  1. I haven't seen anyone replicate the strange things happening in his videos. The only thing I have heard they say he used to not hack is just word of mouth. I've seen video evidence that he hacks and believe it. What do you expect? Quality entertainment is scripted and full of lies. Welcome to hollywood. His videos are alright, I don't see why he was such a hit. I am willing to bet that him being a hit was planned and carefully marketed it. Why people on the internet think they are free from how the entertainment industry works is kind of funny. Frankie needed to hack to gather so many fans in a game such as this. I find his videos bland compared to some of the stuff I've seen in the gallery on this forum. I guess that makes me a hipster.
  2. This is just a visual example of how you can create an unfair advantage over another player by altering your FOV and using the zoom button. Same photo. I just altered the FOV in the last one. I would have a huge advantage over one player if he was running away and I had the settings from the second photo. If he knew where I was then took cover behind a bush for example, he would need to go to the main menu, click a few times to alter his FOV then return to the game to line up a shot. How is this not having a mechanical advantage over another player? As far as I know: Your human eye cannot have the view in the first photo then magically have the view in the second photo. This is not a good enough reason to have this occur in the game. Does anyone know of future plans for this to be fixed?

    Some Polaroids

I took some screenshots and photoshopped them to look like Polaroids photographs. These will be used (first one is already up) for my RP Journal on tumblr. I won't advertise my journal in the gallery subforum though. I'll link it in my signature later maybe. Anyway, Hope you enjoy them!

Lets post some screen shots (Standalone)

That second photo is priceless! Ha!
  5. It does the same for me. glad to hear it is working for others. Surprised this isn't more well known on the forums. I made a thread about it

  7. I've been playing since Operation Flashpoint and I still find first person to be clunky and boring. There is nothing quite like looking at the country of Chernarus in third person. If anything keep it in for immersion and take out the parts that make people whine: looking over corners and what not. This has been done in a very effective manner. Why both sides won't totally agree on this is beyond me! I see no valid argument from the First Person side only knowing that it is possible to achieve a no advantage for anyone third person.

    Some Polaroids

Here is a photo I will likely not use in the journal. I am trying to keep it in first person. If I encounter a friendly survivor in my story then I may add a third person view photo (as if they took it for me). If anyone wants to meet up in game and have photos taken and edited in this format then let me know. I would even speak about it + post the photos in my journal.
  9. I do enjoy first person servers but I also enjoy third person servers. I dislike the community being separated on the issue. The idea that third person could be present without giving an advantage or "crutch" as you call it would be the best solution in my opinion. The 2017 third person solution is perfect. I think that development team made a wrong decision if they continue to have separate hives for first and third person. It continues to the problem and splits the community further. People who enjoy third person are stigmatized as being "poor little things" apparently. I do not like this as a veteran player who uses third person to enjoy the world more and not to hunt people.
  10. Who are you to tell us how we enjoy the game? Are you seriously going to tell some of us who have been playing games on this engine for over a decade that we will enjoy it in only first person? You are clueless.
  11. I can see why they complain though. They haven't played long enough (since Op.Fl.) to learn how to use 3rd person correctly when being followed/hunted. They just don't want to be bothered with the learning curve thus deleting becomes a better option.

    Some Polaroids

Thanks! I'll send you a PM with the information or you can just check out my signature...in a few hours. I'm slowly getting it finished lol. Thank you. I may just link to my journal rather than post more. I don't want to spam too often. Maybe once every couple weeks I'll collect the best ones and post them here? Thank you. I used a few simple actions to create these photos in photoshop. Photoshop is not free. However, you Picasa (by Google) is free! They have a one click button for polaroid photos. However, it won't change the image itself. Just the border. You would need to alter the photo before. I believe you might be able to get similar results in Picasa...

    Deer stands/barns

I wonder if deer stands will be reserved for hunting loot when that is implemented.
  14. Looks like the video above exactly fixes the problem you guys are upset about without taking away third person. Taking it away is the wrong solution. The video shows one way to approach the problem.
  15. Oh hey cool! Exactly something I'd be fine with implementing as someone who loves third person.

Thank you for the beans everyone. And for you AP_Norris They aren't polaroid but they are pristine. No one will mess with you when you stroll into town with them.

    Please undo today's patch asap

Pressing Tab helps a little bit when you start to rubberband. At least it does when I've tried it.
  21. Tried to watch the stream. My internet is not good enough to stream at such a high quality. Sorry!

    You don't blend in

Saw a guy running through town with no pants and a yellow rain jacket earlier. Really makes you wonder what some people are thinking in this game.
  23. Something you and I can finally agree on! Beans all around.
  24. Cool, glad you like it! I'm a student at University right now and that is what kind of sparked the idea for me. I feel like it could make for a really interesting RP experience. I will try to get on Teamspeak tonight but I'm not sure yet. I will add you as a friend on here and contact you via private message if anything comes up. I see where you are coming from but these type of communities do not ruin DayZ in my opinion. These games prosper by creating sub-communities. You can't give people (creative or not) a sandbox and try to force them to play the vanilla game without adding any sort of creativity into it. You talk about the role of human beings. Well, humans are curious and creative creatures, thus, RP. (Lol at my logic) These small communities provide a different kind of RP that is very enjoyable. However, the challenge of RP of this kind in the public hive is also fun. Why not both? Give people a choice. Donations for servers is allowed I think. If the community wants to donate then I wouldn't see any sort of legal issue. Then again...I'm not a lawyer.
