    FPS Issues on Alienware M14x

Alienware might be a fancy name for a dell, but it doesn't defeat the fact that since Alienware has been around it has been posting most of the highest benchmarks on the most intense games. If any of you bothered to read his Diagnostics, you would notice that his rigs hardware is perfectly fine. I'm running a much lower-end PC and he's running the same FPS I am. My thoughts: Your PC probably came with some performance software which allows you to tweak the performance of your hardware, this is called overclocking. I believe you may have messed with these settings. If possible, return them to default. A second option is downgrading your Direct X version and seeing if you have better or worse FPS. Third, updating your driver software, generally you can find these with google. You have four gigs of Video memory, and 8 gigs of ram, your processor isn't bottlenecking the rest of your hardware, so it's obviously a software issue. If you've tried multiple different solutions to no avail, I would suggest formatting your PC's hard drive. This is a simple process that takes nothing but a bit of time. It will wipe your harddrive and install a fresh OS with nearly no drivers, so you'll need to update completely. After this, you should be running normally. Based off of a general idea, I'd vote you should run about 50 FPS on medium to high settings. Are there any other high quality games that you've played on your PC without any problems?
  2. Perhaps some effort should be placed on improving performance both server side and client side. I get some pretty hardcore FPS lag when I play DayZ, and since we're not allowed to use FPS helper mods, it makes it extremely irritating playing on a less advanced rig. I've ran into a few hackers that have dropped bombs on me while flying around a magic schoolbus, but I think the hacker situation is generally taken care of, so I'm not really going to complain about that. Although I haven't played long, DayZ seems to be progressing quite nicely. Good work P:

    [DayZMod] The Dayz Statistics thread!

This goes to show that DayZ is just a game for people to kill other people that are distracted.
  4. That's attractive. Wish I could run good enough FPS to record :c I noticed you have the light-blue 'all' chat, I don't have access to that :o

    Need Dayz Partner/Partners

Glad I noticed your thread, the group I'm with is looking for quite a few new members to add. We're a bit of a community, we play a lot of different games and we're in the process of setting up servers/clans in a lot of other games. We've been looking for folks to join us. If you're interested, PM me on the site and I'll give you some contact information :) Currently in our group, we have about seven people that play daily. We use Teamspeak 3 to communicate with each other because the in-game chat is a bit risky...
