    DayZ Standalone Myths

Rocket doesn't like console games. Beans for Rocket on this one.
  2. Hmmm, haven't seen a blue SUV in Taviana. Is this some sort of private hive?
  3. Ours usually gets up to about 580Mb before we archive it. MS Word will not open documents larger that 512Mb apparently.
  4. Where did you get the spectator tool, and would it work on a Vilayer server?

    Private Hive

Actually no, it doesn't. If you use Vilayer, you have no extra control over a private server than you do a public one. The only difference is you can password protect the server. All database files related to vehicles, etc are still off limits. It's a pain in the ass for those of us who want to host a server and add in non-standard vehicles.
  6. Vilayer has a whitlist tool on their severs already if you are going through them.
  7. We've had one for about 3 months, and so far it seems pretty good. Pros: - Fast, no lag - Customer service has been decent. Down times are minimal - You don't have to follow to stupid DayZ rules - All Vilayer servers are linked together - More maps than DayZ public servers - Price is resonable if you get in on the specials (We're paying $25/month for a 40 slot server) Cons: - Constant no-notice updates - They keep adding/deleting files in the log folder with no direction on how to interpret them or why they're there - Very few admin options/customization tools. No way to view people in-game or track their locations (i.e...for hacker detection)
  8. I thinkn it'd be great if Vilayer would post something somewhere that tells you exactly what each log is for and what normal script should look like. It'd be a lot easier to interpret these things!
  9. He was using the sound from a video that someone posted in this forum. I remember that video when it was posted a few months ago. You can probably search for it here in the gallery.
  10. At least the music muffled your death screams as you were being eaten.
  11. Man, we could totally use that on Vilayer servers!
  12. OP must be new to the game crawling all over the place.
  13. If you rented a server from them, they should have given you a link and access to the Vilayer ACP Panel. Once you log into that, all the settings are pretty much pulldowns in the config files. It's quite easy.
  14. How to mute people: Hit "P" Click on the name of the person you want to mute Click "Mute" /
  15. You weren't killed by goats. You were killed by someone shooting you.
  16. Makes you think twice about leaving those heat packs behind....
  17. Beans for being a good guy and not a pvp douche.
  18. We use RCON for our server: https://dev-heaven.net/projects/rcon/files
  19. One way I've found that works is to stop the server, lower your vehicle spawns down to 1, restart the server, stop the server, and then raise it to whatever rate you want. You should get a helo or 2 that way. This works for Vilayer, so if you have something else, I can't tell you.
  20. This is what happens when you don't reset your server....ever. Or it could have been hacked.
  21. What was up with his voice? Sounds like an overdub from a police lineup or something.
  22. Agreed. What the hell do they do with all this crap they collect? It's like an online version of that "Hoarders" show. Everything I need is in my backpack. That way I'm not tied to a part of the map. Half the fun of the game is starting over and exploring trying to get stuff.
  23. I like everything about it, except for no NVG's. If it's purely based in a city, the ambient light seems to be fine. But, if it's Cherarus-like, I would like to not fall off a cliff or break my legs by running into a tree because I can't see where I'm going. NVG's are real, available items IRL, so why not include them in a game?
  24. I believe it will tell you what vehicles have spawned in the "blisshive" log file. Just search something like "UAZ", and you should see a big line of script saying that each vehicle has spawned and what it is. That file also tells you where helo crashes have spawned.
