Why do you need two main weapons?

I've never seen the need for that second main weapon, assuming you can find the right sidearm. I've taken to keeping revolvers or PDW's handy for Zeds, keep my main ready for other players.
  2. This is a bad thread. This is a good post. This post to tell you all my opinion on the matter is not a good post, it doesn't need to be, it's as bad as the rest of this thread only without the poorly constructed morality debate. I'm ok with that.

Want to make a difference in DayZ?

Hospital runs are about the safest things you can do unless the only one you know of is Elektro. Don't get me wrong, that other thread was outright retarded but don't underestimate bandits, they may be greedy, nasty and cruel but they're also often pragmatic, driven and with the equipment to back it up. A few bandits determined to end something will succeed, especially with an idea like this, all they have to do is hit all the nodes, empty everything out onto the ground and continue on. Pretty much instantly the system is broken beyond repair until the bandits are dealt with.

It doesn't matter if one mouse gets away, the cat knows that even more are just around the corner. Bandit groups don't collapse on themselves for the simple fact that there's always more survivors to kill. As long as there's survivors to kill and loot, there will continue to be bandits.

Putting the Good Stuff in OUR Hands

This. I hope one of them does. Medical supplies aren't worth setting up an ambush for, they're simply not worth that level of effort. Any player worth their salt should have sufficient supplies from the bodies of others, failing that they'll know how easy it is to source more from one of the hospitals. The only items worth going out of your way to acquire are Coyote Elites, Nightvision Goggles, Rangefinders and the ever illusive Mountain Dew.
  6. It's all about risk versus reward. You can desperately try to make ends meet from scavenging, fighting off hordes of zombies, risking your life at every turn or save on effort, danger and time by simply taking it from another player. However I should mention that I'm not hunting down players like I used to, I've moved on to something better. Now I roam empty parts of the map looking for bases, grabbing what I can then demolishing the rest before moving on. And sometimes, if I'm lucky, I stumble across a few players guarding their precious base.

    You sound upset.

    Anti-bandit squad

They have to be. I want to believe that no one can be this stupid.
  12. My old group had a great way of dealing with annoying people. We shot them. It didn't matter who it was, if they started having a hissy fit, throwing a tantrum or just generally being a dipshit, bam, dead and were moving on.

Why are people calling zombies zeds?

I honestly didn't think about it too much, Zed's just seemed to roll off the tongue and I've stuck with it ever since. As for the individual Zed types, Walkers, Hoppers and Crawlers.
  14. I suggested bringing back bandit skins' date=' but I got only hostile replies and posts about how the original bandit skin makes them "A beacon" and "a 25 ft flashing arrow above bandits heads" [/quote'] The current system of hearing their heart rate isn't too bad, the problem is figuring out an appropriate tell without sacrificing immersion.

    Freeside Trading Co.

Very chaotic :D Two died to an accidental grenade (let's ban those' date=' k?), one to a sniper. We got the sniper and a thief that ran into the camp. We were in the area for around 3 hours. Things to take away: -We need more organization in our comms channels -We need fewer static guards at the camp, and more mobile ones -We need to make sure everyone understands the ROE -We need to have good trigger discipline and call our shots [i']before we fire Sounds a bit messy. I hope you guys continue, I might make the trip next time so I sincerely hope you'll continue organising these events. Anyway best of luck in the future and I'll be checking back later for more dates.
