The devs for dayz distribute a default scripts.txt along with the dayzmodDEFAULT install package however access to that file is only granted to server hosts soooooo Bit of a pain; Check out the replies in this thread for some examples but ultimately you need to tune it for your server and your level of comfort/knowledge of BattlEye's peculiarities. The scripts.txt file must begin with //NEW or BattlEye will rename the file to scripts_old.txt upon your next server restart. This, and a lot more, is detailed in this thread.

One word of caution here... Some server owners lock the server for several minutes prior to restarts in conjunction with restart countdown warnings. This, to me, seems an acceptable and professional use of the lock function within the context of DayZ's rule set. Obviously if a server is locked for more than a handful of minutes it ought to get flagged...

Elpis Host - $30/month for 40 slots - BEC/Anti-Hax - Unrivaled Quality

Any plans to colocate a few boxes out in California? :) -
You're just quoting out of scripts.txt which has nothing to do with player conduct on your server it merely tells your server's BattlEye client how to handle certain script executions. Part of the reason the scripts.log files is empty, I'm guessing, is because the new BattlEye version requires a new scripts.txt to tell it to log stuff to the scripts.log file... For example in your post each line with a 1 in front of it tells the BattlEye instance on your server to write that line to scripts.log.
-
Ah then you're a HFB customer? We can't edit our scripts.txt to even *add* new hacks to it sooooo seeing the log doesn't help anyway. They made a change a few days ago that glitched all of the log files so they no longer record anything. At least it coincided with a change they made, might be DayZ but I doubt it.
-
No scripts.txt is the file that BattlEye looks at for your local configuration... as in what scripts to kick/ban for on your server. To actually *see* what scripts players/cheaters are running you need to look at scripts.log
-
HFB Made a change a few days ago where the log files started automatically rotating on server restart it looks like... Anyway, since that change was made none of the logs have been recorded they all just have //new in them and nothing else. -EDIT- What scripts.txt are you using? Might be your issue.
-
Depends who your host is... If it's HFB they are supposed to be under the log viewer section but all of the files are empty and it's been that way since the 24th. If you have file structure access on your host try \\cfgdayz\\BattlEye under your ArmA II server install directory.

Server-side Hotfix 0.7.2, Helicopter status and server info

FWIW I play with *everything* at max except anti aliasing because it makes things way too blurry. -
Server-side Hotfix 0.7.2, Helicopter status and server info
Sanadorn replied to Vipeax's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
The graphical glitches are insane. We ended up tracking a few down to just normal static "props" like the wrecked HUMVEEs and military soldiers laying around near the coast South of Berenzino (just an example of a set we were close enough to actually find) They make the game unplayable unfortunately. -
Private Servers okay ?
Sanadorn replied to kontakt@marcel-witzel.de's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I wonder if doing this would help with the script kiddies and server hopper issues? Give up a little of the "global" nature of the game and create a stronger local community on the server or servers that share a private hive? -
US-809 hit by teleport hacker
Sanadorn replied to elite_commando's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
fwiw I can see the script kiddies doing their thing in the logs (or I could until today, the logs are fubar now HFB!!!!) but I don't have access to the scripts file to get Battleye up to speed nor can I add them to the ban list... GG -
Please update your servers! (To 95xxx or later)
Sanadorn replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I've lost FTP access per a DayZ mod team request... I have no option to update my server (HFB) until they release the "patch kit" to the admin panel. I *really* hope you guys have some side-bar conversation going so those of us operating in complete good faith don't get screwed here! -
Servers restarting without warning
Sanadorn replied to Mattolio (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
FWIW I post the restart times in the MOTD and the tools available to me via HFB allow no warning... just the automated restarts. I've had a few of my regular players forget but most remember. Again it's plain as day in the MOTD. If I'm on near restart time I always toss out a global say warning about it. -
I will continue to purchase from HFBSERVERS
Sanadorn replied to rockstar (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
They're making progress on the server tools. I've posted elsewhere what features I really want as an admin so that I can offer a more professionally run server environment to my players You're absolutely right that an angry customer makes a lot more noise than a happy one. The guy that buys a server because he knowingly wants to cheat is going to cry haaard and looong when his dreams get dashed by a responsible host or by the DayZ staff. When he loses his $30 for violating an agreement he signed I consider that an idiot tax. The challenge is sorting through the noise to the real issues and in HFB's case it's also manpower... I *do* software development in a web environment and having a sudden extreme surge in business is impossible to respond to quickly... You can't just hire people and have them be productive and useful on day one. Some of the other providers seem to have coped better with this than HFB but I have no insight into their respective business models, team sizes or propensity for staring into crystal balls to predict Steam Summer Sales. Give it some time and if you can't wait vote with your wallet. It's not worth wasting your free time stalking HFB around the forums. -
US 809 was hit by a cheat/hack/exploit earlier this evening at approximately 10:15pm (GMT-8) We'd been having pretty bad de-sync issues for most of the evening so the first event was brushed off as a result of that and us climbing a sleep hill. Every member of my 6-man squad had their legs broken simultaneously. We used our morphine to get going and about 5 minutes later all of our legs were broken again. The server was brought down (I'm the admin) for several minutes in order to halt the trolling of the players that were online. I don't *know* who was involved as the logs don't show anything funky but I'm assuming this is some joker spawning bear traps at the feet of every active player. I'm still looking through the script log but it's pretty difficult as it is enormous (HFB Server) and I've been disallowed from pruning any logs even once since the server was brought online. If I find anything I'll add it here just figured you guys ought to get a heads up of a new troll tactic.

Yeah ummm... I just went to look where I grabbed it before. It was on the front page right below the Support button on the right-hand side... It's not there anymore. Sorry man :emptycan:

I sat in their TS3 server for about 45 minutes a few days ago and they hopped up and helped me with my issue. There were 2 other customers in there and one was ahead of me.

Information regarding HFBServers Update
Sanadorn replied to anthony_henson2003@yahoo.com's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
TBH I was near livid about the changes originally and the complete inability to edit (and have it stick) difficulty settings. You've ironed out the difficulty settings, thank you. I would like to be able to automate restarts with 15 and 5 minute warnings so that it is brought down professionally. I attempted to do a 10 minute lock out but I got a nasty e-mail about a TOS violation and the server shut itself down. Just trying to make it operate more professionally but in hindsight I understand this "feature" as some would lock and create a private island for themselves. I need the MAXPING settings to be saved after a server restart. The setting reverts to -1 every time it restarts and I've got it set up in beserver.cfg to 185. I need to be able to prune, rename and archive out my log files. This is a necessity. I need to be able to tweak scripts.txt to keep BE up-to-date with these script kiddies and their crap. You guys haven't been "the worst host ever™" as some are claiming but you've already acknowledged that there is work ahead of HFB in terms of the admin panel and customer satisfaction. Just keep it going in the right direction guys! :beans: -
Taking away even more access to our servers?
Sanadorn replied to Soujyo's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It should be noted that log files are completely unusable unless we can prune them in some automated or manual fashion at regular intervals. Removing this ability from server admins is insanity and makes tracking hackers and extracting scripts for inclusion in BE an even more onerous task. Adherence to the DayZ rules is required when ordering the server. Policing should be at the provider level but do so through a system that does not punish the hell out of the honest admins. The lock down on files HFB has imposed is completely unreasonable. Most server admins just want to play the game and enjoy it with friends. I've got zero desire to break any of the rules of the game as that defeats the entire purpose. Please stop treating me like a child and a cheater and start treating us like paying customers that are, by the way, donating the servers to the community... -
HFBServers.com time issue
Sanadorn replied to Torndeco (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Just tried it... unfortunately it does not work the opposite way. The cfgdayz file settings are completely ignored or are being superseded... but due to the lock down I can't see any files to even begin troubleshooting. bleh. Set everything in the "difficult form" to 0 and it's all still on. The most annoying game-aide by far is the mouse-over name highlighting and it's causing a bit of player rage over here :( -

Liam by setting it on recruit you were able to TURN OFF weapon cross hairs, waypoints and all the rest of the game-aids? -
HFBServers.com time issue
Sanadorn replied to Torndeco (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
My HFB hosted server does this as well... If I restart it it will sync with it's time-zone but time passes extremely slowly like 1 hour in game being 6 or 7 real world hours. I have no access to anything to even try to trouble shoot this because HFB locks literally everything down... wish I'd known ahead of time because my players are getting really frustrated and HFB staff is way overloaded since admins can't actually solve anything themselves by-design... odd as hell. HFB had a pretty long thread on their internal forums about it but the forums are down today. We can't seem to alter any difficulty settings either like enabling or disabling the weapon crosshairs or waypoint markers. I'm pretty sure these things are related because some friends of mine that run a different server with HFB but for considerably longer did *not* have issues until the "lock it down" ultimatum came from DayZ Mod staff. Couple of people abusing causing major over reactions and trouble for a heck of a lot of legit users... an old and well-worn story.
