If it's using the ArmA 3 engine (which it sounds like it likely will be) then the system requirements are going to be even higher than ArmA 2. Also, LOL @ all the "it's going to be on it's own custom engine"...Yeah, no. I don't think BIS/Rocket are going to throw away all of the work put into the RVS engine and start from scratch for this game.

You sound like some sort of DayZ hipster/elitist. You admit that "99%" of players would play PvE if given the option, but then complain that it shouldn't be added, because you want everyone to have a "singular experience"? What? Why should everyone want to play the game like you want to play it? And again, for the 100th time, it wouldn't have to be forced on everybody. PvP players can play PvP and PvE players can play PvE. Completely separate servers/characters.

TBH, it doesn't even matter who it was. It's a clear and blatent misuse of admin powers regardless of who was killed.

What DayZ is, is an ALPHA mod. Alpha, meaning not feature complete (that would be Beta). Thus, "what it is" is not finalized yet.

Wow. Massive entitlement. As has been repeated numerous times, you never paid for DayZ. You paid for ArmA 2 CO. It doesn't matter if you don't play ArmA 2, that is what you purchased. That's like buying Half-Life, getting Counter-Strike, and then being pissy that a stand-alone came out because you "paid to play Counter-Strike". Oddly enough, I did not see much, if any whining about that...

I don't see why there couldn't be a mode for PvE that people could choose to play if they wanted. It's not taking away from the people who want to do "classic" PvP. No one is talking about forcing people to do it that don't want to. And as for "ruining the game" and "not how it's meant to be", who are you to say how someone should play or want to play the game?

If it's a private server then the general "rules" here don't really apply. Aren't private servers against the "rules" in the first place?

ArmA 2 is just kind of that way when it comes to towns. You said you've tried lowering your settings, but I would recommend no higher than 3000 (possibly lower) on VD and turning Terrain Detail down to Normal if you haven't already. Those two settings seem to make the biggest difference for me in terms of FPS around large cities like Chernogorsk.

I was wondering what the eff this was when we were playing the other night, lol. About 4 of us were up on a roof and there were some zombies down on the ground but they weren't getting to us, and at least 2 of our guys were moaning over and over and over. It got annoying really fast, and it was kind of nonsensical when you think about it, since we were in no imminent danger.
