  1. I don't ussually hang around gaming forums too much as they are ussually a volatile place full of needy self entitled pea brains.... I use this as this mod has potential for a close knit mature community, but there are still the numerous threads clogging up the board complaining about the "state" of the game and "omg its buggy as hell" or "omg wheres the end game"... SO for people thinking of posting one such thread and maybe reading this....I implore you to read on.. From good ol'Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia....lpha_test#Alpha [edit]Alpha The alpha phase of the release life cycle is the first phase to begin software testing (alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, used as the number 1). In this phase, developers generally test the software using white box techniques. Additional validation is then performed using black box or gray box techniques, by another testing team. Moving to black box testing inside the organization is known as alpha release.[2] Alpha software can be unstable and could cause crashes or data loss. The exception to this is when the alpha is available publicly (such as a pre-order bonus), in which developers normally push for stability so that their testers can test properly. External availability of alpha software is uncommon in proprietary software. However, open source software, in particular, often have publicly available alpha versions, often distributed as the raw source code of the software. The alpha phase usually ends with a feature freeze, indicating that no more features will be added to the software. At this time, the software is said to be feature complete. Cheers

Hi all, First time poster so be gentle lol! Been tracking dayz for a couple of weeks via youtube and various articles etc and decided to buy arma:co in the steam sale last night. Got mod up and running this morning and I've played around about 4 hours or so. I will give you a run down of my "lives" so far... First life ran around like a headless chicken while 3 mobs chewed at my shoulder lived about 5 mins... gradually ( on maybe life 9 now) im surviving longer and grasping the controls and feel like im progressing but I have hit a catch 22 like situation.. I cant find any sort of firearm.. heading into town even crouch walking attracts critters from what seems like a mile away even with 3 bars on the eye reticle im getting aggro from a long long way away. Am I supposed to crawl everwhere? or am i missing something?? I am enjoying the concept and the atmosphere in game but feel like its a little too punishing if i cannot crouch walk in long grass 500 meters away without getting spotted and not having any sort of weapon (I would take a gordon freeman style crowbar right now) seems a little harsh could do with one little small get out of jail free card!
