There's nothing challenging about the nighttime. It's just fucking boring, and the sooner the DayZ team realizes that and stops listening to the idiots preaching about how hardcore the game should be (no daytime, no weapons, no ammo and so on and on), the better. It's no fun to see nothing but black, white and grey all the time. The timing of the cycle is also terrible. By the time I get home from work there's little or no daytime left at all...

I completely agree with the OP and his points. A system like this needs to be implemented in the standalone.

Sounds perfectly logical to me. It would be illogical to spend time playing a game in a way that you do not enjoy.

On many of the public hive servers almost every vehicle is hidden out of bounds. They won't. Vehicles out of bounds will only disappear if they are not saved every 24 hours.

Thanks for the offer, but I think that I will be fine. Getting too tired to play now and I will probably be able to gear up pretty fast the next time I log on.

Me and Remkoe recently trashed that camp :P. Too bad someone killed me shortly after that. I had an UAZ, a rangefinger, 4 GPS, a Coyote BP and a few guns with me :(.

My ARMA2 OA keeps crashing when it has finished loading ~90% on the first screen (the one with the picture). This happens both in DayZ and ARMA2 OA, so it's not just a DayZ problem. I have reinstalled my ARMA2 OA aswell as reinstalled BattlEye by replacing and removing the BEClient.dlls (in my ARMA2 OA folder and in AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\BattlEye). I would really appreciate it if anyone can help me. I'm getting desperate and I'm worried that I might not be able to play DayZ at all tomorrow when I have a day off work ...

Vehicles don't just explode. You must have crashed it into something, had a player shoot at it or a zombie hit it.

I only use it in CQC myself, so I wouldn't say that's a problem. For me it's more important to be able to quickly take aim at a target close range, than firing accurately at ranges above 100m, and in this regard the M14 AIM is superior to the FAL. I suppose it depends on what you are going to use it for. I for one dislike the M4/M16 variants because of their low stopping power. It's frustrating to put 5-8 bullets into someone's upper chest without him dropping down, and then get killed. I will only pick a M4/M16 variant over an AKM if I'm going to actively loot towns for gear and need the extra ammo and firepower to quickly dispose of zombies. If you are already well-geared and play as a sniper you won't need much more than 3-4 clips for it to defend yourself against other players.

Try to play on a server with side channel. There's more teamwork between random players when they can actually communicate with each other without being within a 50m(?) radius of each other.

The M14 AIM has better sights and a better rate of fire than the FN FAL, so I would say that's the best close to mid range weapon.

It doesn't look like much of a hacker camp to me. There's not many high-end weapons and there's alot of basic items, which I highly doubt that a hacker would bother to spawn in.

You will probably lose the gear you looted from the backstabbers, since the restart/crash occured while you were looting, not giving the stored items time to save properly. If you didn't save the car where you most recently had it, it's possible that its location didn't save either, so you might have to backtrack to find it.
