I find it funny when I log in behind someones concertina wire and catch them chilling out thinking they're all safe and shit. The best is the Balota tower. Capped quite a few lazy snipers that way. -
Agreed. I guess it's more fishing for ideas as to what I should do next to keep things interesting. I guess vehicles are considered end-game content.

Until the skins go away, the Bandit skin doesn't really say, 'shoot on sight', it just says, 'This guy has killed before, so be on your guard'. How each player handles that is going to vary. Using a crude analogy, if you were on a bus and a guy sits next to you with a red prison jumpsuit on, wouldn't you be a little nervous? You know he's been convicted of murder once before. Are you going to accept him with open arms or are you going to be a little wary and keep an eye on your wallet? I feel that this is no different. What I think is happening is that players are not willing to take the risk (killing a player in a game has no real world penalty, obviously) so they just shoot first to save themselves from getting their beans taken. :angel: -

OP: I understand where you're coming from. It's this very reason I have been shooting first and asking questions later. It's way too difficulty to communicate in this mod. By the time you've tried to hail the guy you've just ran into behind those buildings to see if he's friendly, he's lighting you up and you're back on the beach without your shit. I'm going to play it offensively until it's easier to communicate, differentiate potential friends from foe (intended, I know) and some of the issues of gameplay vs. simulator are resolved. -
Alpha or not, you might want to consider a different approach to how you handle update roll outs going forward, now that you've got close to 10,000 players. Suggest maybe forwarding players to a temp page while the .rar files are still updating to your mirrors or something? That will keep people from slamming your servers to get latest until the update is ready to go.

Loot towns at night for supplies, make to the wild to survive during the day. Cities, airfields and so on are death traps. -

OP: I agree with you, but you're going to get so much hate and discontent from the PKers, griefers and powergamers that it will probably never happen. That being said, I'll contradict myself right now and say that it's still an alpha and very early in the development process, so loot will more than likely see more tweaks as we go. I think the fixes in 1.5.8 will help reduce them (very rare weapons), since players will no longer be able to ALT + F4 to avoid the death penalty. -
This is great, I hate running around town trying to guess what is where.
