not necessary. I really appreciate the offer.

Hackers in US 1220
SubEclipse replied to TheLoneRanger (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Three confirmed hackers have been banned from US 1220 this morning. These players had been being watched closely over the past few days after we found their LOADED camp site and found several duplicated items. Last night as we were getting ready to repair a truck, one of them showed up and I dropped him. Minutes later the guy I killed teleported inches away from me wearing a ghillie suit and holding a PDW. Another teleported next to a buddy, also in a ghillie suit. As obvious as these hacks were, I got in rcon and gave the players a chance to explain themselves... one argued back that I shot first, but disconnected when I confronted him about the teleporting. I have a list of player names, IPs and GUIDs for the group of players that I know these hackers associate with on US 1220. I have not banned these players as they were not present during the hackfest last night and I hope they just got mixed up with a bad crowd. If you are one of the players who was banned last night, and you want to contact me regarding the reasons you have been banned, please do so via PM. -
Hey LloydT, It looks like the server crashed during the restart at 4:00AM GMT -7. I've manually restarted it... it should be good now.

To the players that were just kicked for bad chars in their player name... sorry, I enabled this in BEC, and It had a lot of common characters by default. I've updated the file to allow clan tags using () [] {}.

Hackers in US 1220

Thanks for the report... If you can get me a copy of the video I'll see if I can find the offenders in the server logs. -

Is DayZCommander better than SixLauncher?
SubEclipse replied to mccullxch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sorry dotjosh, I didn't realize you were the creator of Commander. Do you think I'm onto something with what I stated here, or am I way off? -
Is DayZCommander better than SixLauncher?
SubEclipse replied to mccullxch's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
... Not entirely true unfortunately... for instance, my server (US 1220) is GMT -10, which is properly stated in the server title, currently server time is 8:20AM, and commander reports 5:20PM [EDIT]I just did a little thinking and realized that the timezone where it is currently 5:20 would be GMT-1, so my assumption is that Commander looks at the title, then improperly parses out part of the timezone. My best guess is it's just set to grab one digit after gmt[+/-][/EDIT] -

I like Commander, but it seems like the timestamps it gets from the servers is always wrong. -
Kicked by Battleye: Unknown game version

You could try what worked for me above. I just noticed a bunch of people joining my server successfully, so maybe the problem is resolved.
