Why do regular/recruit servers exist?

You don't have to play on the recruit, regular servers if you don't like them. I guess you are upset with the people looting on the easier servers. Why not make it so loot found in a recruit/regular server will only be compatible on recruit/regular servers. Not everyone wants to play on realism mode. Take a look at L4D. They offer a realism versus mode that no one ever plays. Why? The balance should come from somewhere else. Dayz has far bigger issues than 3rd person imho. -

You can spent about 30-40 bucks less on a GTX560 (instead of the TI) and get the same results in a game like ARMA II. It is a much better value. If you want even better value then go for the ATI 6850 or something.

Make sure to balance it out. Don't invest too much in a video card and then lack in the CPU, Memory or Harddrive department. ARMA doesn't really require an amazing card to get the highest settings. Like the guy said about a 6800 or a GTX 560 would do the trick.

For a game like Dayz and ARMA you need a great Harddrive as well as a decent gfx card. You can get a huge fps boost with a nice harddrive. You don't really need a modern top of the line video card to run this game on the highest settings.

It wasn't really nerfed in DayZ. I believe an update from the developers of ARMA changed the damage rating. Correct me if I'm wrong though!

The crossbow is a primary weapon and the 1911 is secondary so you can carry both. But if you have to choose between them in a fire fight then I might go with the crossbow right now. It is silent and it wasn't negatively affected in the OA update. It takes like 4 shots to take zombies down. I don't know how good it is for players now. If you are firing first, use the crossbow. If you are being fired at then use the 1911 imho.

The crossbow is not great for PVP. Each bolt takes up one slot in your inventory plus it isn't very long ranged. However, it is better than nothing!

Holy E Drama. Is the maturity level really this low in Dayz? You should take care of these kinds of things behind closed doors (PM, EMAIL, SKYPE, W/E). Trying to get the community to back you when all we have is "your word" is a strange way to go about it. By the way, these forums are for general discussion. This is turning out what should be a private message viewed by the public. Not much to discuss here for us. We need some more moderators. -
Most Rocket Launcher and Grenade launcher ammo take up Ammo slots. Only a few of them don't such as the AA such as the Strela

Sure, I can head that way. I have an Alice Pack, Range Finder, GPS and a Ghilly Suit. Plenty of Blood Bags too. All Silenced Weapons. All you need to do is when you loot my body is stand very still. It is a deal breaker if you can't do this.

Why not in America? I think that if it took place in Argentina, Chile or even in some parts of Ecuador then it would be very cool. There are some great cities there with beautiful mountain ranges, plains and rolling hills. -

I saw Jared Diamond give a lecture a couple months ago. Fantastic author. He spoke about his field research on natives in Papua New Guinea and on average they speak more languages than many societies. Not dialects...languages! One man spoke up to 15 languages. Incredible. Anyway, Interesting quote! Comparing this game to hunting-gathering peoples is something I didn't really think about. Does it expand on this in Shermer's book? I guess I will have to read it. -

I study the evolution of Man and also other species like Chimps. Yes people do build clans and tribes (I get killed by groups plenty in DayZ) but there are also a few chimps and people in "primitive" societies that are violent by nature. Also, in evolution...there is always room for change. Who isn't to say that Men will change how they fight in the future? If building clans leads to large societies and it fails...what makes you think the surviving men would like to try again? It could be total anarchy which then would likely lead to extinction. (who said there had to be a happy ending?)
