Crafting Recipe: + Bandana + Wooden Sticks Yes please!
  2. Yeah I know all about how it is has been discussed. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?100235-Setting-up-your-FOV

    Zoom Vs Iron sights

One player can have an extreme advantage over another by setting their FOV appropriately and using zoom (while having ironsights). Perhaps the player he is about to shoot has a very wide FOV. Good luck to that other player spotting him as easily as the first player. Seems like a realism mode would make all players use the same FOV.

    Zoom Vs Iron sights

It looks like first person servers will have their own hive according to the developers. No crosshairs, no zoom in/out, no third-person. What else?

    Zoom Vs Iron sights

Ah, yes, the bionic superman eyes. I posted photos of this in another thread. I'll post them here for visuals. You're not picky. It is entirely unrealistic. People say it accounts for your eye being able to focus on something from the distance. Why they simulated that with a zoom that intense is beyond me. Are your eyes also able to zoom out and increase your field of view? You still have the issue that somehow you can magically magnify your vision like three fold. No reason to have it other for it to be a crutch for those without scopes.
  6. We are allowed to discuss this as long as we don't all go crazy and break the rules! :) So, that is the developers solution? Separate hive for first person servers? Awesome. Truly, the first person hive will be a barren apocalyptic land filled with a few men and women with bionic eyes.
  7. I'm a photographer. It clearly has nothing to do with focus. That is entirely separate from what it actually is: ZOOM. You literally need some sort of superpower/bionic eye to be able to zoom in like that. Want to know why the mechanic isn't simulating "focusing in with your eyes n a particular area"? Because there is a zoom out feature too. You can do this in both first and third person. Zooming in narrows your FOV. Zooming out expands it. It is literally just as much as a crutch as third person (minus the seeing through wall glitches). Plus, if we are getting rid of third person then we might as well look at other "exploits" that make it easier for people to have an advantage on you right? lol
  8. You are such a nitpicker it is hilarious

    What is exploding in Chapayevsk?

    This is strange...

Sketchy People - DayZ Standalone YouTube Video

That woman with no arms was frightening. Good video, take my beans.
  11. You deserve a lot of beans for all that effort. Makes me hope sound is a priority for the development team. The sound in the game is pretty bland. Kind of like watching a grade-B movie.

KoS Video. Bring on the hate!

    Hilarious.

What did you do in Dayz today?

That is a great photo Chronos. Wow! Looks like your on the beached ship in the Northeast? Today I began a firefight against two players at the apartments above Balota. Seven people in the server when I took the first shot. 5 people in the server about 5 seconds after that. Logged off for the night before they magically appeared in the treeline.
  14. We also need to remove this crutch. Superman vision.
  15. You're right. First Person servers don't fill up. That is why these people want the developers to force first person on everyone so we don't have a choice. They call third person a crutch. I call it a challenge. If it gives the other player such an advantage then good on them. I'll be all the more happier when they can't kill me or if i manage to tag them. Haven't had any problems so far where people have been "exploiting". I guess some of these people are just incapable of figuring out how to avoid being a target through third person. They'll get the hang of it. I do hope they fix that ridiculous problem where you can see through buildings using third person though!

    The road

I guess I just prefer the movie because of the acting and music. Big fan of Viggo and the sound track makes the movie intense. The book was awesome and I wish the movie was two times longer to account for more of the story. Both are equally awesome in their own right!
  17. Lol, you have to equip the compass then put your gun away then press space to view it. Joke. They make one handed compasses that fit in your pocket for a reason. To be less obtrusive and so you can view them using one hand. "Oh, let me just sling my rifle on my back every time I need to checking my heading!" I guess we are just playing as moronic survivors!
  18. How dare you question the mechanics of this flawless game? How dare you. Lol. I agree with you a hundred percent. It is a joke.
  19. No, we didn't admit it was an exploit/cheat. How can a mechanic that has been in place for over a decade in these games be an exploit or cheat? It was intentionally placed in the game. It works in this engine. It is necessary to immerse yourself into these maps. The only solution is to polish the third person mode to appeal to the first person players. Players like me recognize that people will be using third person to gain advantage and we have fun with that. I like the challenge. All first person players want to do is force us to be stuck in their play style with them. It is a shame for veteran players like me who have been combating against third person in multiplayer Bohemia Interactive games for the past decade. I suppose I can see why you guys want it gone. You're too lazy to learn how to play in third and first person well. You're all probably used to first person only games. I hope Rocket fixes third person. I don't like that you can see through walls. Over walls? Different story.

HAHAHAHA Oh geez, look who's playing:

That's an odd thing to say, Julian.

    The road

I don't know where to begin with this. Humans are not weak due to civilization. Evolution, in the Darwinian sense, is always in motion. A natural law, if you will. If civilization did "collapse" then humans would adapt (if any survived) and procreate. The ones who survive (it is nearly impossible to predict evolution) will share their culture and continue to evolve and adapt. Humans, like all living things, have the instinct to survive. We depend on different technology (we have always depended on technology as it is a result of us surviving) today but that does not mean we would not create new technology to help us adapt and survive. In history, humans have always found a way to survive. To compare us to Man during ice age is interesting for a party conversation but does not really hold water when we look towards the future. Humans have different knowledge now and that could play a role in future survival.

    Dear god... some people

Eh, I would maybe just ignore someone being silly like that. Kids make stories up all the time.

    The road

Remember when I shot that guy with the flare gun? haha, Loved the book, loved the movie even more. Wish the game had a soundtrack similar to the movie. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4Pr0Xk1uu4&list=PL62C8C66B41C056B7
  24. Restricting third person is different than removing it! I am down for polishing the third camera view if it makes the game better. I wouldn't reconsider playing DayZ if he restricted it. If he removed it then I would see it as a poor attempt to "fix" the game without worrying about implications from removing such a mechanic. Of course, any major change like this will totally have an aftermath. So, it needs to be dealt with carefully.
