I'm spending the next 2 months producing this short and I need to get the script finalized before anything else can happen. I need your help for one thing. I need an explanation as to how the survivor got on the beach. This will be filmed in november so he can't be soaked in water and shipwrecked. It can be ambiguous how it happened but I need a better explanation as to why he's there other than he just spawned there. The film basically starts with him on the beach not knowing how he got there or where he is. If I can get some help with this it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot for your reply Alias, some good suggestions in there! I do feel I should have specified my restrictions though. The film can not exceed 3 minutes in length and it can't have any dialouge. The bandit story is good but I need to find a way to tell it by adding things to the opening scene, not change it completely or add an additional scene.

Thanks guys, both of you. Wow, the video has actually hit the 301 view glitch now. I know in normal standars that's no big deal but for me it is. Seriously starting to consider making more Dayz now.

I am sick of having to tab out of my game to look at the loot map, it's time consuming and also very risky. I looked up dayz loot map apps and found quite a lot of them. I figured I'd go on here and ask if anyone had used any of them and which they think is the best one. Are they accurate, ect. So that's a definite "no" then? Oh well.. I want to make the game of thrones intro with the dayz map and since I can't get the buildings to come out of the ground I thought a time lapse would look cool. But I suppose it will look good enough no matter what..

Excellent man, I'm gonna try and make something tomorrow! There's one thing I haven't figured out how to do yet though and that is time lapsing! I've seen frankie do it in his cinematics, if you go here and skip to 23:10 you'll see it. I need to pan the camera and time lapse at the SAME time so I can't go in game and record.. Please if anyone knows how to do this let me know!!

Hello. I've had my youtube channel for about over a year and I've made all kinds of stuff, mysteryguitarman videos (one of which he commented on), vlogs, creative editing and so on. But my 3 DayZ videos are by far my most popular with both "Shit DayZ Players Say" (which rocket tweeted, facebooked and commented on), and "DayZ Player Encounter Freakout " at about 45 k views each. Those videos are responsible for like 80% of my subscribers.. I never intended my channel as a gaming channel, I want to do more creative filmmaking stuff but if there was ever a game I would want to post on my channel it would be DayZ because of its potential for great gameplay and a story. I've been a subscriber of frankie since before he started to post DayZ and I've enjoyed his series immensly. I watched the entire series again the other day in one sitting and while I was watching it I was thinking... hmm, I could do that! Play for a spesific objective or some kind of story, be fair about player encounters, be extremely careful and meticulous. Play for a long time and only edit in the good parts. What do you guys think? Could you please check out my channel and tell me your opinion? I think I could be able to make some really good videos if I tried.. Hello! It's been a while. I've had the idea to create a realistic DayZ in real life short film for a while and I've been developing a script during the past few weeks. I wanted it to be a realistic take on the world of DayZ and I won't be making it any time soon, not until I can get the gear necessary to make it properly, including storyboards in order to get the cinematography right. I need several camera lenses and props and misc camera equipment and rigs such as dollies. But the first draft of the script is finished. I'd like you to keep in mind while reading it that it's supposed to be very slow and atmospheric. I reccomend reading it slowly and listening to this song while reading in order to get a feel for what I'm going for. Yeah I remember that, Hitchcock talked about it and it's very true. But Hitchcock also pointed out that film effects, when used to the purpose of the story, is very important I'm interested in the technique of my work which stimulates the emotion of the viewer. That's my best definition of cinematography, which is the part of filmmaking I'm the most interested in. It's not the story that's important but what you do with it. The important thing is that the viewer goes through an experience, be it hate or love. If you experience either one I have done my job correctly.

Couldn't agree more man. But for this film I want to use cinematography to a purpose. the hitchcock zoom would be used in a similar way it was used when frodo first met the black rider in lotr, to convey distress and claustrophobia. and the reveal pan to convey surprise in an intense moment. It's really quite annoying that people who just use effects to use them get so much recognition.

I'm looking for a good private hive server with at least 20+ active players in it. Can anyone help me out? I really don't know much about the concept of private hive servers. do you need a password to get in? how do you find them and so on? I'm so sick of messed up servers. the one I played in last night had literally no loot in it and no military tents. seriously, they were just gone! I wanna be able to go to the nw airfield and find a weapon in the barracks! Please, can anyone help me?

I haven't played in about 2 months. I was wondering if the saving of tents and vehicles are still bugged. can you put stuff into the tents and vehicles after they've been saved and still have it there after reset? can you place them near trees and not have it dissapear after reset and so on? And are there any other big changes I should be aware of? Are there dogs in the game yet for example?

I'm sorry but can someone explain the hive server concept to me? how do I get into one? how do I find one and so on?
