I meant on 231! Server was running fine tonight strikes... But then kinda had some issues that I believe were hive related, that were intermittent. -

Good name??? HAH! :P Ganzor, it sucks that you are leaving. I remember your name from when we were playing on 229. I keep a tight chain on Strikes, to make sure that he keeps what is sadly my primary source of entertainment our servers up and running. Whenever we have issues, I bother him (and I do mean bother) about it until it is fixed. Frog was playing on 229, and when he brought it up that it was not rebooting, I let Strikes know asap. There were several days when whatever was going on with the hive had crippled our servers. That coupled with the whitelisting issue, and the fact that we were unaware that 229 wasnt rebooting compounded the issue. Anyhow, sorry to see any "fair playing" member of the servers leave. If you decide to come back, find which server we are rolling on at the time, and play on it. It would be fun to have a "rival gang" to play against. The last one we had took off. Trav aka Howler -

I havent had the tent bug occur in the last few beta patches (which isnt very long, since the update like 7 times a day), but I will confirm that we had the same issue. At one point we had like 6 as50s from raiding another persons tent near the AF. We would loot the tents, and save them... loot the tents and crush them, not loot the tents and crush them, nothing would completely empty them out, and keep them empty. Eventually, all but the original looted gear disappeared, and the tents no longer seem to dupe (as much). I think that it is/was mainly just poor transmissions from the servers and hive. Would be nice to get an update from the DayZ devs to find out what they have been doin the last couple of weeks.

No idea what is going on here..... Everytime I start to load shit into my ATV, I get this error. It was duping my gas cans for certain. I had 3 on me, and put 3 in the ATV... I opened my backpack and got booted for script 51. I repeat the process, open the ATV gear menu, see I have 3 on the ATV, and have 3 in my pack.... Empty the 3 cans from my pack to the atv again, I open my backpack, and get booted... again script 51. Next time, I get on, see that my ATV now has SIX Jerry Cans on it, and I STILL have my 3 in my pack.... I see it is duping, so I dump the 3 in my pack on the ground, and open my backpack (not on the ATV) I see I have 4 g17 mags in my backpack in the place of my other Jerry Can... I never kept any g17 mags in my pack, much less 4... thats like carrying around 4 turds. So I go back to the ATV to dump them in, open the ATV, open my backpack, again booted for script 51. I cant find anything on this... I see peoples complaints about different errors, but nothing relating directly to #51. I dont run scripts, and I dont have any hacked items. I was playing fine last night with 95054, and our server has not updated to 099 yet... Anyone have any clue whats up?

Seems to be running now, but the horrible lag and desync makes it unplayable. le sigh

I am, obviously... Strikes was working on the server all evening trying to get shit ironed out. I get the feeling that there isnt a whole lot that he can do, that the fault lies with the poor beta patch, and backend work with battle eye. But who knows, Rocket seems to have disappeared again, and all seems to be silent on the forum.

Went back in, and the gas cans that I had put on the ground were gone. So I was going to dump the g17 mags. This time I didnt mess with teh ATV at all. I just went to some empty ground, dumped 4 of my 1911 mags on the ground, and opened the backpack to drop the 4 g17 mags.... kicked again.

I honestly dont know, thats why I said it was just my uneducated opinion. I thought all saves were in sync with the hive. So if saves occur on a 60 second timer (random figure) and there is lag between the server and hive, then that may create inconsistencies within the game. Again, no real knowledge of what I am talking about... just yelling in the wind.

We seem to be having a LOT of sync issues with riders on vehicles. Originally thought it was one person in particular, but then it seemed to be with those of us on the 4 wheelers. We have 3, 4 wheelers. At times, I would be a couple of gridsquares away, while my passenger, and the ppl on the two other ATVs would still see me sitting in front of them. Then my passenger would rubberband back to me. This was happening to multiple passengers on the other ATVs as well... so it wasnt limited to one persons connection. My uneducated guess is that it is a sync issue with the hive.

This should be stickied. Cars do NOT server hop with you. Like tents, once they are planted, thats the server they stay on. And (again) like tents, they are present on the server, even when you are offline.

I think this is something most of us agree with. The morphine to fix broken bones is obviously a placeholder. I just wish they would patch a NEW placeholder ASAP... esp since the only place you can RELIABLY find morphine is on the coast.

My lonewolf play is either due to 1) not being near my compatriots, or 2) not being on at the same time. I would say I have spent 95% of my /played alone over the past two weeks. This is not due to soloing is my playstyle, this is due to the fact that locations, timing, or general interest from friends not aligning. To punish me for that would be shitty. The flipside of it would be "people who run in packs all the time, should have their loot start disappearing, and they should have to take meds to keep them from shooting their fellow survivors out of paranoia." Both of those would be ridiculous... IMO of course. I concur that the game needs a little more socialization going on in it... But I dont know that I agree rewards/punishment is the answer. The benefit of running lone wolf is that you odnt have to share your loot. A downside is that doing shit like putting a vehicle back together can be a very time consuming process.... Or when you get sniped, no one has your back. Running in a pack the benefits (again IMO) far outweigh the cons. Sure, loot maybe shared, but most packs are going to split gear to who most needs it anyway. You are safer, can cover one another, give transfusions, etc. The thing that is "broken" (but not very) is lines of communication. Things are fine for people on the same comms server... but in game comms blow. But you have said that will begin being addressed in 1.8 and onward. After the comms system gets a review, then maybe relook at the ideas regarding meds. Also, stores should have a chance of spawning antibiotics.

I have been playing on beta servers for a couple of weeks now. For those not playing with the beta, one of the recent patches have removed all the global channels... leaving us with only Direct, Vehicle, and Group channels. I appreciate the realism, and the feeling of isolation that this imparts, but it also takes away from the social aspect of the game. *Haters, I know you are wanting to flip the hate switch, and start railing on me now. Please resist the urge* I bought OA strictly for this mod. I love the post apocalyptic genre, and this mod is a pretty damn good representation of it. I love Rockets vision, and I love it that the zombies are not the focus of the game, but the foil to the focus (scavenging). My concern with the comms, is that the servers feel empty, and leave no way for a noob to ask questions, or for servers to form a sense of community. For the more solitary players, this kinda sucks. The group of 5 raiders/survivors who are on their own TS dont notice, because they are their own community... but the guys who cant get their worthless friends to invest in a game just for an alpha experience, then the lack of the social channel sucks. Now, I have read that there are plans for radios, etc... But I imagine those will be fairly rare, which limits their accessibility to people who are more skilled at the game, which eliminates them from noobs getting them, which keeps them from accessing help from the others on the server. My suggestion is that you start with a radio that transmits only on a global channel. You can find upgraded radios that will transmit (text only to limit voip spam) on global channels, as well as GROUP comms. I am unclear on how ARMA works with the group channels, but I think it would be cool if you could invite ppl to join your squad, so that everyone with a radio could communicate (vocally) on that radio channel. Dont know if that is a possibility, but wanted to give it a go. tl;dr = dont respond please

Dinj, I appreciate most of your response. I dont think my suggestions are nonsensical however. And I am not saying "PUT THIS IN THE GAME EXACTLY AS I STATE IT"... I am trying to open a dialogue on different ideas for the comms. I also dont believe that noobs are all helpless gibbons. I just dont think that all of them can be bothered to check the forums, and research the info... which in effect limits accessibility to the mod. My opinion is subjective, just as yours is. So I dont see how that discounts EITHER of our positions. I am 100% aware of the alpha status of the game, I dont need reminded. I think the idea of a Suggestion forum, is to plant a seed.. not to install a rainforest. In regards to this : I am not sure if YOU are aware that this is alpha, where things are introduced and removed, alpha is where things that made the cut are fine tuned (that is from the fingertips of Rocket himself). I will fall back on the old standby of "you are complaining about realism in a world that is overrun by zombies, where farmers keep chopper rotors in their sheds, and automatic weapons and grenades are easier to find than knives, and matches". Like I said, the basic premise of my idea was a starter radio that has one wide area broadcast range, then a more rare radio that you can tune into "group" channels with. 100% realistic, no... But in a game, you have to try to find that fine line where realism and good gameplay meet.
