Just get SixLauncher. It automatically downloads the update you need in order to join the server and allows you to browse servers. It's quick to install and fixed all my problems.

Yeah I would just install SixLauncher, it takes like 3 minutes to install, and it automatically updates for you whatever you need when you join a server

Just found a way to fix this. Start up operation arrowhead on steam normally, like you wanted to play singleplayer. The start menu will have a profile tab and go in there and make a new name. Worked perfect for me about 10 minutes ago

Last night I finally purchased Arma II operation arrowhead, after having Arma II for a while. I bought it for the sole reason of playing this game. Before installing any DayZ things I did run OA and play it for a bit. Then I installed it manually by placing the files in the addons folder of my expansion folder in my OA folder. I went to join a server but when I double click on any of them or press the join button while highlighted on them, NOTHING happened. All the servers had a red X to the left of there titles and said they required 1.61. So I downloaded patch 95054 and installed it. Now the same thing still happens. It still says "requires 1.61", meanwhile right above that it says I currently have 1.61. Any solutions to this problem?

Thanks for that, I installed SixLauncher and I became able to join the servers. Except now, it says "bad player name". Any idea how to fix this? EDIT* If anyone has the problems they are simple and easy to fix. First start up Operation Arrowhead alone and go into the profile tab on the main menu and make a new name. Then go online and install SixLauncher. Sixlauncher will enable you to join any server without error and the new profile will remove the bad player name problem.
