Typically night time servers don't have many players on them, except for those that have NVG's, so you'll want to look for daytime for a number of reasons. If you use Dayz commander you can see how many players are currently in the server and about what time it is, based on the posted timezone. What filters do you have set, and what dayz and Arma II patch do you have installed? If you want the full list, you'll have to update both of those via commander and clear all filters except "hide unofficial". Refreshing the servers and restarting commander also helps. If you want a good public server with active admins, check out US2419 or EU2419.

Rocket isn't actively working on the mod anymore, but he still approves of any changes to it, since it is his game and he wants the identity of the mod to not go too far off base.

Yeah, definately don't do the ATC tower and I personally don't even do the hangers unless I know it's safe and the barracks and firehouse didn't have anything worthwhile. I typically will head in from the North, go straight for the north barracks, back into the forest, check out the firehouse, then back into the forest and make a wide arc around the East side and head for the south barracks. Should've also mentioned that 3 of those barracks you looted were part of the custom map like you did the other buildings, and that only 2 of them are actually on vanilla servers, one at 046 048 and the other at 046 057.

Decent guide. I tend to just stick to the forest and pop in and out at the spots I need, but your way works too. Just a note though, I saw you have an NWAF one. You really should keep all youtube video posts in on thread, preferably in the OP.

No, that's the only thing. And the appearance is only the head. You'll still have the same humanity, skin, gear and location with any player profile, and it's one of the only things that is persistent through private hive.

Just make sure you're in cover and bring up the options menu when you do it. If not, you could misfire and end up shooting one of your friends and/or give away your position and draw aggro.

From a visual standpoint, I think it would be a good thing to not have any distinct visible tell of who's a bandit or hero. We are all individuals with different playstyles, not just falling in 1 of 3 categories. As far as rewards, I know Rocket has mentioned skills or jobs and whatnot, an since the current Hero of Dayz is basically a medic, you'll get to do a lot more on the medical side than your average joe I would assume. That and the thanks of my patients is the only reward I'll need.

Sounds to me like you may have double tapped alt and toggled free look. Just double tap again and you're good.

Vanilla Dayz on a map other than Chenarus. (no custom spawn gear, scarce vehicles, etc.) Obvious troll is obvious.

Don't worry about the armory thing, you just need to run them to the title menu. Just reinstall dayz via dayz commander and update Arma II beta. You don't have to download the other expansions unless you plan on playing those. Not sure precisely what your problem in, but that irons out most. Maybe telling us which servers you are getting this error on would help. Whitelisting is only allows approved people in, and uses your GUID, not your CD key.

You already have 3 other threads advertising your server. Stick to one, it's the rules.

What you really shoul do is go to Green Mountain at the dead of night, armed only with a Lee Enfield. Start a campfire an see how long you last. You'll be fine...

Good tips, and they're not nessarily useful for just those buildings. Stay low and be quick are words to live by.

Just buy Arma II CO off steam and download dayz from dayzcommander. Simple and safe.

You need to upgrade or buy a new computer. Specifically for Arma it's CPU intensive so you can start there. One thing you can do now is not put it on the lowest settings. Your computer actually has to work harder to render the low setting graphics than it does the medium. There are plenty of guides on youtube and the forum that can help you change your settings to get the most frames you can out of a bad computer.

This is simply a choice of the server. I should hope it gives you a warning of when it's going to restart, this typically shows up in the chat area. I suggest finding another server if you want to keep your stuff.

Yeah, not the typical experience DayZ intended. It can be quite fun, but I do suggest playing on a vanilla server to get a good feel for surviving before you get too used to the map.
