    Go north. I made it from Komarovo to the airfield during nightime. Use flares in forests or unpopulated areas, go prone in towns and loot everything. It's not hard it's just tedious. You don't need to enter big towns in order to survive, hell, you don't need anything at all in order to survive except food and water, and food and water is plenty.
