  1. To me, by stating this you somewhat proved my point. You do not feel remorse for saddening another player because this personality of yours lead you to believe this is absolutely not wrong because it is only a video game. So, in a sense, it reflects your inner personality because on my side I believe the exact opposite. I DO care for saddening other players, because in real life this is the way I am. I'm conscious of the consequences of my actions and I care for the way people feel. You clearly do not (in this game, ofc). Now I'm not saying you are a bad person or even that you act the same way in real life, that is only a generalization. Food for thoughts. Oh so, let's see, because people should not get attached to their gear, there should be less justifications to not be cruel? That would be like saying: people should not get too attached in a relationship knowing their partner can break-up at any given time, therefore they can cheat on them without remorse because they knew the risks and the rules of being independant (exaggeration)
  2. To AzinGaming - I find it rather amusing how many assumptions you make on my case. You talk like you know everything and even more disturbing, like you know me from one single topic. The more you talk the more I feel sad for you. You seem like a very blind person who only see the world with the mental filter you have built yourself over time. Claiming that I have a big ego (when you clearly seem to have the biggest one on this topic), that I should stop playing video games because I take them too seriously, or even better, that I have stupid beliefs, it clearly brings to wonder what kind of men you are. To me, you just try to act cool and brilliant when, in fact, you are just a disrespectful immature person. I started this topic peacefully, not trying to attack anybody, just raising questions, and now you come here attacking me for no fucking reason. What's your problem seriously? Projecting yourself into others, maybe? Let me 'lol' at your face man. You don't know shit about me. You are wrong on every aspects of your teenager analysis.
  3. I couldn't agree more Shaimou. When I was younger, I played one of the first (if not first ever) MMORPG created: Ultima online. I remember how fun it was was because of the perma loss and death built in it (actually, it's exactly what made Dayz so fun for me). I remember being a player killer (and a very good one) at that time. I was killing a lot of people for their stuff and the pleasure and excitment I would get from it. I even killed some of my long-term in game friends for their unique stuff... no needs to say I still regret it to this day. But I was so young and unconscious at that time, I couldn't fully comprehend the consequences of my actions. I was also very alone and I think it made me feel more alive. I guess it relates to the example you gave about the friend of the OP killing their new friend for no reason. Sometimes people feel so empty inside themselves that they need to do this kind of bs to feel some kind of pleasure and intense emotions.
  4. Thanks for bringing something coherent.
  5. How can this be stupid? The way people react in a video game is clearly something to be looked at, and knowing how popular Dayz got you can be damn sure there are already people looking at this game for further studies of human behavior. You didn't quite understand what I was trying to bring here. Just trying to see why people seem to think the choices they make in a video game have no real impacts in the real life. I suppose you are kidding right here, bro. Otherwise, you clearly do not understand what killing another human being means. Saying this makes YOU look silly. This is YOUR belief and maybe you should start showing some respect to others'. If you think Karma is complete non-sense, right that's your choice, but don't make me look like a fool for believing in something that is demonstrable with simple logic. Maybe you should do a little research on this concept and realize there is meat around the bone. Got 2 chars of 11+ day of survival, lonewolf, 0 murder, a lot of passes around and in big cities. Just saying.
  6. That is your opinion, my friend. As far as I can tell, I have already seen the influence of Karma in this game. A matter of beliefs, I guess. That isn't what I said. You cannot compare games where the only goal is to kill the opponent team and win by defeating them. It seemed obvious to me.... I completely agree with the fact Dayz can be seen as a roleplaying game. I am only talking about the way people seem to excuse themselves. Thinking that because this is a video game their actions have no consequences, therefore they can do whatever they want with no remorses. I'm only questioning this strange behavior. You can play the game like you want buddy, I have no problem with that.

    Why do people do it?

On a more serious note, I would say that the answer is darker than most people think. I sincerely think that the human race has come to a point, in 2012, where they misunderstand what is true happiness, joy and pleasure. They don't care about the consequences of their actions, or at least they don't understand it. People do not believe in Karma anymore, so why would they bother? A lot will claim it is only a video game and that nothing matters... ....I say bullshit. I say the way people play video games reflects the way they truly are inside of them. The secret side of their personality they cannot fully express in the real world. So they fuck with people over the internet saying to themselves it doesn't matter because '' It's only a video game, isn't it?''. The sad part is that they fail to realize Dayz isn't a game like you can see everywhere: it has perma-death built in it. That means that the victims will often feel extreme anger and hate from dying for no reason... and these bad emotions and energies will be directed at the cause of the problem - the killer. (Negative Karma) They forgot how they felt themselves when they got randomly killed by someone they were trying to help. So they started to behave like everyone, they started being a sheep. I am not a sheep. I am a respectful player and will always be. I do not KOS. I help others. I remember this: ''Happiness of some, misfortune of others'' And I know I am not alone.
  8. I knew I would be quoted for ignoring your nickname, Lennsik. Accept the apologies of a lazy man.
  9. I'm also a lonewolf, so I get your point. I was just saying you were mad from the way you were responding to this other guy. Anyway, I've already found a couple of tents, and I've got them all at Cherno/Elek/Stary's Supermarket (if that can help you)

    Why do people do it?

After a long reflexion on my side, I would say people tend to do it because they want to have that, you know, ''spark'' again into their relationship. They want to explore new horizons, new feelings and emotions. They just want to feel alive. Sometimes it is only because the men thinks the vagina is kind of getting boring, and wants to explore new hol... Oh shit, wrong forum. Sorry I'm out.
  11. I say you should surrender. You won't survive long with this Karma of yours.
  12. The same amount of time you've got to write this kind of bullshit. If I remember well, I came on this topic to give my opinion on a question that YOU raised, thinking this might have resulted in an appropriate debate. Now, from what I am seing here, you are the mad one, bro.
  13. The thing is you are clearly pushing yourself away from respect by saying this kind of shit. I don't know where you are going with this anger, but seriously man, chill out.
  14. Hope you are not trying to be funny there.
  15. I must say I agree with you on the point you should be able to pack a tent when you find it. It is clearly more realistic knowing Dayz wants to deliver a plausible apocalyptic experience. Anyway, when you have stolen everything someone possess, why not simply pack a tent and leave...
  16. With hackers being so rude and present nowadays, why not a little laugh about it?

    Your saddest moment in Dayz

There are a LOT of sad moments for me in this game; - Being killed when you forgot that you didn't close the game when you shrunk it to desktop. - Being killed by a hacker - Being killed by a glitch/bug - Being killed when you try to make peaceful contact with an unknown survivor. - Being killed by a falling copter - Being killed by my own grenade - Being killed by the well-known yeti in Green Mountain. - Being killed by a Rocket... - etc

    Why this mod is failing

There is one BIG thing I really don't like about this kind of post; it induces in everyone's mind (noob/casual/veteran) the idea that cooperative gameplay is non-existent in Dayz. Almost everybody is starting to think that teamwork isn't an option anymore, which is clearly wrong. Of course, it is not the actual #1 strategy of survival, but anyone with a decent brain will still try to look and fight for it. Unfortunately, each time someone reads a post like this one and go to play Dayz afterwards, they will be in a state of mind where they can't trust anyone. So yeah, you are right about some points, and even if you don't seem to reason like an idiot, why can't you see that this community doesn't need rants like this one nowadays? If you really want to make it better, that is. Seriously man, grow a little.
  20. That's exactly what this video was meant to induce ^^

    Cant open Multiplayer?

Having the same problem on my side since a couple of minutes. Doesn't see any MP servers anymore...
  22. Funny you mention playing with TSFH at night because it's exactly what I'm doing all the time. I like playing this game with any kind of epic music since it fits so well with the general atmosphere! Thank you for your comment m8!

    Breaking Point <.<

Becoming an asshole yourself will absolutely not get rid of what you just flamed about, in fact it will strengthen it. This game is about the choices you make as a player but also as a person. When you kill someone in cold blood you damn know what you do and what he feels like on the other side of his computer, except if you have no empathy or are just plain ignorant. So let me get this straight to you; if you wanna avoid these kind of situations (and even then you won't always succeed) you just have to play like you would like others to do and BE the example. Not just say to yourself ''oh fuck that, I'll just become a heartless and brainless man like them'' and only get create a worst community than it already is. Killing for survival is one thing, killing for fun is egoic and just show how people really are inside of them - no matter what they say. On my side, I believe in Karma. We all experience it in life itselfs, but also on others area, and in a game like this one I can assure you I have already see the consequences of each of my actions. I try not to kill others at all cost, but it happened 3 or 4 times I let ego control me and just kill someone in cold blood for what gear I thought he had. Surprisely, each time I murdered someone and stole his stuff, I lost everything to bugs and connection insta kill. So, if you followed me well, I think this speaks for itself. From now on, I try to think each of my moves and actions and always prioritize the friendship encounter. I will only use self-defense and from what I have expereienced recently, it is wise because it is clearly working. No need to become evil.
  24. I've thought of this recently; Everyone should have already noted that there are some loud noises in the forest, like birds flying to the sky or branch of trees being broken. Everytime I hear one of those sounds, I start to believe there is someone or something around me that triggered them (which would likely be the case IRL) and I feel some paranoia and adrenaline (which is great), then realize once again this is randomly generated by the engine of Arma 2. That's why I was wondering wouldn't it be a great idea to implement a system (should be very simple with the actual editor) that would also trigger those sounds when people are actually in the area? For example, let's say the bunch of trees near NW Airfield, when someone enter this area, there should be a % of chance that the birds get afraid and fly away - thus making a lot of noise - and also a possibility of a small tree or branch being broken. Yes, that would unfortunately reveal the position of the guilty, but it would also be more realistic and fun since there is always a chance of making unexpected noise IRL, especially when running (so that could be the balance). Needless to say it would only be heard from a certain radius around the area. What do you think?
