DayZ is a Zombie (infected) survival simulator. You are renting your characters life, when you re-spawn you are then renting a different characters life. I think that maps should be bigger and you should spawn at the opposite side to where you died. This would place more importance on staying alive and actually suriving. True teamwork should then show through by your mates/clan retreating to regroup with you and giving you equipment/supplies and then moving forward again. Half the immersion factor of DayZ is the time invested into your character and the fact that you should (hopefully with standalone and no duping) really work for what you have. My 2c anyways.

I started playing the highest pop servers I could find. I spawned 3 times in the same spot the other night (near docks in Cherno). I found a friendly with an AS50, we talked for a while then I went to get my gear from my dead body (food, an AK and the basic survival stuff). However after finding my body I found another with a spare ghillie, Coyote backpack, NVG's Stanag rounds and a hacked in G36. I took the pack, ghillie and stanag and hid the body. I walked about 10 m and my face was taken off by an AS50. I don't thing my new friend knew it was me. Doh! My average is about 2 hours. A bit longer when I head north to find a vehicle.

I went back to loot my body yesterday after being killed by a bandit, found a G36C SD and a Ghillie, so threw the ghillie on and picked up my pack, walked about 50m north and took an AS50 round to the face. Sad thing is I think I was speaking to the guy with the AS50 before I went to find my body, probably shouldn't have put it on :(

How can you see in the dark with your AS50 unless its AS50 TWS?

I spawned in my own body one time. Moved forward turned around and I was still there with my PDW instead of my AS 50 (it did a weird gun cycle animation when I spawned). I tried to hide the body as it still had all the gear, but it wouldn't disappear.
