Can't comment specifically on the blaze, but in terms of the mosin in team play is just depends on if you plan on doing overwatch or if you typically go in a bit closer. The mosin can be used in close to mid range combat if you choose your shots right, but there are better alternatives. If you do enjoy overwatch then you're golden.

Leading is really just having a feel for it, but usually the problem I see is people will either hardly lead at all or be too aware of it and either lead too much or not focus on landing the shot vertically. If you have Arma games, I recommend you practice with those to get a feel for it and just calibrate in DayZ, otherwise get lots of ammo, head into the North on an empty server, and fire off shots at different ranges. Get an idea for how long it takes from the time you pull the trigger to the when you see the bullet hitting your target, going in 100m or 200m increments. Then just get a feel for player speed and plug in how far someone can run in a certain time with how long it takes your bullet to reach them. At the end of the day though, even the best shots will have trouble with hitting targets far off who are juking properly. I know you briefly address the 50m thing, but I'll say something quick on that. TBH, unlike a lot of games, in Arma and DayZ close quarters can be up to 100m, sometimes 150m depending, so there's no need to try and use a sniper. If the sniper is all you have, you won't need to really lead at all in CQB, and in the case of DayZ, you may just want to take off the LRS if you can to have my accurate shots. You can keep a PU scope on hand if you don't like iron sights.

Need Medical Assistance in DayZ SA ? Find Your medic here!
herrjon replied to TMWMarijke's topic in General Discussion
That as well as O+ can only give to + blood types and not negatives. As a general rule for now we only carry O- so we don't have to test our patient's blood. Appreciate the thought though. -

Sounds good, we'll be glad to help. Otherwise I don't know what shirt you're wearing or how much free space you have, but most shirts you can tear into rags and use those to stop the bleeding. -
Need Medical Assistance in DayZ SA ? Find Your medic here!

Hi there folks! If you are still waiting for assistance, just head to the team speak server ts.tmwdayz.com and find a medic. -
There are a few things I'd like to clear up here, and then I recommend we get back on topic of trading and such. TMW does not seek revenge on actions done out of fair play. We do not discriminate playstyle and all are welcome to come to us for help. If someone however attempts to harm us we do react with appropriate force. For those that attempt to deceive us by posing as patients, they are blacklisted. As for clan servers and private teamspeaks, we do not own a Standalone server at this time, but if your concern is admin abuse and such, we have owned a DayZ mod server for quite some time now and have been very fair with outside players, and it has maintained activity even through the dead times. As for our teamspeak, it's a public teamspeak with no password; you're welcome to join it any time (ts.tmwdayz.com). And while we do have private channels, general gameplay is done in the open channels and staff channels have an open door policy. It's fine if you don't like us, it's fine however you play the game. I just want to make sure you have your facts straight. That's all that will be said on that topic, let the trading commence.

Need Medical Assistance in DayZ SA ? Find Your medic here!
herrjon replied to TMWMarijke's topic in General Discussion
I won't be able to help you personally (not at my computer atm) but I strongly advise that you log out immediately unless you're unconscious and head to the teamspeak server ts.tmwdayz.com to find a medic. We don't discriminate playstyle or look, so long as you cooperate with us, we'll cooperate with you. -
It's not really that there aren't enough hotspots in other areas, it's just those areas aren't "hot enough" to make the trip worth it. You can find anything you would ever need relatively quickly within 1-2 clicks off the coastline, so you don't have to go very far and if you die you know you can get back in time. You're basically putting in the extra time to travel all the way across Chenarus to get maybe a slightly better loot haul. The loot is great, but for most, it's not great enough to put in the time when they can just walk along the coast. You can also use to the coastal road/train track as a navigational crutch so you always know where you are. I bet a lot of your run of the mill bandits wouldn't even know how to make their way to NWAF without a compass and DayZ DB, and even then I bet they'd get lost. Now apart from things I mentioned before (like those damn military tent spawns) one thing that could help as well is random spawns inland as well. Just all over the map so you wouldn't know where you'd end up. I didn't make sense in the mod because NWAF was the end all destination due to exclusive military loot (and high concentration compared to other locations) and you didn't want some people spawning close and getting the phat lewts first, but now that most areas are generally comparable loot wise, save for maybe central north atm, I personally don't see a problem with people spawning all over the map.
-
It depends on how I'm feeling. Generally I'll be very careful, especially if a patient or medical supplies are on the line, always scouting and watching out, as well as keeping up the pace and not being a sitting duck (once I leave the treeline). Other times I'll go running into a known active area without a care in the world, and just doing my best to maintain reasonable cover and reposition when I can. I would of course though be doing things like jumping into the line of fire just for the rush and running up to a fully geared guy laying on a pile of corpses and saying hello. In either case my life expectancy is great. You can make it work however you go about it.
-
Admittedly it isn't nearly as balanced as the mod, but the mod worked due to exclusive loot as well as vehicles and camps. You could only get blood bags and epi-pens on the coast and you could only get the 1337 uber awesome guns/NVG's/Rangefinders in the 2 barracks and heli crashes, and then plenty of isolated areas on the outskirts. The number of supermarkets along the western belt also helped, since tents were always sought after. Now admittedly it is focused on the coast atm, but a few basic things my fix that. First of all simply getting military tents to spawn loot would shift the focus back to the NWAF and Starry. Then of course as they get new places added, and then hunting and camps and such. It'll even out, we're just waiting.

This tends to happen for tmw as we look for a good server and just join on each other, but we're usually all over the place. I will say though I run no tags; stay low key for those that do go clan hunting.
-
Like I said in my previous post, in TMW we don't seek to kill, attack, torture or anything of that nature, regardless of their playstyle. We will however respond with appropriate force when either our lives are in immediate danger or the lives of our patients are at risk. I personally have 48 of my slots dedicated to medical supplies (10 first aid kits/protector cases with meds and 4 bags of rice) but I do have a kitted Mosin (unloaded) and a stack 7.62mm ammo if someone does feel like attacking the needy and care givers. If I do die in an Op, I don't mind. We have S&L and it gives me something to do on the off time. It just bothers me when a patient dies, which has only happened once thankfully.
-
OP was trolling for a reaction and you gave it to him, congrats.
-
Hello, I do just want to say OP I respect you have your particular playstyle and want to let you know if you or your friend do find yourself in a time of medical need you're more them welcome to seek help from TMW. The quickest option would be to head to our teamspeak server ts.tmwdayz.com. And just for general information, while TMW does not kill, attack, torture, or anything of the sort, we will however react with appropriate force when threatened, and we do have security measures in place for the protection of our medics and patients. Have a nice day.

Operation "Sanctuary" safe zone calling all heroes (Event Ended)
herrjon replied to thelonewarrior's topic in General Discussion
Not necessarily. The fact that it's on the coast cuts off about 160 degrees of area to cover, and with how flat and open north Berezino is, the only real vantage points are on top of buildings, which can all be covered with the highest point of the smokestack. There's only a couple entry points that are concealed, so all you need is a couple overwatch and a ground team to patrol the area around the gas station and train station and you have the area basically locked down. Unfortunately this doesn't prevent ghosting, but there's only so much you can do. -
Operation "Sanctuary" safe zone calling all heroes (Event Ended)

Seems like an interesting idea. I do personally feel it could get a bit dull without a specific purpose such as a blood drive or something, but by the sounds of it you can keep things going. I'd also think without any storage system resources would run dry pretty quickly quickly, but that just depends on interest and what people have to offer. I do also see the possibility of the server being released and all the "bandits" and such just flood the server and sit on the slots. But at any rate I'm interested to hear how it goes. -
Last time I died in SA was early on when they purposely wiped the entire database. My mod character is too damn old and I'm about ready to ride my motorcycle off a cliff. Some people may hatch plans and such, but they either feel bad and do go through with it or I don't give them a chance. We have security measures for a reason and can handle ourselves. As would be on topic, I try not to frequent the coastal deathmatch zones to help out freshies, as a lot of them are just bandits that recently died in a firefight and are looking for a quick regear, but I have had some successful encounters when having to heal unconscious patients. Otherwise I'll just leave the coastline for the bandit hunters and wannabe police to sort out. I'll stick to my trees, rocks, and reasonable people.
-
I'm inland for the most part, only heading to the coast for patients. Part of it is I enjoy the scenery and wandering around in the forests and mountains of the north. The other part is the loot is better and people are less crazy and unpredictable. I think too I just got sick of water after living on Skalisty Island or Rify and riding the coast on my PBX in the mod. But that's neither here nor there.
-
I come out of the woods to medic, grab some food, and most importantly shower. That and I never seem to be around when we get hardcore patients.
-
Based on the fact that it's the map from the mod, I assume it's a heat map from the mod. I'm sure for SA right now it's more coastal. You have 3 basic types of people for this sort of thing. Coastal Deathmatch people, server hoppers, and hermits/nomads who go to the weirdest of places. I fall in the latter. My HC character has been hiking about 1 km North of the northern railway for a couple of weeks now, playing about a 1/2 hour a day.

Can you wake up from unconsciousness or not?
herrjon replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in New Player Discussion
If you go unconscious from shock, it'll only take a few minutes to wake up. If you go unconscious from blood loss, you'll need someone to wake you up unless you're not bleeding AND you're energized and not thirsty. You'll be regening then and you'll be back up in about 10-15 minutes.
