It spawns in the barracks, but your best bet is probably to acquire one through trading (if you can provide something good) or look for camps. Looting the barracks just makes you vulnerable to serverhoppers and/or snipers. I have one on the character I'm playing with anyways. It's pretty nice, but you have to get used to its scope first. I would recommend trying it out in singleplayer to begin with (I used the showcase Takistan to learn it better).

I just checked out coordinates 088 014 on US 1669 and there was nothing at all there. So unless the OP meant 014 088 it seems like it was just a trap. Did you also check 088 014? I guess I was just sloppy then, but I didn't care to stop to look carefully. And the intel was posted 3 hours ago, so it has likely just been moved by now.

Also, what's the clan called? Are they using any tags?

Perhaps you guys simply joined a server that wasn't connected to the hive? Also, I have experienced players hacking on DE 27 multiple times, so I'd recommend any players caring about their gear to stay off that server. It seems like the server's relatively high population attracts hackers like flies to shit.

Yes, it's a real shame that hackers can ruin this mod so much. Me and my friend were playing yesterday and started driving from the north to the south for almost an hour, only to get teleported to the NWAF by a hacker when we were about to have some fun at Elektro. We were lucky enough to not die, but we have lost the car for sure by now (a White GAZ containing a M249, M16A2 M203, NVGs and useful spare parts). Things like this makes me wonder if it's worth to ever try to repair something like a helicopter or invest much time into vehicles to have fun with them while hunting players. The hacking problem definately needs to get fixed, but I don't think there's much that the DayZ devs can do about it.

Keep looking. ALICE backpacks are easy to find. Antibiotics are on the other hand still rare from what I have understood, so I'd hold onto them if I were you. Someone who needs antibiotics badly would probably be willing to offer some high-end item for it.

You have to save a vehicle several minutes before the restart to have it appear at that position from my experience. It could have been a case of a douchebag admin abuser restarting the server to have the helicopter rollback to an earlier position, or he was simply inconsiderate enough to not provide a proper warning for the server's players. For those reasons I prefer to play on servers with automatic restarts. You can drive a vehicle with a red engine without it exploding, so long as you don't crash into anything or get shot at. I'm guessing either of that happened without you noticing it.

Keep in mind you can combine one DMR magazine into four M24 magazines. I would personally go with the DMR, simply because I find it more fun to use.

Just as everyone in DayZ has consented to the possibility of getting killed by another player. It's a sandbox game, and Rocket has made it clear that you are free to kill anyone for whatever reason. That's a bad comparison, considering every survivor is not on the same team in DayZ. Really? I didn't know there was a rulebook to DayZ mentioning this. You don't need to do anything as far as survival goes except camping near a pond, hunting animals and surviving indefinitely without any interaction with other human players. It's pathetic that you are even comparing killing someone for real with player killing in DayZ, and then continue to write an essay on how unethical it is.

You have to ruin someone else's fun to an extent in any FPS.

I have killed multiple bandit snipers in Elektro and Cherno that have counted as murders on my debug monitor.

I think that it has more to do with lack of knowledge than lack of aim. You need to get accustomed to bullet drop, zeroing and using mildots when sniping in DayZ. The first time I used a DMR, it took me nearly 100 bullets to kill a few players, but when I read up on it and practiced with it in a ARMA2 coop mission, I became pretty good with it in just 1-2 hours, and now I can hit targets at up to 800m somewhat reliably.

Agreed. It will be especially painful if you end up in the debug zone. You shouldn't have to wait for one hour to die of dehydration or starvation before you can play again ...

You have obviously not done alot of PvP if you have only gotten 32 kills over the coarse of a month ... Go to Cherno or Elektro on a full 50 player server with some friends and kill everything you see.

I would be interested in the SVD Camo if you have ammo for it. I have ghillie suits and might also be able to get a M24 from a tent I looted earlier (I can't confirm if it's still there, though). It might take me some time before I'm able to trade, but feel free to PM me your contact info if you're interested.

It's actually pretty surprising. Many of the players I have traded with are also bandits, yet there haven't been any incidents so far. In almost every trade I have also been loaded with some of the best type of gear.
