Bit of an aggressive tone but I agree with the sentiment. I will be purchasing the standalone on day one. I have a lot of admiration and hope for Rocket. He's gonna do something fucking amazing! Cheers to everyone involved with DayZ!

A lot of people do. I have an old computer by comparison to some people having the issue yet get the same frames as them. Supposedly it's an optimisation issue. A lot of the modifications stretch the arma engine a little out of what it was intended to do. Particularly things like loot spawning. I've had some very MINOR success with tweaks. The best tweak I used was maxframesahead if you have an Nvidia. It really made a difference I could see. Try some optimising but don't hold your breath. A lot of it is server side. It's been said repeatedly but it is a mod in alpha and has been pushed way beyond the expectations that Rocket had. I assume this is partly why he's really rushing to a standalone so he can resume his experiment without the bugs, which are probably the most frustrating thing about DayZ. Be patient for the stand alone and give some of the tweaking guides a shot. They may break you back into playable fps. -

They spawn in military loot drops on occasion. Deer stands probably your safest bet. EDIT: Yeah actually hunting is your best bet :P. -

1. Yes. 1 meat. Not worth it unless they stop right next to you and you really need food. Or you like the target practice. (I do) 2. I think there is an end, but I've heard it's about 6 or 7 times the distance of map - so 1.5k kms. I would imagine an invisible wall. Not confirmed though. 3. I use in game menu for finding servers. All the 3rd party apps miss servers at times. Don't know why but I've used a few different ones and always had this issue. 4. Not sure, I wouldn't mind knowing the answer too! 5. Yep, bug at the moment. As far as I know is 100% of the time. Drop backback on the ground before putting clothes on. 6. Usually an incorrect patch or installation I believe. -

Which is why the world needs to be infinitily harder. Zombies as they are currently just annoy. They do not have a challenge whatsoever. Hence hunting players becomes the challenge. Rocket is well aware of this as he is extremely switched on with his game design theories. I spend a lot of time watching him in interviews. Have faith in the Rocket. He knows his shit and will deliver something unbelievable at the end of this journey. -
How would you rather pay for it? - Game purchase only? (Guild Wars stylez) You've said it in every interview, minecraft model. Small fee, you get to keep developing the game over time. Love it. Also: - Community developed or studio developed? To be honest, either. I have faith that you could deliver a solid game without the continued Alpha testing. - Community or studio servers? or both? Both. - Kickstarter? or not? If you think it would benefit the project then sure. Although I personally have heard of a lot of scams on Kickstarter and am weary about sinking money into it.

Post here if Game is unplayable for you due to Low FPS

I can confirm a massive FPS hit in 1.7.2.4. Previous couple of patches had bumped it up slightly for me to playable but this has dipped me back down into unplayable land. Cities are sub 10 frames, even the beach is running at about 20 frames now. Was double those numbers last patch. I have an old computer but it runs arma 2 on high settings at decent fps, skyrim at 60 fps on medium. Same issue as everyone else really, changing the graphics settings seems to have no effect at all which is odd. -

I love playing alone and can do so quite easily. A good solid run of Cherno or Elektro and I'm set to head off to lower risk areas. I think you just need more time to learn.

Player names - Calvin - VoLLi We logged on into our camp north of the airfield, 2 other players online. After a couple of minutes we hear shots and my someone dies. More shots and my mate dies. I'm not 100% sure if it's hackers or a ridiculous coincidence. We haven't logged on for a couple of days so it seems a bit suss that within a minute of logging on in a base a good 30 minutes walk from anything of note that my mate got shot. I logged, M107, wasn't risking it to a possible hacker. Don't know if the admin can check or whatever but yeah.
