    [DayZ Origins] #GX EU20 - ARCUS

The website is now up an running again. http://www.arcus-gaming.com And we're now seeing a lot more new faces on the server.
  2. Official DayZ Origins #GX EU20 - ARCUS (1.7.5/103419) [4h Day/Night] IP: 188.165.255.175:2802 http://www.arcus-gaming.com Hello people. Arcus, the admins of the old official EU20 (from the official hive) are back with a new Origins server. We've built a decent player base but are looking for more fresh people to join us. 3rd person = on Crosshairs = on Name plates = off Forum and Teamspeak will be up and running again shortly. This server will be around for the long run so you don't have to worry about the server shutting down. We recently switched to a French host so we have a new IP now: 188.165.255.175:2802 The server is the same so all characters, gear, vehicles, houses and such are still there, it's just the IP that have changed. We're serious about administrating this server and will not treat our own any different than a regular user, so there will be no admin abuse. We have active admins which prioritizes our players experience on our server. Hope to see you around! Cheers! -rB0rlax
  3. Glad to hear! You must be one of the old EU20 guys from back in the days?
  4. Team-Arcus.com (1.1.1/98866) [Veteran][GMT -2] Private Hive | DayZ.st We ([ARCUS]) got tired of all the admin abuse on many of the private hive servers so the old admins of EU20 back in the days got together and hosted a new lingor server. The reason we stopped hosting EU20 was because there were no way to protect our players from hackers. This is not the case anymore and we're aiming to make this server as secure as we possibly can. Therefore we will implement a whitelist system in the near future, you will be able to apply in the forums, but for now, anyone can join that isn't banned. Feel free to play with us and join our forum. Regarding the server though, it runs the latest version of Lingor Island with "Veteran" settings. It runs DayZ Bliss so all the features of Bliss is there. It's hosted in Amsterdam so anyone in Europe should get good ping. Our admin team is very serious and would never abuse our powers and will provide support to our players as much as we can, don't be afraid to ask if you've got questions. We always warn in advance before restarts so people can get to safe spots. We're also looking to implement more features in the future, like base building and such. We are always happy to get suggestions from the public, so please feel free to tell us what you think and we will try to get it in there if we can. Our simple forum is just up so feel free to join and we'll add more info shortly. www.Team-Arcus.com Hope to see you around! -[Arcus] Sitrec

Actually' date=' if you watch the streams, you will see many Russians have excellent ping to US servers. When I was in NZ, I would often get pings of 80 or 90 to US West coast servers despite being a long way away. Many factors affect it. And in fact, I think you'll find the late adopters of the internet actually win out. Places like Australia and New Zealand laid a lot of copper wire early, and they have some of the shittiest internet in the world. Some of the lower socioeconomic countries I have been too actually had awesome internet because it is all recent, newly laid fiber. And I'm a realist, not an idealist. I don't want a project I set the vision for to be associated with racism. As said just before, not because it will make any difference (it won't) but on the basis of principle. Ping is a question of practicality, battlefield triage. Someone has to die, use a scientific method that is arbitrary. Distance does not imply culture or rare or language. It implies distance. [/quote'] I totally understand and accept your point of view, but i do not think this is about racism (although there are obviously some that are going for the racist approach about this which i highly condemns). There are plenty of countries with extremely bad internet connections that will not be able to play on a single server. This is extremely unfortunate for them but just like you and Mojo say this is not about racism, just like i don't think restricting languages in global also is not related to racism but rather helping admins administrate and prevent racism by being able to monitor the chat. Just trying to point out that not everything related to different people and countries is about racism. Thanks for posting your view on this though. Glad to see that the devs are active in the community.

While i do agree with this i just kind of think that kicking people because they're far away and therefore have high ping kinda contradicts the whole "let people play with everyone from everywhere" approach.

Just thought of something. Kicking players that have high ping is pretty much also preventing people from far away to play with people of other parts of the world isn't it? There are plenty of countries that have less advanced internet connections than those with the faster ones, are they not allowed to play with others then? Just want to clarify, I do accept and respect your rules, just want to hear your opinion on this as it's almost the same thing as kicking because of language.

At the same time, what if there were for example Swedish (just another example since everyone seems hung up on Russians) speakers on an English server talking in global about them using hacks in the game? Or maybe being racist in their own language so that the admins can't see it? Just saying, it would be really hard to enforce these rules if the admin isn't even able to understand what is written. This isn't being racist, it's an administration issue. I think admins should be able to have rules for languages to be used in global chat while the direct communications can be used to speak in whatever language people prefer. This way you can use your multilingual skills to prevent others from understanding and so on and so forth. While this thread from the beginning might be about racism i just simply want to point out that not everything is related to racism and there are more views to an issue like this than just the simplest hateful one. I speak and understand three languages but i do not use my mother tongue or my third one in chat if I'm playing at an English server. Just like i don't expect to be allowed to speak Swedish on let's say a French one. It's a matter about respecting the admins.

If someone were to kick players after the first warning that speak a different language, not only Russian but rather all languages that aren't English for example. Would that be okay or is that against the rules? This is not out of racism at all. I'm not even a native English speaker and would not like to see any of my mother tongue (Swedish) in the chat if i hosted one either. So it's all about keeping to one language for the server so those who play there know that they will understand each other. I'm totally 100% against racism but i do think servers should be able to warn then kick players that doesn't respect a simple rule like this. Is that okay or do you think that counts as racism as well? Just want to know in case i would want to host one. I do however respect the rules if this would be against them.

Just got killed and with tears in your eyes you now feel like you have to bash on the game because you can't handle it? That's classy. At least write some constructive criticism when you feel the need to whine. Also i completely disagree.

    Location reset

Hi, I've tried to find any info about this but haven't been able to. What is it that is causing the location reset? when it happened during the 17th there was a post explaining that some database had corrupted. But it have happened again today for me and my friends and i wonder if it's the same issue or if we're doing something wrong? It's pretty frustrating getting thrown back to the beach every time we've wandered for hours trying to reach the airfield or something. Every time it happens some of us dies on the beach and it takes a pretty long while to get ready again and finding each other. So i just want to check in case there is something players can do that is causing it or if the database have corrupted again? Thanks in advance!
