Dude... I was thinking the same thing. I avoided posting anything on the forums simply because organizing such an event would be nearly impossible. You would have to have a closed server, in which case it wouldn't be connected to the HIVE. If you had a server that was unofficial and locked, then perhaps you could set something up like this. If it were official, you wouldn't be allowed to lock it. If it wasn't locked, then you would have a lot of random people running into the crossfire of the clan vs. clan. Also hackers might end up popping in (perhaps friends of an opposing clan that's butthurt because they're losing). I've been reading through a lot of posts and threads about people who have had 'wars' with other clans. Generally these end up being unexpected occurances and tend to come out somewhat friendly. In fact, my clan had an encounter with Cherno's Finest (which were ironically in Elektro) and I was friendly about it. I don't think this is going to be possible with the current state of the game. Between hackers, bugs, and things that restrict the ability to actually host things like this legitmately. Just wanted to share my views. I've been discussing this with my group for nearly two weeks. Simple. Because it's more fun to play a PvP scenario when there is something to gain and something to lose. The rush of hours of hard work getting ready to flush down the drain is pretty intense. Just isn't the same if you can pick your gear and go after another squad... Everyone would be using L85's and AS50's.

Your post is right but it's also wrong... Your post says exactly this, just in a different context: "It's okay if you kill 50 civillians just as long as you kill 5 terrorists."

As much as I would love to disagree with you and defend the fact that they're trying... I don't think they are :\ Love the game, like a lot of the people who play and I enjoy server admins like you. I don't see any reason that this is has gone on this long. However, I know this thread is totally pissing in the wind... Nothing will be done about the hackers, simply because this is in Alpha. I suppose it's good that we're seeing how people are using cheats, scripts, pointers, etc to abuse aspects of the game. I guess it's better that it happens now and not after the game goes live. Maybe things will look up in the future, but I guess for now the main rule is as said before: "Don't get attached to your gear. Why? Because either a player, a zombie, a bug or a cheater is going to kill you." What I don't understand is why... Why would someone want to kill everyone on the server? It's pointless... My buddies had a theory... They think it's a lot of the people that come from FPS arcade games (like Call of Duty) and can't take the slow-paced, 30 minute flank gameplay. So since they don't like the game, they start googling for ways to cheat. I'm not sure... I could say so much on this topic that this post could take up an entire page but it isn't worth it really... Guess the best thing we can do is watch and wait. Best of luck to ya bud, you're not the only one getting irritated.

You kept respawning and zerggin' the shit outta the hill. xD We only had three people though, so I suppose you guys + the entire server would have eventually killed us. You're an idiot. I have 12 zombie kills and 18 murders. Every time I die, I have a teammate run to a tent, a vehicle, or secure my body. It's not difficult to get regeared and you're an idiot if you believe otherwise.

Yeah dude, my squad is looking for exactly this type of gameplay. I know it's hard to believe anyone, but if you guys want any help or whatever in these type of engagements, hit me up. We roll with about 8 people most of the time and we've been looking for this type of action; would love to get in on it.

Heh, you're mis-understanding DayZ a bit. The blue and white truck you're talking about is a 'Ural Civillian'. It's not filled with weapons when it first spawns, but the vehicles in this game tend to get horded. Most people hide those vehicles on the edge of the map and fill them with guns that they find after killing people or looting high-yield loot spawns. You can use this map to find the vehicle spawns. When a vehicle spawns, you'll need to repair and refuel it most likely. Hope that helps ;)

Woods are the best friend of a sniper. I can set a kilometer outside of Elektro with my AS50 and kill the snipers on Dobryy without a problem.

I'm sure that your outlook on PvP will change in about two weeks. Maybe less, depending on your ability to acquire gear. I'll sum it up for you: The game gets fairly boring after a week or two of getting items and then dying to various bugs. Generally you'll see people chillin' at Stary Sobor or the NWAF looking for people to engage. Some people just snipe others in Elektro for stupid reasons... This is pointless for many different reasons, but whatever. You'll end up getting bored and the only thing that will entertain you is PvP.
