Yeah I have a huge problem with it. Players should only have zoom features when using scopes or binoculars. You can get a ridiculous hawkeye when you lower your FOV and zoom in. It has no place in this game.

I disagree. I've talked to some 1PP advocates and they generally seem to be nitpickers. They only want third person removed but don't want other things removed that are immersion breaking. Not calling you out at all. You seem like one of the more reasonable people. I just don't want third person to be the major fix for game plausbility as you mentioned. I really want the developers to address this in depth soon. We seem to be arguing in circles and some news from them on this hot topic will really allow us to further this discussion. Do you agree (with the last statement)?

I play alone most of the time. I'm getting the poop end of the stick. Rocket wants 3rd person gone and dislikes Lonewolf players! Guess I need to change my play style! :P

3PP offers a quick FOV change without having to go into the menu. If they allowed me to bind FOV to keys then I wouldn't go into third person.

The discussion was off topic before we started posting here. This was a fix 3PP (not remove) thread yet the discussion of removing it was brought up by you and others. Report us and yourself by the way.

Either they don't remove it or they decide to make the player view "brutally realistic". A lot of things need to be done besides removing third person to remove the superhuman powers the player currently has. Zoom only available through scopes (no right click magical zoom) and removed third person. That would be hardcore, brutally realistic and fair for everyone.

Well I wouldn't be so sure about that. I wouldn't be surprised if the choice is made by them to remove it completely. I wish they wouldn't but the more I learn about the decision making of the team leads me to believe that they will force everyone to play in first person. It doesn't really matter if the majority wants third person. If the developers feel that it takes away from the experience of the game then it will be gone. I've tried all of those things. I still can't play this game in first person for too long compared to other first person shooters. The best remedy I tried was the FOV but then again... I really dislike playing with such a huge FOV. Really gives me a disadvantage against other players. In conclusion, I'll deal with it if they remove third person. Not a big deal since I am in first person for all combat anyway. I just don't think I'll be able to play for as long as I usually do. Running for long distances in first person...no thank you! Damn the people who exploit third person. I really never do that. I guess if it is growing problem and people feel they are being exploited by it then go ahead and remove it. For the better good right? Just sucks for people like me.

Let me just restate that this thread is NOT about REMOVING THIRD PERSON. The last thread turned into that discussion and it was locked. Maybe we should keep this thread to fixing third person rather than removing it. That discussion is for another thread in my opinion.

It fixes a fundamental problem. You are right that it does introduce another issue that causes confusion. I suppose the solution would be to remind players that key objects not visible in first person would not appear in third person. A simple text reminder when going into third person should do the trick no? Just spit balling but thank you for the clarification.

The solution to third person already exists Someone already linked to this but i linked to the exact point in one of the videos where it shows up. If they can implement this for free then they NEED to do it. If this is going to cost a pretty penny to show up in DayZ then I guess they will need to discuss if it is worth it.

I saw these videos of yours on youtube the other day. Really appreciate the time you put into them. There are shorter videos out there but yours goes really in depth. Appreciate it. You should consider making a graphic displaying all this information so it can be readily available quickly.
