Good evening people of the dayz forum, Almost a good two weeks ago me and my brother bought Arma 2 to play Dayz with a couple of friends. All seemed well at first and we were able to play together for several hours. This was before version 94444 of the game. However since a week now me and my brother are unable to join the same server. To further clarify the problem: We both share the same internet connection and router. We both bought separate CD keys on steam. We both use the 6 launcher and updater. Either of us is able to join any server on Dayz without any problems, however when the second player wants to join he keeps getting connections problems. We are able to see the server and join in till the player screen, the one the displays everyone's name and latency in ms, however the second player will not see his ms change from zero to anything else. After about a minute or two he gets disconnected from the server with either two of the following messages: "Connecting failed" or "Connection with the host has been lost" The RPT file. which registers the crash, keeps giving this statement: "Bad special value" I've already searched reddit, Arma 2 forum and this forum for answers but nothing turned up so far. We've both deleted, redownloaded and reinstalled the game several times Granted the game clearances through the firewall. Used the additional parameters to in the 6 launchers and steam to state the specific port: i.e: port=27007 or +clientport=2303. These specific ports we have unlocked on our router. We do question if the wording for the additional parameters is correct. Hope someone can help us with this problem, so that we can once again start running around together in Electro and getting shot in the back by some sniper. Take you for your time! Update: Of as last night the problem seems to be fixed. However two things have changed overtime. There have been several updates for the mod and Arma 2 itself that might have fixed the problem. E ven so the most recent thing we have tried is one of us switching to the other launcher "Dayz Commandor". I still use the Six launcher but my brother finds the servers and joins them with the other, so I suggested trying that out. If you have never had any problems with multiplayers games in the past and want to change the settings of your router BE VERY CAREFULL! Some ports will enable everyone to find your computer and gain access to your personal files. So unless you know what you are doing I suggest you don't try this.
