@hds02115 It won't stop all players from killing players, but it will stop the people who panic and kill people on accident or kill people just in case. It has already seems to have increased the stories of random kindness on the boards. Most importantly, it'll increase the KOS against actual bandits. And some of those guys have -1,000,000 humanity. Anyway, your humanity returns on its own slowly over time it seems. So if you just stop killing other players eventually you'll get a hero skin.

On the map when it's been activated, I saw zombies at about 10-20 meters and never saw survivors (although I saw myself and I was labeled "survivor" and it told me what direction I was facing).

Get rid of tents and vehicle storage. Problem solved.

I didn't gain a single bit of humanity tonight. Didn't lose any either. Oddly, I seem to be frozen at 2500 humanity, but I feel like I should be higher given my 0 murder count.

So many beans. I whine about this stuff so much my catchphrase is "get rid of tents and vehicle storage." If you ever wanted to see the true carebear mentality behind DayZ, check out the LayZ's with their item hoarding. By the way, it's getting worse. Three days ago, I ran across a tent with 10 tents in it in hours of gameplay. Tonight I ran across four fully-loaded tents just running in a straight line in about an hour and a half of gametime. This is getting seriously ridiculous. It's one thing to hold your buddy's loot and guard his body until he gets back. If he died by sniper fire or by zombie, it's at least a challenge. But tent hoarding just lets you keep loot death after death after death with no real consequences for your failures. -
I spawned in at exactly 2500 humanity. And three hours later...? Exactly 2500 humanity. So...uh...hrm. Then again, the server I was on had banned 3rd person view so it's possible it had a whole bunch of other freaky stuff going on.

Simple way to do it is with a combining system similar to converting to the M1014 rounds. If you have a certain number of bolts in your inventory, you can combine them into a stack that depletes gradually. It would still require space in your inventory to pick up the minimum number of bolts, though.

"The failure of this system is the humanity, if a high humanity bandit gets a hero stuff it means he is almost free to KOS, the penalization is big, but by helping out the other members of the group your humanity gets higher(i believe)...." Okay, indominator, now you're just making stuff up and that's getting... Actually, I'm laughing because your breathless panic and bandit tears amuse me. So far the only way to raise humanity is to wait for it to go back up on its own.

You have to kill a lot of people to get to -300000 humanity...holy crap...what is wrong with some of these guys? Did their mothers not breastfeed them?

One day they will tone down weapon damage and get rid of healing from food...and then this will be a fantastic idea.

It's one thing to have a bandit walk up to you and shoot you in the face because you're afraid of getting a murder tag and you can't tell if they're dangerous or not. It's another to make it impossible to be bad. Just be careful. And shoot the bandits.

It's true. Currently, bandits with low humanity get a separate identifier showing them to be bandits. But they can still keep being bandits all day long. See, no punishment, just the game reflecting your play style. -
The skin is back. It should be the guys with kaffiyeh/scarves around their heads. Basically anybody whose face you can't see.

@zq7 I don't think that's the actual hero skin. I think it's what the civilian outfit does when someone with really low humanity wears one. Notice how the texture looks like their skin is all screwed up? -
Thank you for explaining why this game is getting so easy. Next hotfix, tents despawn on death? I vote yes!

A lot of the weird lunge animations need to be resolved in-engine. I once threw myself to my death after standing completely still and crouching on a balcony. Stuff like this randomly seems to happen.
