Well, I honestly don't care if it's unfair or whatnot. The game is currently being so raped by duping, hacking and off map hoarding that anything besides sitting ontop of a tall building sniping is pointless. I would at least like to be able to get some enjoyment out of this game, because as broken as this game is, sniping with a TWS is at least fun.

Rocket has already said that it's allowed to use hacked in weapons.

Immediately joining a low pop server where the loading is fast, suicide until I get to my desired spawn location and then either run back for my body or pick up the weapons I want from my group's stash.

If you want your targets to ALT+F4 to avoid death, I would recommend the M24.

Moments later a bandit ambushed and incapacitated me, but he didn't finish the job, so I got back up on my feet and emptied a clip into his face while he was looting me. I see what you mean. It's pretty pointless to invest much time into playing when hacking is so rampant. If you like I can give you coords to tents which contains some top loot.

DayZ is basically the only game I play at the moment, but I'm starting to get sick of it. It's boring that the AS50 is so common, combat logging, ghosting, hackers and that almost every single fucking vehicle is stashed off the map and never see any use. At this point it's more or less just a slow-paced deathmatch for me, as some other players have put it. I started fresh on a private hive yesterday. It's been a positive experience so far. Vehicles are actually used in the gameplay, because any off map vehicles are deleted, rare weapons actually seem to be rare and it's fun actually having to gear up again (on the public hive we have the best stuff in the game in duping tents, so it's pointless to gear up there). Have you tried to set video memory to default? That solves the graphic glitches for me and some of my friends at least.

Well, I don't care what others think. I'm just posting here to give my perspective on the matter. It is a lame way of playing, but in a game where almost everyone does it, there's simply no point to play fair in this regard. And besides, the only reason I actually kill well-geared players and get the chance to loot them, is because I'm using the AS50 or manage to kill them fast enough. Most of them would likely have combat logged in a heartbeat if I had given them the chance. Same here.

Of course. But why should I do anything about it? No other combat logger is going to start playing fair anytime soon and I'm not some sort of Mother Theresa. The way I look at it, it's just a waste of my time if I have to spend 30-60 minutes gearing up again and then move back to the spot I want to be at, while I will constantly be denied loot if I try to kill other snipers with anything less than an AS50.

With all of the duping that's going on, it's hardly unbelievable that he found that many. I have personally found 50 satchel charges inside a tent in a duping camp.

I almost always combat log like a bitch when I'm risking death. It's pointless not to, because everyone with good gear will do it when they are put at a disadvantage. I hope that combat logging will get fixed as soon as possible, but until then, I'm going to continue doing as everyone else and use every cheap trick in the book to dodge death. The immersion is already getting ruined because you more or less have to use a .50 cal to kill someone for sure, so I don't see how that matters. There is for instance no point to use suppressive fire at a well-geared player or try to sneak up on him from behind with a weak weapon, since he will just combat log 99% of the time.

As of lately, I would have to say Cherno. It's fun to snipe people from the roof of the international hotel :).

Go with the L85A2 AWS or M14 AIM. The first for its spotting capabilities (it's very effective at spotting snipers in ghillie suits) and the second one for its stopping power, aimpoint sight and the fact that it shares the same ammo as the DMR.

I have almost never found anything good in the barracks. From my experience it's far more time-efficient to look for camps (especially now with the loot inflation) and going for crashed choppers, so I would advise you to do that.

AS50 TWS, M14 AIM and M9SD. A pretty flexible combo.

I generally go with the AS50, because that's what me and my friends have stored in our camps. But I try to swap it for the M107 whenever I get the chance. While it's better than the M107 in almost every way, I like that powerful feeling the M107 has to it. I like the DMR too, but I only use it if I'm playing with my friends and at least one of them is using a .50 cal. I don't want to take shots at an enemy sniper and risk him combat logging in time. I would like to know how far away they were. It's easy to score headshots at 400-500m. Either way, you need to realize that not all of us can score headshots at over 800-1000m with a DMR to make sure an enemy sniper doesn't combat log.

Maybe that would work if the devs were alot harder on admin abuse. In the game's current state, you would just have clans abusing the mechanic by hoarding or duping the best gear so no on else can have it, and then the clan admins would just use poor excuses to ban anyone that threatens their monopolies. Add in off map hoarding to this equation, and you would have 99% of the best gear end up in the debug zone where only a lucky few can use it.

Nice shooting there. Shame you messed up a bit on the looting, but it's understandable since you were in the middle of a city. Still, such a waste to hold on to all of that raw meat when you could've brought some really good items with you. What makes you think they were hacking? They drove into the city with a legit vehicle using legit weapons, and one of them wasn't even well-geared (the guy in civilian clothing with the Kobra).

Seriously, it's fucking annoying having my humanity reset to 0 most of the time I die, and morphing between the survivor and bandit skin so I lose any backpack I pick up.

It's a hacked in weapon. BattlEye won't ban you for using hacked in weapons, but some server admins might.

It was probably because you aborted too fast after picking up his gear. You have to stay in the game for a while for recently picked up items to save properly.
