Well, hacking is part of online multiplayer ever since. There are working hacks for every single Battlefield/Call of Duty/Medal of Honor/Quake/Unreal Tournament/Half-Life/Far Cry game out there. So what's your point exactly? Breaking News! Humans will never stop breathing air! Hurr Durr!

PvP is the essence of DayZ? Seriously, wtf? Rocket said several times that DayZ is about survival and authenticity! And killing every human being on sight is the least authentic thing I can think of! The game is already dictating how players should play the game because of it's still not final loot spawns (you get every item ingame within an hour), so the only task left is to kill other players. I really hope that this will be fixed when the game goes beta otherwise I can just go play Battlefield 4. That will save me one hour to gear up before I can go all pew-pew...

If you ask me it should be like finding 1 round in 5 hours of playtime. Ammo should be so rare that it could be some kind of currency. If everyone has everything KoS will start to commence, that's right. But then make it brutally hard to get everything! Like loot so rare it will take you 1 year to get everything and implement some kind of trait/skill-based system so that not anyone can fly/repair/treat wounds. Problem solved.

I used to play on private hives with modded DayZ. But with all that quantity of high-level loot it gets boring really quick. So I'm back playing vanilla on public hives. And public hive servers are far from empty.

Maybe a bit unrelated but... Do I lose my backpack and all the stuff in it when my skin (suddenly) changes to hero? I have some bad memories with skin changing and backpacks :'(

If that happens the most important part is NOT to switch servers! You have to remember the position where you last logged out. After disconnecting from the debug area spawn again and run to the place where you logged out before you spawned at the coast. Your body will be there with all the stuff you had just without the flies (makes is harder to find for anyone passing by, so choose your logout area carefully :)). So most probably your corpse is still untouched. After a server restart the body is gone of course.

Because as soon as they get the survivor skin again, shooting each other will decrease humanity more than healing will increase it.

This. Someone could have used a key generator for Arma2:OA and just got lucky because it just generated a valid key. Which is kind of rare but unfortunately still possible.

It's dependent on the actual phase of the moon. If it's new moon then it's completely dark ingame :)

So without the debug monitor how do I know when I have to drop my coyote pack? One more blood fusion/player kill and my backpack with all the stuff inside is gone, because I cannot see when it happens :-/ Better y'all get your bandit/hero skin before 1.73 then...

We placed several tents over the last few days on different servers (version 1.7.2.4 and 1.7.2.5). We put 1 item inside and left it there. We put numerous items inside the tent and left them there and we put some items inside the tent, saved the tent and took the items out again (w/o the intention of duping though!) With both versions and on all servers all the tents were empty after a server restart (no matter who of us places the tent). On the 1.7.2.4 servers the tents didn't even come back until a second (or third) server restart. So as of now tents seem to stop working at all, at least for us.

Since patch 1.7.2.5 I've never seen or heard any kind of vehicle. We checked around 50+ vehicle spawn points over the last few days. Seems they all have disappeared magically. We didn't have any problems finding vehicles prior to 1.7.2.5 though...

Use DayZ Commander (www.dayzcommander.com) click on versions and make sure you both have the server verions of Arma 2 and DayZ. Then find a server which is white for both of you.

In addition to the 10 slots for the weapon you need 1 free slot for every magazine you have in your inventory! If you transfer an equipped weapon with 3 magazines to your backpack and you only have room for the weapon itself it will disappear forever!

In direct chat people can read your stuff within a radius of 40 meters and hear your voice within a radius of up to 80 meters. If you want to use your hatchet you need to stash your main weapon either in your inventory or your backpack. Main weapons need 10 free slots + 1 slot for each magazine (2 for each when using an LMG). If you transfer your (equipped) weapon to your backpack and you just have 10 free slots for the weapon itself it will be destroyed permanently because the system will try to transfer all corresponding magazines along with it. So be very careful with that :)

Yep, was in Stary last night and it clearly came out of one of these guys on the ground.

Yep, it seems that some of the servers only appear in DayZ Commander and some of them only in Six Launcher... Don't know why that's happening though.
