So, the issue that has been identified hundreds of times on these forums is that the zombies aren't scary enough to fit the 'zombie apocalypse' theme. So the obvious solution is to make zombies more of a threat. The ideas below are up for discussion, and as always, I won't defend my ideas, but rather clear up any uncertainties or any misunderstandings. Creating more 'classes' of zombies. Ones that have special aspects of them which will need a separate approach of extermination. Ideas would consist of: Large abominations of creatures that may or may not be zombies, who tha fuck knows. It's large with very slow movement and will take quite a few bullets. It would be something along the lines of trying to shoot a train. This "zombie" would need high-tier gear to take down and would most likely give out nice, rare loot. If a group of underarmed newbies tries to take this critter down, they'll likely be ripped apart and immediately greeted by a death screen. This creature would have low line of sight and low hearing, so sneaking by shouldn't be difficult. This little guy would most likely be in areas such as the airfield. Small creatures that will scream loudly upon being alerted, followed by jumping, running, and very erratic behavior. You will likely not be able to kill this creature once it has been alerted without tight teamwork and well-aimed shots. If this creature gets hold of a person, it will sling them, and charge them. If it decides to latch ahold of a survivor, it will stay stationary and start gnawing on the unconscious body. The 'standard' zombie will pack around in hordes of more than 10, moving together aimlessly with no mission at all except to find and kill survivors. These hordes will be very difficult to avoid, and without anticipating their movements, you're likely to attract them with either your smell, sound, or visibility. The senses of these large groups will be enhanced based on how many are there. If one spots or hears you, the entire group will rampage toward you (moving about 30% slower than what they do now) and will not stop until your scent has been masked (through water, dropping uncooked meat, or killing a large animal on the way). Another 'class' will run around quickly in the forest, nearly silent and will not appear on thermal scans. The only sound it will make is when it finds a player or animal. This creatures main aim is to kill instantly. It will not stop and eat on a dead body, it will continue it's rampage until everything that is alive is dead. This includes animals, other roaming zombies, or players. This creature is killed very easily, but is agile and once aggroed will b-line toward the nearest living thing. If the creature is aggroed, it will make loud gargles, growls and screams. -- -- Got board and figured I'd write this up... Might add more to it later, lemme know what ya think ._.

My group just dropped 10 jerrycans of fuel into the chopper we have and it's like it hasn't moved at all. It takes 30 jerrycans to fill it up, so after 10 cans it should have filled it up at least 1/3'd, but it hasn't moved at all. DAHPHUUUCK? ;c

Sniper / Pistol Combo, What Should I Use When?

I'm a constant sniper and I've found that carrying a silence assault rifle is much more helpful than a pistol. I generally only use a pistol to take out a lone zombie or something of the sort. An M1911 is a sniper's best friend when dealing with zombies or when approached off-guard by a player. Regarding carrying an assault rifle: I would suggest having a Coyote pack and having 3 AR mags with you at all times. The type of rifle doesn't matter, but if it's silenced, you'll survive a lot longer than lobbing shots out of a loud ass AK or something of the sort. Generally, if you're a lonewolf, having a sniper isn't a bad idea, but if you're running with a team, it's their responsibility if you're firing on a player to protect you. My squad appreciates the damage and the confusion a sniper can cause, therefore we tend to protect them on various levels. If you're running with a team, I suggest you ask them to cover you. -
As the title states, I have a GPS and I'm looking to trade it for an AS50. Rules of the trade are below. If you don't like it I'm sorry. Trading is risky business and I'm not going to be part of one of those "Fucked a trader over" posts. The person who is trading will show up alone. I don't care if you have buddies in the woods, but you will meet our trader ALONE. You will meet in our location. If it takes you entirely too long, the trade is over and we will leave immediately. When approaching our trader, your gun will be lowered or you will be killed. If we are shot or shot at, you will die immediately and our group will engage any other hostiles. We will pick a designated area on the lowest population server possible and you will meet us there. We may change the area if a decent argument is proposed. A rundown of the trade: We will have our group in locations that have been predetermined Your trader will enter the area alone(as said before) Our trader will drop the item on the ground a few meters away Your trader will drop your item on the ground a few meters away Your trader will take the item and leave immediately Our trader will collect the item and we will leave We will invite the trader onto our Teamspeak to speak with our team as they move to the location and so that we know when they're nearby. This is security for everyone in my opinion. You are not forced to speak, but I would prefer if you did join and if you did speak with us. My group of survivors has never caused any issues in trades, negotiations, or in-game meetings of any sort. If you do not trust us, don't post. If you feel this is not a fair trade, please give your ideas of negotiation. After the trade has been completed, I will ask you to vouch for my group on the forum. Just tell people how everything went if you wouldn't mind :)

L.O.L Never thought of it like that. Pretty sure when it blows up it kills everyone inside instantly. Hah, my group just got geared and ready to find a chopper. Got 3 people with .50's ready to see some dummy fly by ;)

I can't give you a direct answer because I do not know. But, what I do know, is that ArmA 2 does have real moon cycles and real time cycles. I'm unsure about tides and it seems a bit out of the way, but perhaps you're right.

So, after this new patch I've been watching how many times I disconnect. I disconnect for a lot of reasons, like aborting and relogging to fix FPS drops. Or relogging to wait on a buddy, or relogging for visual issues, relogging for ANY reason. So today I've already relogged a lot... And I was wondering how many times you have to relog when it's updated before you receive a penalty and how they're going to fix it. Makes me nervous sometimes :x Anyways, just wondering

Sorry for your loss of your AS50, it was funny how you tried to ALT F4 to keep from dying bud. Nice try, I appreciate your effort. Unfortunately, I didn't get to loot your corpse because you alt f4'd, but I'm glad I put another one of you pussies in the ground. A bit of a backstory on this guy(I know you guys enjoy sweet revenge :D ) This guy killed me (I think) a few moments before this. I knew where he was and I got an epic respawn right outside of Elektro (He was on that big hill that every other sniper sits on). I ran to the Firehouse after a buddy said he just killed 4 people there and one had an AKS74. I grabbed it + a coyote backpack and ran to the hill. I shot him about 4 times before and he alt+f4'd. I expected him to log in again, and about 30 minutes later he did exactly what I thought. As soon as he logged in, I started spraying. I had 8 bullets left out of a 30 bullet clip, seen him drop and I tried to loot but the little fucker alt f4'd again.

Not necessarily, I've heard of a few people actually finding choppers in their exact spawn points with busted engines and whotnot
