The first case definately seems suspicious. I'm guessing you killed the server admin and his group, and he restarted the server to reset the location of the vehicle. I'm not sure if even an admin abuser would restart the server simply because he and his friends were killed on the other hand (since they would still lose their gear), but it would hardly surprise me if an admin abuser did that out of spite.

Me and my friends have been banned for pillaging the admin's camp and destroying everything we had no use of. When you are fighting a group that's backed by an admin abuser, every dirty trick in the book is acceptable. It's not supposed to be a part of the game to lose your loot only because the camp owner happens to be the server admin, but sadly it is, so you have to adapt. In our group we always serverhop to move loot across servers when we find large camps to safeguard ourselves against admin abuse, for instance.

I killed 14 players in today's playing session without dying thanks to the thermal scope. The gun itself is a piece of junk, but it's an amazing tool for spotting targets — especially enemy snipers.

If those issues are dealbreakers for you, it's probably best that you quit and come back later when the mod is more finished.I personally think it's getting boring that so many players disconnect to avoid death, but there's not much to do about at the moment other than getting instant kills (which can be hard against a seasoned exploiter, unless you have a .50 cal).

You wouldn't have to scam to sell items in DayZ. Me and my teammates have gathered a huge stash just over the last couple of days. We currently have 34 high tier primaries stashed in vehicles and tents, at least when I counted them yesterday (it's possible we have lost everything by now, of course). By "high tier" I'm referring to weapons that spawn at heli crash sites and the barracks, to make myself clear. We would've had even more if we hadn't been admin abused, for the record.

What's the problem? If players want to purchase gear, let them. I would not spend any money on gear, though, considering you might lose it anytime during the alpha, whether it's because of the next patch or a bug.

Also, if your blood drops below ~9000, you will be far more likely to get knocked down by zombies, and below ~3000, you will be prone to fainting. So it's important to have as much blood as possible at all times.

That's not an argument. Stop being a douchebag. Disconnecting to avoid death is an illegitimate playingstyle, and players should not have to adapt to it. Note how I said "should", since you obviously have to adapt to it at the moment if you wish to kill the DC snipers (in our team we always pick them off with .50 Cals, to make sure they won't have time to log out).

No. They are definately not overpowered. Considering one bullet may drop you dead even at full health, I don't think that you can play carelessly because you have blood bags in your team.

Not all weapons are listed on the wiki. And I'm pretty sure that it's not hacked, since I have seen it alot since I started playing — both on dead bandits and on pictures. And regardless of whether a weapon is hacked or not, I don't think that you can get banned for picking it up and using it.

There are plenty of groups that make big camps. If you know where to look for them, it's easy to find them, but they often have little of value besides food, drink and medical supplies. Personally, I think that bigger camps are too easy to spot and prefer to scatter a few tents here and there and also spread the loot across several servers in order to minimize the risk.

At the moment, 0 murders and 16 zombies killed, although I'm armed with an AS50, M4A1 CCO SD and a revolver, along with all of the useful tools (NVGs, rangefinder, GPS, compass, etc). I died to a bug (fell into a hole, broke my bones and died) earlier today. I went to one of our camps to get new equipment, and have been busy doing other things than killing players for a change.

I also think the M16 has horrible iron sights, and find the CCOs alot easier to handle. In addition to that, the M16 is not very good at either long or short range because of its weak caliber and lack of a full auto mode, while the M4A3 CCO is at least a great weapon for short range.

I can see why you are annoyed. While I'm a bandit myself, I think that it's very unethical to befriend people, actually chatting with them on Skype and all, only to betray them like that (to make myself clear, I'm not saying that it should be forbidden; just that it's very low).

Oh, I'm sorry for my previous post then. I must have misunderstood the OP. Kudos to you guys for playing the game fairly and stashing your vehicles on the actual map.

Yeah, it's certainly horrible to kill someone in a FPS game. The players that do that must have no ethics whatsoever. The charm of the PvP in DayZ is that the firefights are usually uneven and there are multiple groups. You may have groups with rifles gunning down players and groups with pistols and melee weapons, and groups with assault rifles, machineguns and snipers gunning down groups with rifles and pistols. I doubt that's the case in PvP in regular ARMA2? So you are comparing the game to real life now? Don't you realize how silly that is? I love to kill players for fun in DayZ, but I would most certainly not do the same if a disaster were to happen in the real world. Killing someone in a game is an inconvenience to them, and can't be compared to ending their existance.

I don't see how he's implying that. I think most players are aware of that the bandit snipers in Elektro and Cherno tend to have some of the best loot ingame (AS50s, DMRs, M4 SDs, NVGs, rangefinders, Coyote BPs, etc). Perhaps he's looking for a fast and good way to get geared up.

You know what's bullshit? Hoarding every vehicle off the map, so no one except the clanners hoarding them ever get a chance to use them. How do you have the stomach to complain about him ruining their fun, when their off map hoarding makes it less fun for 99% of the server's players?

Oh well' date=' I guess that I will have to comfort myself with that if my L85 is indeed lost. I'm playing as a sniper, and I have so far been able to use the L85 to great effect when it comes to killing other snipers. I believe he was talking about players complaining about the L85 itself, not the removal of it.

Yeah, it's probably true that it's loud for the zombies, but that doesn't matter so much if you are firing from 500-1000m. And of course the point of the M9SD is to use it against zombies that come too close.
