  1. Hi guys, yesterday I was just starting another character from scratch again when I met a stranger and decided to work with him. We then got ''rescued'' from a zombie outbreak by a strange white-bearded man and his black car. At first I thought it was all legit but then people told me it was a hack, which is clearly the case. I didn't know all the vehicles of Dayz at that time and this is why I got myself lured into this trap. That was still funny and I thought it was worth sharing. So, BEWARE of the white bearded man with the black car! &hd=1
  2. I just don't understand why instead of removing this very interesting and fun function completely, why not give the players themselves the ability to turn it on or off. So it would be an individual choice. This option would be MUCH more logical.
  3. It almost seems like this video doesn't make me laugh as much as it did knowing how many hackers are ruining the experience recently. *Sigh*

    Thus ends my DayZ Day.

Wow, so much teenager bla-bla it's laughable. What are you arguing for exactly? Oh yeah, I get it - Sadly for you guys, I've got the biggest balls and strongest father. You can all go to bed now.
  5. Why would they stop developping the mod? It is their dream haven of testing where they can try anything they wish for and blame it on an alpha mod, so nobody can ''really'' be mad.

    Thus ends my DayZ Day.

I feel like we all are in the same boat. This game is fucked up right now. My 2 weeks character just got killed like yourself yesterday by an insta kill hack. Honestly, that little bitch would've been in front of me IRL and I'd certainly have kicked his fucking ass. I have no respect for this kind of people. They should clearly go lose their virginity outside in the real world. The world they do not understand so they have to destroy the only one they know and have power on.
  7. I couldn't disagree more with anyone defending the off-limits vehicles hoarding. How could anyone walk hand to hand with this unfair and ridiculous idea? Off-limits means off-limits. Out of bounds. Out of game. Do you really think everyone has the time to walk all the way around the map and go off-limits everyday, only to find a single vehicle? Like we weren't already walking enough in Dayz. People who play this game a lot clearly have a huge advantage and I have no problem with that. However, when it comes to discuss wether or not vehicles should be allowed to go off-limits, I'm seriously disturbed one can honestly defend this ''valid'' point, like it has been said above. It's so obviously unfair that I wonder why I even have to write this post...

    Hackers are cowards

I know what you are saying man. The same shit happened to me in the past few days. Just take a little break from this game, go play something else. You can go play Fallout New Vegas if you haven't already... with mods, the experience gets pretty close to Dayz. Except multiplayer.

    Im done, hackers win...

If it would not encourage all hackers to go to your virgin servers, I would ask the names of these right way.

    Hackers are cowards

Repeat from 30 last previous posts: '' I understand. Don't give up, it will get fixed eventually. ''

I understand. Don't give up, it will get fixed eventually.
  12. Who could possibly deny that there are more hackers out there? Use of simple logic; the game just reached 1 million unique players and is at its top popularity. Engine is a heaven for hackers. Last 2 days of play; Being killed 2 times in a row by invisible (must I add FREAKING FAGS) hackers. Got my oldest character insta killed with everyone on the server. I'm staying far away from this game for a couple of days, maybe weeks.
  13. Don't worry, I'm perfectly sane. I have my opinions and you have yours. If you'd have read my previous post with more seriousness, maybe you could have realized that I said it was not a great idea for Dayz. Now, maybe you don't grasp the concept of RPG skills, or maybe you don't like it at all, but it is clearly something that I'd like to see in a MMO zombie survival and there are a lot of people out there that probably think the same.
  14. These ideas would certainly make people coming back for more. The thing is I don't see it well implemented in Dayz and Arma 2's engine. However, it will be implemented one day or another in a game with the same bottom line as Dayz, be it WarZ or anything else.

    A question.

You should clearly be ashamed of yourself if you used hacks to fuck with other people. I just got killed by an invisible hacker running around me and trying to shoot me 15 or 20 times (very bad skills to say the least) and I can assure you it is so frustrating and irritating when you have survived for over 15 days, there is no words to even try to describe it. I sincerely hope you have learned from your mistakes. Do not ever hack again, m8.
  16. Wasn't this method working; Change full screen to windowed Change windowed to full screen Deactivate and reactive AA I did it a couple of times and it worked.
  17. Bigger map with the same amount of players wouldn't be that great...
  18. Yes, clearly... but was it not what I just said? Also, Rocket confirmed in a recent interview that the bandit skin system would probably be reintroduced with the next available patch.
  19. The way I see it, this game clearly lost a small portion of his soul by removing bandit skin. It could have been the other way, but it didn't. We all know it is not realistic at all, but who cares about realism when it could enhance a lot of things the game is missing atm. Remember Ultima Online anyone? Player killers had their name marked red and at no time did it break the game immersion and fun. Rocket decided to try and remove bandit skin and I think it was a very wise decision since it is alpha and everything should be tested. But now, when we see how Dayz changed, and how people react nowadays when they encounter other survivors, we can all agree that there is a problem with the actual system. That's why I think adding the bandit skin system again, with some modifications, could be greatly beneficial for everyone (or almost).
  20. A lot of epic music. But this one is best -
  21. EDIT #1: Everything that will be stated in this topic also refers to every hackers out there that use bugs, glitches, hacks and any sort of abuses to ruin other players' experience, and then explain themselves with this myth. I suppose this will make more sense for some of you guys. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi everyone, some of you guys are trying to explain their murder and egoic acts by claiming that this is only a video game (which is true) and because of that our actions in the game don't have any true consequences in the real world. In addition, I suppose most of you do not believe in Karma, and even more in a video game. I believe the complete opposite. But that is not the point. What I want to know here is why do you guys seem to think that the actions and decisions you make in a video game don't matter at all. Also, a lot of people believe the way they behave in a game doesn't reflect at all their inner self. They say to themselves '' Oh it's only a game, so who give a damn shit if I'm a being a complete douche and dick to everyone. It is not real, isn't it? '' I tend to believe the way people play a game reflects the side of their personality they do not want to fully express in the true reality (when they do negative things). This is what I think because when I play a game like Dayz, I play it like who I truly am. In real life, I am a respecful and honest person, so why would it be so different in a game? I do not KOS, I do not betray and I help others. This is even more important in a game like this one where death is permanent and so shocking (sometimes). I know how people will feel on the other side of their computer and I understand my choices will have true consequences in their life. That's why I've come with these 2 really simple situations and I'd like you guys to tell me what is the difference you see from them; Situation #1 ----------------- You are taking a walk in the streets. You see a kid with a set of cards you have long desired, or with a cap you have long wanted, or with money, or anything that comes to mind. You decide to steal it from him for your own ego and then succeed. Afterwards, you feel a bit sad because you clearly remember the look on his face, but still, you move on. Consequences: You have made someone sad and probably have destroyed his day. Negative Karma (if you believe in it, of course) Remorse (possiblity) Situation #2 ------------------ You are in Dayz. You see a survivor with the gear you have long desired, or with anything that comes to mind. You decide to kill him for your own ego, and steal everything from him. Afterwards, 2 possibilites: * You do not give a shit because you say to yourself everyone would have done the same (which is false, btw). Also, it is only a video game, isn't it? * You feel very bad for the guy, but still, you move on. Consequences: You have most likely made someone really frustrated and probably have destroyed a lot of hours of work. Negative Karma (if you believe in it, of course) Remorse (possiblity) So now, tell me what lead you guys to think that these 2 situations are so different? Why being a dick in a video game seems to have no effect or influence on you whatsoever? In both scenarios, you have clearly made someone sad and frustrated. On some occasions, you might even have disturbed a whole day or night because, you know, some people take this really seriously. This is even more true in a game like Dayz, where death and loss is permanent. The way I see it, the only thing that changes when you play a video game is the fact that you do not see the victim's face. Therefore, you do not give a damn shit. But the thing is, the consequences are clearly the same. You have created a negative situation for another human being and are the only guilty no matter what you make yourself believe. P.S: I know this do not apply to everyone. It is only a generalization of this community.
  22. Hahaha, what a clown you must be in person. I like how you manage to appropriate yourself the thoughts of an entire community. You're clearly just acting like a troll and nothing that you've said will bring in an adequate debate since all you do is attacking me personally. The fun part is you actually accuse me of attacking you in the first place by claiming Karma is real. Brilliant, just like you said. Well, good for you man. For me, and probably a lot of people, I do things to actually FEEL something. Maybe the fact you don't feel anything at all doesn't only relate to video games?
  23. I think this statement would work for most games out there, but it doesn't entirely apply to Dayz. Simply because almost everyone is addicted to this game because they can feel emotions with it. The perma-death system is mostly what makes this mod so entertaining. You cannot detach yourself from something when you feel emotions from it. This just doesn't make sense.
  24. I was supposed to talk about hackers in the original post, but I was in a hurry when I finished it and forgot. Thanks, OP is edited now.
  25. Maybe I have expressed myself in the wrong way, but most of you do not seem to grasp what I was trying to bring here. I am not talking about if or not people should kill other players on sight in a survival game. I was merely discussing the strange behavior a lot of them were having to explain their actions of murder. The popular ''It's only a video game''. A lot of you guys seem to think that because it is a video game, there is no real consequences for fucking with others. It almost seems like some of you were claiming that the players - and the emotions they feel - were as real as the game: non-existent and virtual. But this is false, and this is only what I was trying to put to light. I wanted to hear the explanations you had for this phenomenon.
