mr blackout you make this game unfair

If you die alot, try to slow down your pace a bit. For example yesterday a friend of mine was shot around a small group of about 5 houses. I ran from the treeline I was positioned in and ran down towards the buildings. When I got within about 70-80 meters I had two choices. Either I run in between the buildings and look for the guy or I sit in this bush overlooking the houses. I chose the latter and within a couple of minuttes the guy came running out with all my buddies gear on, and bam I shot him dead. A couple of minuttes of patience can sometimes really pay off. Or maybe find a couple of friends to play the game with as 4 or 6 eyes really makes a difference.

"We don't want your sniper rifle!"

I'm glad you liked it, I was impressed with the revolver and i'm no super shooter.

Judge dredd borrows ammo from me. ^^

"We don't want your sniper rifle!"

Yeah i guess a 40 meter, singleshot headshot on a moving target with a revolver (not a pistol) is everyday stuff for the awesome people like Lipemr, but to me it was quite cool. And posting a video of people shooting at stationary targets in real life really can't be compared to how things work in Dayz.

"We don't want your sniper rifle!"

Yeah it really is an amazing revolver, now imagine what we could do with a .44. ^^

"We don't want your sniper rifle!"

So today I went on a trip to the NW airfield to gather some gear, and as usual no one was there. I found a magnum, plenty of ammo and a pristine long-range scope. But as I was trying to be friendly, I didn't really want the scope or a rifle for that matter (less visible weapons might reduce the KOS on me was my logic), but I picked it up anyways as I thought it might be a good ice breaker when I met someone, to offer them the scope. After hitting up a small town I "naturally" found a mosin (when I didn't want one) and decided I would make some freshspawn really happy by giving him a sniper rifle even though it had no ammo, so I picked it up and put the scope on it. I then ran south towards the coast to see if I could find someone to talk/trade with. Ran through cherno and electro without seeing anyone, and proceeded towards berezino. When I reached the solnichniy factory I spotted two bandits on the factory roof. I then decided I would see if they wanted my sniperrifle (I know lol) and went up the stairs, up untill the last ladder leading to the rooftop and started talking to them in direct. "Hey guys I saw you up there on the roof, you don't have to be afraid i'm friendly." No answer. "If you want a mosin with pristine LRS I got one for you, I saw you were bandits and thought you could put it to good use (again I know lol)." Then one of them replied "We don't want your sniper rifle, fuck off!" So I told them I would leave them alone and went down by the lake next to the bridge and hugged the wall going east up towards the hill. At the hole in the wall near the NW corner i stopped and sat looking towards the roof with my magnum in my hand. I could see them run around up there looking for me and witnessed them shoot a freshspawn with an SKS, but I couldn't get a good shot on them. I decided I was going to take a shot at one of them the next time they exposed themselves, even though I was pretty sure I was going to miss (looked like 50 meters or so). Suddenly one of them crouch ran near the ledge, I pulled the trigger and fired a single shot with the magnum and he went prone like a ninja with cat reflexes. I thought to myself did I hit him there... nah impossible. The other guy was hiding and after waiting for some minuttes I decided to go uphill to scope with the mosin to see if they were still there. And to my big surpise I saw a body. The other guy was gone and the server went down 10 seconds after I confirmed the kill. I then went straight to DayzDB to see how far that shot actually was and it said 41 meters. I didn't even get to take a screenshot unfortunatly so if you don't believe my little story it's perfectly fine. Conclusion: The magnum is such a beast!

    Walking is exhausting...

Yes i was walking. Double tapping shift changes default movement speed as most of you probably know. I tried both with weapons in hands and on the back, seemed to be the same.

    KOS WTF?

I have played the mod for a long time and have already logged in 250+ hours in the SA. I have played the hero, the bandit and anything in between. Two days ago I dressed up in clothes that looked like the old hero skin from the mod. White and black checkered shirt, blue jeans, black tactical vest and beige baseball cap. I had a hunting backpack with my revolver, axe and sawed-off shotty and I didn't wear any primary weapon on my back. Then I walked (yes I walked, no running) for 8 hours on the main roads out in the open, going through all major cities from south to north on maxed servers (35+ players). I used direct chat before entering houses, letting people know i was unarmed and coming in. I met more than 15 people some alone some in groups and most of them armed to the teeth, and i didn't get shot at once. Most of the time I spotted people before they saw me even though I wasn't hiding (you won't believe how hard human eyes pick up slow moving targets when they themselves are running) and started chatting to them assuring them i wasn't a threat. Nobody was caught off-guard by me as i was out in the open, so nobody got startled and shot me as a reaction. The next day I did it again with a friend and we didn't get shot at one time. Might be luck, might be my voice or it might be the fact that i didn't pose a threat. I suggest you try it out, it was really fun and i made a ton of friends (some even laughed a bit and asked why i was walking hehe).

    Walking is exhausting...

He starts gasping after 15 seconds or so, which is kind of weird if you ask me. Playing DayZ is exhausting to. ^^

Your preferred backpack in SA right now.

Always the hunting backpack. Camouflaged and plenty of space, but the homemade backpacks are the ones i try to use until i get a hunting backpack. I never ever use the mountain backpacks as they are too big and bright in my opinion.

    Walking is exhausting...

I've noticed that when walking you get exhausted (heavy breathing and scope sway) just as quickly as when running. It kind of ruins the point in moving slowly. Is this intended or just a minor bug?

Will the SA Ever Feel like This?

I think the ability to enter almost any building will make it feel quite fresh even to veteran players, and will add alot of opportunities for combat strategies.

    DayZ Origins Camping Tent

I'm pretty sure you need a toolbox as well to pitch the origins tents, that should work.
  14. If you download the Dayz Origin mod you can actually build a house, where you can put a lockbox on with a personal 4 digit pin code. The house then has storage rooms no one can access except you and who ever you give the code. Be warned though it takes quite alot of time gathering the materials for the house, but with a couple of friends and a vehicle it's not too bad. Frankie did a video recently where he goes step by step through the process of building the first house all by himself, which can be a nice helping hand when just starting out.

    aaand its gone.

Actually what you do is scroll on the backpack on the ground you want to pick up, then open it while it's on the ground. Then click on open backpack in your inventory and doubleclick all items to transfer the content to the new backpack, and then you pick up the new backpack with all your stuff in. No risk of loosing old backpack filled with stuff when switching.
