I could see some sort of russian roulette game from this. A whole czech vest full of beans. Only 1 is poisoned. All the survivors gather around. Whoever gets the bad beans looses until theres only 1 guy left. i like it.

How about frag versions too? Or smoke. You should be able to get a 200 m thing of string. You can have the string stretch out for 200 m, but chances are that wont give you as much of a location as a 20m. Also it should be able to be disabled with a toolbox. The (insert grenade/flare here) would have to be on one of the ends, so someone who is tripping a 200m long tripwire wont die by the explosion, just get the shit scared out of him/her

Great idea. I would prefer to have vehicle spawning at a minimum. Maybe if the chance of a car spawning is less than 1%, I might agree, but there is already way too many ways for Bandits to kill people, and creating a decoy traffic jam to lure players in would be bad. However, that being said, I love The Walking Dead, and I'm glad community members are starting to come up with ideas from the series!

Its still in very early alpha. This kind of lame shit happens a lot. If you really dont like the game, just wait a few months. By then most stuff *should* be fixed

I dont understand how they can follow you unless you broadcast your server to the world. Unless they are actually IN your computer, downloading all kinds of nasty stuff on the DL. But yeah, probably really bad luck

SAW. Ill tell you what. In a 1-1 scenario, with each person 500m away, and both knowing the other players position, with a sniper in your hands. Tell me you can still fire with 200 rounds of pain going your way. You dont have to be accurate if you have enough lead to cover a hillside.

After fending off literally 50 zombies (To this day my kill count is 102) while waiting for my friend in Cherno, and having at least a full hour pass, i decided to just meet him in Zelenogorsk. So after meeting up, i decided to skirt the edge and make my way to the tower. Now, having seen that every single place in Zgorsk had already been swept clean, i figured, despite the rumors, that this was our last chance at a resupply. After looting the deer stands, i realized that i was both hungry and thirsty. And when such a thing occurs, and you see your blood go from an already critical "4,375" down to "3,843" (appx) in a very short time, you get desperate. And of course, i had nothing. The tower was my last resort for food and water Very carefully sneaking my way up there, i managed to reach the top. Of course, my green friend decided that it was "lets piss off a zombie" day. So we climbed. At the top of that tower, i found a can of beans, a MOUNTAIN DEW(which i caps'd for attention to its rarity and the irony of the name), and a mag for my 1911. Which ended up saving us from the zombies. To some, Green Mountain may be a curse, but to me? To me its my savior. Which is why i have set up camp there. You have to have a little luck, but if you treat the mountain right, itll return the favor. Currently? I have found an AS50 and plenty of ammo from a crashed UH-1 and sit perched up top, watching the area, protecting the mountain that has saved my (virtual) life. Though the zombies are still annoying bastards to kill.

So...were saying if i wanted to play single player, i would make my own "private server", and then just host in LAN side? Interesting. Im going to have to look into that. However i feel that making your own private online DayZ server is a little selfish. It takes a mod that rocket worked on for a long time, mostly by himself, and uses it against his will. Though its not TECHNICALLY hurting anyone if its not Hive connected, i still feel that its kind of taking his mod from him. You didnt really get the permission to host the mod,and its going behind his back. Then thats when people mod .pbo files to make custom content. Though i could see the promise it holds allowing for customization and server hosting, and that could bring good ideas into the base mod, its still a little too sketchy for my tastes. The only reason i think hosting LAN is different is because its not affecting a vast majority of players (such as people online wanting to join a private (and potentially passworded) server). And ever since the DayZ SP mod was lost to the internet, ive lost all my good saves with awesome gear. Anyhow, its just my opinion. Feel free to disagree with me if you want.

I was recently playing on a server, and i was in the woods by the barracks southwest of the NWAF. My friend said to meet me in one of his servers, so i left and joined his server. After running about 10 meters or so i entered the barracks, only to find all the doors closed with nothing inside. Is this what they mean by percentage to have loot, or is this a bug?

they are saying that theres loot because the catagory its based under is what its talking about when it means loot. IE deer stands, tents.

You can fix blur by going into your resolutions and making them both the same resoultion (They are not the same by default).

It looks like you are on the edge of the western part of the map. Either go east or respawn
