Don't hold shift as you're crouching (the double-tapping shift has the same effect). Basically the game thinks you're sprinting and it launches your character forward and lays down. Happened to me on a building in Elektro... Edit: This isn't a bug, a glitch or a malfunction, it's a built-in feature for ArmA2.

"If you feel this is not a fair trade, please give your ideas of negotiation. " I feel it is perfectly fair. Check the spawn rate of the two of them. If you run across 5 helicopter spawns, you're bound to find an AS50. I've looted hundreds of barracks and have only found a few GPS'. But my opinion doesn't matter. I'm the one doing the trade, so I might be able to change the negotiations. Perhaps L85A2 AWS for AS50?

This is how I think about it: This games base idea is survival. To do so, you need to develop your gameplay style to stay alive as long as possible. Some people feel that lone-wolfing is less risky than teaming up. Other seek the aid of groups, squads or small militias(lol). To survive in the current games state, I feel that you must kill on sight because others have developed the same mindset. Go watch the movie 'Mad Max' - this IS DayZ in it's most early state. It doesn't matter how your mindset develops or how you play, because others will disagree with you on different levels. This is good, obviously, but you shouldn't ask others to convince you to do anything. You're your own person, and killing on sight is considered the best way for YOU to survive. Others have different ideas, but this is a survival game, and you play it how you think you should.

Yeah bud, those patch notes haven't been implemented yet, so before complaining about it you should probably either read the thread or wait until it's released. These issues have been addressed and solved.

Can't wait to blow a few choppers out of the sky with a sniper team of AS50's. I feel sorry for the pilots ;)

Your view on the game isn't bad, but there are a few things I disagree with. While yes, this mod was built on a military simulator, the use of Teamspeak isn't that unrealistic. The real ArmA game has a radio in which players can use different frequencies to communicate with players. This would be an enjoyable implementation to DayZ. This is a game no matter which way you look at it, and that concept should still be kept in mind. It will need unrealistic aspects to keep it interesting. The difference between a good game and a bad game, are what type of game and just how unrealistic something gets. DayZ is an original idea and it will soon be much more successful than it already is. I'm creeping along the NWAF on a lowpop server... Solo... It's pretty early in the morning, so most of my crew is offline. I'm searching and hoping to find a sniper rifle for one of my group members. It's pretty intense after playing for a while and knowing how people work together in the NWAF. Running solo is stupid, risky and generally dangerous (mainly because people hop servers in the NWAF. So here I am, I just checked the southwest barracks and I'm slowly crossing the airfield when I noticed I wasn't alone... After watching him for about 5 minutes slowly creeping along the airfield, I zero in and take some shots. The moment my third bullet hits him, he Alt f4's. I'm pretty sure I broke his legs though, so if someone logs into your server at the NWAF with broken legs and NVG's, fuck 'em up for me wouldja? --Made another Alt+F4 at the NWAF... I got this guys name though ;) his name was "Young Nigga"

I don't think you understand what your comment says exactly. In other words, you're saying "I'd appreciate it if you didn't let us know what you're doing to improve the performance of our gameplay". A year down the road, you'll regret that statement when updates that are ruining the game aren't being listed on the patch notes.

Your theory is exactly my thoughts. You read and see about DayZ and you think "Damn, this is a game I could play with some buddies" and it is. But don't try to pick random people up in-game. I have personally picked up about 13-15 people on the forums without any issues yet, but we're still careful. My 'clan' started out as a friendly group of people. We tried to make friendly contact a few times that ended with them dying because either they tried to shoot me or someone in my group. At this point, we kill just about anything that poses a threat.

I have never personally had this exact thing happen, but I wouldn't doubt that an admin is working in the crew and kicked you for the giggles. At this point in DayZ, people will do anything to gain an advantage, so anything is possible. If you can live with the good and bad of this game in Alpha, things will look much better in a couple months.

At this point in DayZ if you're running solo, I would kill anyone that poses the slightest bit of threat.

The shots that were fired were from the L85A2 AWS. You can tell from the almost hollow sound. Those were not AS50 shots. Doesn't defeat the fact that they might have been cheating (like most of the people who play :c) The shots were around 200 meter range, else you wouldn't be able to hear the gun, so the foliage was spawning. It's also possible that they were indeed using thermal (most likely seeing how it's day time) and might've been taking blind shots. It's silly as to why they would even bother killing unarmed players though, that just show their own lack of 'skill'. Anyone that knows the mechanics of the game realizes that shooting as unarmed survivors is a waste of ammunition, time, and jeopardizes your position.

Logistic has recruited around 13 players and about 7 of those play a few hours a day. We stick together, we shoot together. We're looking for a few somewhat serious players to improve the general knowledge of the group we've got now. If you think you have something to contribute to the group, please feel free to drop a post here. We're careful of who we approach and how we do it. We will invite you to TS and arrange a spot to meet up. Post away ladies n' gents! We'll take a group or an individual player. We have plans of splitting LGC into tactical teams. This thread will not be a permanent recruitment thread. It may be updated and a new thread may be started. Post quickly because after we take a few more members we'll probably close recruiting for a while.

Nope. What's the problem with TS3? From my few years of experience with them both, Teamspeak 3 is much more friendly with users, for such features as permissions customization, groups, teams, channels, images, and self-changing voice options. Mumble/Ventrilo is outdated, but the servers are a bit more stable. I've been hosting my Teamspeak 3 server on a Linux VPS for over three weeks without a second of lag, downtime, or crashes. If you're interested in joining, let me know. We don't use anything else. If you don't want to join, it's not going to break our hearts ;)

Lawl'd. If you weren't legit, you got ownt. If you're legit, then this report will probably lead to the admin losing his rights. You're most likely going to need some sort of proof, so keep that in mind.
