Do tell? I've never had it work in the middle of the ocean.

    How Low Can You Get?

Obviously it spawns there, but what you are trying to say is people don't land it there? Really?
  3. Luckiest: I spawned into the pub in Elektro (pretty bad place to log out/in really) and looked out the window at 3 geared players inside of the supermarket, who parked the van(forgot name) right outside. I tagged all 3 and got their stuff and their vehicle. Highlights being a rangefinder, M4CCOSD, and NVG's along with enough parts in the van to keep me going for a while. Unluckiest: I had broken my legs in northern berezino by the church (boo Mike Tyson Zombie punches) and crawled all the way to the hospital roof for a morphine. When I used the morphine my guy took a single step back straight off the roof and died. I lost a pretty much completely geared character. That single incident was the the most utterly frustrating thing I've experienced in the game other than pine tree's breaking limbs. Still could have been worse though.

and hoes? Haha No, you need to be near the shore to empty a jerry can into it. Which sucks, but that's how it is at the moment.

    How Low Can You Get?

This is exactly what came to mind for me. A lot of people put Huey's on the island, and defend it. Also, if I see someone swimming out to the island and they have anything but a coyote patrol pack on, on my server, they get shot. Pretty much no one swims out to the island with an alice pack on for no reason haha. Even if the guy knew the current situation of what was on/wasn't on the island, it's still a murder token for... well, murderers. Not exactly fair game, but murderers only kill for shits-n-giggles and "fair game" isn't in their vocabulary.
  6. In a video game an already in-place script can override the functions of your mouse. The mouse still has home-system priority, but may not function in the game. Kind of how a character may interact with his/her environment through an in-game cutscene (similar to a couple other games). So yeah, it can't TECHNICALLY override mouse functions, but it can take priority. Which, if the story is accurate, is probably what happened here. Also, this was in relation to THIS game. Scripts in this game would be hard pressed, damn near impossible, to fully manipulate a mouse. BUT, outside of this game, there are scripts that can override mouse control such as python scripts(easy to use, user friendly ones for remote tasks), and take control of it. Just to clear up any confusion. These scripts involve more than just a script obviously, but the script is the master/executable and it controls the other variables involved in taking over the mouse.
  7. You cared enough to post in the thread, and cared enough to tell everyone in it off. You know what I hate? The people who whine and complain about the whiners and complainers. At least the whiners bring something to the table to discuss.
  8. I simply CANNOT be the only person who could care less about another map. If you make Chernarus perfect and function flawlessly in the scope of what the mod/eventual game is trying to be, It will be absolutely amazing. I would rather the team add more enter-able buildings in Chernarus than start work on something new. A seamless experience is what I want, not a bunch of "do-overs" in the form of additional maps.
  9. Neat. I'll give it a check-out/peek-see/gander, what have you.

    Lol @ hack post surge.

See, I don't know about that. I haven't experienced much myself, really anything detrimental to me at all, but it's not hard to find the information. A quick forum browse on general, or a site-wide search yields a TON of information regarding the problems. This is all without even venturing to YouTube, which has more videos on the subject than you can shake a stick at, at the moment.

    Lol @ hack post surge.

I haven't seen it happening, must not be happening. I thoroughly enjoy hampering my possible enjoyment of the game, in servers with lots of players, because of the chance I might run into hackers. So I stay out of sight in my corner of the server world and laugh at those who don't. >That's how your post reads to me. Like it or not. I have no qualms when it comes to the subject, nor have I seen more than 2 hackers in all my time playing. But that doesn't mean I don't acknowledge the issue and how frustrating I'm sure it is. By the way, LOL at the amount of THESE posts/threads.

    B.I. doesn't give a shit about you...

Right, but your stance is totally valid though hunh man? Cool story.... Too bad I don't even get semantics and armchair lawyer from you. I get some moron typing "fuck off, faggot" every other post. Like that solidifies your point, HAHA. All I see is stupid. How's that for a human response? How you feel screwed over by a company who won't support a third party mod you never even had to download/pay-for is laughable. If you can't see why, that's your fault not mine.

    How Long Do You Scout?

There isn't a time that I stop scouting really. I always make sure where I'm going is safe, minutes before I actually go there. That being said I don't even go into places like Cherno/Elektro/ anymore. I make a couple trips with a small squad to Stary/NWA every once in a while but that's as far as I push it. I basically only put my self into harms way, and die, when I choose too. It's really not that hard to keep yourself safe in this game. Not since everyone left the north and started playing Free-For-All in Cherno.

    B.I. doesn't give a shit about you...

Is this a joke? Am I missing something? You're just insulting everyone who disagree's with you and refusing to acknowledge another opinion/side of the story. Wow. Get your facts straight and quit brandishing nonsensical objective ramblings littered with vulgar and rude obscenities little boy.
  15. I personally find the crossbow outclassed by the hatchet. I NEVER pick one up. It's a cool novelty weapon that has a niche use, but the hatchet works just as well for an early game silent killer. Each bolt takes up an inventory slot, which is the deal breaker for me. Yeah you're supposed to be able to pick em back up, but they glitch out and shit and you lose em 30-50% of the time anyways. So it sucks... On another note, it's silent only to zombies. Players can hear it. Just as it is with silenced guns. I don't know about you... but I'd rather have a silenced M9/hatchet when a survivor runs into the building I'm in over a damn crossbow.

So is this a zombie survival game?

THIS is what the community is turning into, and it's pathetic. These people didn't exist on this board, or at least did in VERY small numbers, when this mod came out. Now we have these trolling little bastards everywhere. Steam summer sale for the loss... OP, don't mind the hormone raging, homophobic, parental issue, teenagers on here. But to relate to a couple other concepts I saw trying to creep through in these posts, it sounds to me like you aren't playing very cautiously. I play on a good 8 or so servers and RARELY do I die within the first 60 minutes. Freak accidents and greed do happen though haha. At the least I keep a character for a few hours before I get greedy and a bandit puts me in my place. I've also played a few characters passed the one week mark just to see how many zombie kills I can rack up looking for those mythical heli crash sites I can never seem to find. So far 602 is the highest :). But see, it's really not that hard. If I can do it, anyone can do it. I'm not some mythical gaming god. I'm probably towards the shitty side of the player spectrum in everything except sniping. I recommend you focus less on the "you dying" concept and focus more on the "why am I dying?". Obviously if you die 5 times in an hour, you need to do something completely different the 6th time. Repeating what you're doing is getting you killed, it's obviously not a viable survival strategy. Also, as others have stated, Bandits and those shits-n-giggles murderers are COMPLETELY different breeds. There is a distinction, and you need to find it.
  17. I voted "hell yes" but with a disclaimer*. * They do not need to be removed permanently, that's stupid. In concept they serve a wonderful purpose, just currently in the alpha when put into practice they only mess shit up. They need to be fixed, not removed. If one of the construction pieces were to be removed, I'd vote tank traps. They have their share of bugs, and are damn near impossible to remove sometimes. I've also had a couple flat out cripple me when trying to maneuver around them.
  18. One of the only items, outside of a radio, I've yet to pick up in this game. If that says anything about rarity. Good luck getting one, where and how has already been explained by others.
  19. I had something similar happen in the tri-story office building in northern Berezino the other day. Out by the docks area. Someone in the group fired off a round to kill a zed walking in, and then an absolutely MASSIVE left for dead style horde came pouring into the building. It took the 3 of us multiple clips each to put down what seemed like 70-80 zeds. My debug counter went up by around 35-40, so I know there were at LEAST 50 due to my group shooting a good amount themselves. I have no idea what triggered it, but honestly, it was awesome. I wish more things like that happened more often. A ravaging horde every now and again keeps you on your toes.

When you see another random player you.....

    5. Wait for a bit to see if a shot rings out, and if it does, instantly ALT+F4..... isn't that what everyone does?

US 853 [VIDEO TRIBUTE TO NON-DCERS]

Those are some terrible snipers. Like, wow. Once you were out in the hay fields it's a rough shot, but before that was cake. MAJOR kudos for not dcing though. I can't even find myself in a firefight situation like that anymore. As soon as a shot rings out everyone disconnects. It's lame.
  23. thepcv

    Can't even launch the game

Maybe you should do some research beforehand that way you don't look so dumb to everyone else.

  25. Hey guys/gals, First post so don't hit me too hard if this is in the wrong section, or even forum all together haha. I just figured someone here may know of a solution or will be able to shed a little light on my issue. Basically since I installed the DayZ mod, though it happened occasionally in vanilla A2 before this, the server browser will temporarily disconnect me from my internet when I use it. As in when I go to log into a server, hop into the browser, if I'm not in a server within 5 seconds I lag out and momentarily lose network connection for about 2 minutes. Now this problem only happens with ArmaII/DayZ browsers. I've consistently had this issue every single time I use ArmaII browser, Six Launcher and DayZ Commander. I figured at first it may be a firewall issue, but my allowances are set appropriately, or at least I'm 90% sure they are. I then thought it could of been a series of bandwidth leak issues with the browsers meaning my internet connection is not able to tolerate a leak that large and shuts me out momentarily. Thus far I've been unable to locate any information on how "inefficient" the browser system is though. So I'm sort of at a loss of a next step and am hoping someone a bit more savvy on ArmaII/DayZ issues can help out. I can still play the game fine, because I usually have a friend find a server / use one I'm familiar with, and hop on as fast as possible to get out of browser before a disconnect. But, this is not how I want to continue to do things haha. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
